StarTopic Persona 5 Royal |ST| It's Time to Unveil the Hype You've Been Waiting For

Is this your first time playing Persona 5?

Well I got past one more wave of them, but the chunky “I’m only weak to curse and bless” ones got me.

Absolutely fierce check on your planning when it comes to battling. I’m saved now before sending the card so technically I can Mementos for a bit, but I just need to figure out that final strategy for the last big wave.

I wonder if I can buy any items to help here with building baton passes, or maybe hit the guillotene. Real culture shock for me as RPGs are usually ok with allowing you to rock up with any old team and brute force your way through.

Items help a lot, using them to get a full baton pass boost for a massive AOE attack is what got me through that

Hey, whatever works! That fight is dumb and unbalanced and nothing else in the game will be anywhere near as bad, so just get through it so you can get back to the good stuff. And pretty much everything that comes after it is all incredible peak Persona 5.

Conceptually, I really admire it, I understood it from the first attempt but Christ it was like the episode of Doctor Who where Peter Capaldi spends 6 billion years punching through a diamond wall.
 
Thank you all for telling me to play Royal content. That ending etc is so integral to the concept of the game I am shocked it's additional material.
 
Right, I've caught up to the beginning of the game. I think it an incredibly crafted story to the point that it reminded me of how well put together Ghost Trick was.

In detail:

Putting the main antagonist out there as a straightforward, natural antagonist for the team was very clever. Watching the relationship develop, always feeling that there was something off about him but maybe it just needed time to resolve, him almost seemingly being won over by the Thieves, only to have the rug pull at the Casino. THEN to have that exposed as a ruse that had its seed planted way back in the first interaction with him. Wild.

I've got P4G sat on my desk now, but I'm going to need a bit of a Persona break I think before heading back in.
 
Got RIGHT TO THE END. Underlevelled and under itemed, I was a few turns away from victory.

Going to have another go but after a hefty grinding session before I go in.

It’s the lack of SP that’s the killer. Had I known this, I’d been brewing coffee like a maniac.

I’m sure a grind fest will sort me out.

Better get this final semester too!
 
NAILED IT. Went in with a strategy that worked well for me while doing a bit of levelling against the flan type creatures.

Basically three team members continually:

Defence Up
Attack Up
Attack Down
Defence Down
President’s Insight on Joker

And then Joker does this Almighty hit all attack that does 3 hits.

Kills all God Weapons in one go, made short work. I had ONE Soma in my stash, which got me over the line.

I just ordered the game for Switch. I’ve never played a Persona game, and I know very little about them, but I’ve been reading reviews and this looks like it’ll be a blast!
