A lot of people also pretend that Fortnite is used to market obscure characters like Master Chief, Goku and Spider-ManA lot of people out there sure love to pretend kids were going to immediately start buying Metroid games because of a fortnite skin
It helps brand recognition. Having a Nintendo character appear in Fortnite with potentially a designated location could help introduce the character to new audiences.A lot of people out there sure love to pretend kids were going to immediately start buying Metroid games because of a fortnite skin
You of course, are correct. Just remember though, they had Mario during the Wii U era too.Who the fuck is Fortnite compared to Nintendo's brand lmao
Does Nintendo need Fortnite?
They have Mario
Who said Nintendo needs Fortnite? What are you even talking about?Who the fuck is Fortnite compared to Nintendo's brand lmao

“They got really hung up on their characters showing up on platforms that weren't their platforms,” Mustard says. Fortnite ran on all consoles and PC, even mobile at the time, meaning all the crossover characters would show up on all those devices. “They would be thrilled to have Nintendo characters in Fortnite, but just only if it's on their platform.”Epic would not okay platform-specific characters. “For me and for all of Epic, we’re like, ‘That is an absolute must. We want to make sure that Fortnite is the same experience, no matter what screen or device you're playing on.’”
Who said Nintendo needs Fortnite? What are you even talking about?
Freaking Spider-Man, the Avengers, and Darth Vader are in Fortnite and those are arguably just as iconic as Mario. Do Disney and Marvel need Fortnite? No. It's just something that's fun.
Metroid could have used fortnite, yeahWho the fuck is Fortnite compared to Nintendo's brand lmao

what do they lose?I have thoroughly outgrown the serotonin of seeing my favorite brand engage in another brand. I do not care.
Thus, with me not caring, I have to see it from the business perspective of both properties.
Why the hell does Nintendo need to play ball with Fortnite when they haven't had a history of playing ball with anyone for anything gaming related lmao.
What do they get out of this.
What is the correlation betweenNot surprising if true, nitnendo is more protective/exclusive with their IPs than Disney
Metroid could have used fortnite, yeah
Maybe they should start engaging with other platforms. But then again, I'm starting to think that exclusives are bullshit and games should be available on multiple platforms.I have thoroughly outgrown the serotonin of seeing my favorite brand engage in another brand. I do not care.

I don't need numbers, exposure on one of the biggest gaming platforms is good advertisement for a niche series. What is the correlation between
A game brand being in Fortnite leading to
The success of that brand outside of Fortnite
I would be thrilled to see the numbers if you had them. Because you're saying it could've 'used' the popularity of Fortnite -- for what lmao. What are your numbers ?
What exactly do they lose by adding it Fortnite? Is some random person going to see Samus do a dance and think Nintendo sucks, then proceed to do the same dance with Goku and Iron Man and think it's awesome?I don't buy the angle one bit that fortnite would help future or past metroid games sales. Is there any data or statements from publishers showing or stating game sales increased after being added in fortnite? Also, I don't get the angle of calling people defenders because they don't care that Nintendo declined to do a crossover because its against their policies
You are way too concerned about this lmaoWhat exactly do they lose by adding it Fortnite? Is some random person going to see Samus do a dance and think Nintendo sucks, then proceed to do the same dance with Goku and Iron Man and think it's awesome?
Apologies for trying to discuss on a message board. You are way too concerned about this lmao
Having their brands on a competitor's platform is what they lose. You might think it's stupid, but hey. That's the game.what do they lose?
Talking about dumb/pointless shit is why we're on a forum. if we can't make judgment calls on Nintendos choices does then why are we even here. Ryuji doesn't even seem heated he's just talking lolYou are way too concerned about this lmao
I get the general idea of the point you're trying to make but I still can't grasp what is being lost here. If Samus does a dance on an Xbox console how does it hurt Nintendo's bottom line?Having their brands on a competitor's platform is what they lose. You might think it's stupid, but hey. That's the game.
it's not really about being bigger or smaller, or who needs who. a lot of companies that are far bigger than epic/fortnite have lent their IP to be used in the game.It makes sense. Nintendo is bigger than Fortnite, what do they care?
Once again, can we not belittle members for criticizing Nintendo policies? Nintendo isn't your friend. You are way too concerned about this lmao
You don't get to decide that, only Nintendo can truly make that call.I don't need numbers, exposure on one of the biggest gaming platforms is good advertisement for a niche series.
Console exclusivity, Metroid being associated with a game for children and having interacting with Darth Vader, Peter Griffin, and Goku, Playstation and Xbox profiting from the Metroid skin, losing the allure of the brand because it's not a good gameplay fit, ect. There are so many reasons from up on high. What exactly do they lose by adding it Fortnite? Is some random person going to see Samus do a dance and think Nintendo sucks, then proceed to do the same dance with Goku and Iron Man and think it's awesome?
It helps brand recognition. Having a Nintendo character appear in Fortnite with potentially a designated location could help introduce the character to new audiences.
Also, Fortnite isn't just played by kids.
I don't think FF7 characters are in Fortnite (yet). Also, I just want to say. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is on PS5, and it's characters are on fortnite. And by all metrics we have, it has sold worse than Metroid Dread so far. A character being in Fortnite does not guarantee success.
alan wake I guess? didn't seem to have much of an effect thoIs there any data to show there's a "Fortnite effect" where the included properties see a boost in attention? It seems like such a crowded mess of a game at this point that I can't imagine there's any significant cross promotion at play anymore. But if so, one could argue Metroid could use the boost, not that there'd still be better ways to raise awareness of Metroid.
And thank God for that! Imagine Barrett walking around with a real gun. You have one attached to your body, you dork!I don't think FF7 characters are in Fortnite (yet).
You're not doing that. You're making a mountain out of a molehill to prove that Nintendo's a bad company or whatever. There is no reason to lose sleep over this. And before you say that they're not my friend, neither is Epic Games lmao.Apologies for trying to discuss on a message board.
Sorry man, FF7 got leaked. I WILL play as sephiroth in fortnite and I WILL drop with the one winged angel!!! You can't stop me!!!And thank God for that! Imagine Barrett walking around with a real gun. You have one attached to your body, you dork!
I am not arguing anything is lost by being added but also I dont see anything gained other than short term profits from skin sales as I dont think it will increase the sales of metroid games. I'll ask again is there any data showing fortnite increases the sales and ip awareness of any brands? What exactly do they lose by adding it Fortnite? Is some random person going to see Samus do a dance and think Nintendo sucks, then proceed to do the same dance with Goku and Iron Man and think it's awesome?
