Head bobbing option is there on top of the difficulty options, but still no gyro optionsNice, looking forward to hearing if there are any differences between the launch NMS and this new patch on Switch

Gyro seems to be a wanted feature online, not for me though.Bah, is gyro a feature they mentioned is coming do we know?
How about performance, notice any differences?
I am. And I already have the game on PC too. Many of you playing this on Switch?
Image quality looks a bit clearer with this recent patch. Pop-in seems to be less jarring thanks to a bit more draw distance. How about performance, notice any differences?
Considering how much they have commited to this port, this seems weird omission. No gyro will probably bother me too much.
I haven't followed everything from every patch, but I don't recall battles getting much bigger than a handful of pirate ships at a time. Are there any larger scale space battles like in the Star Wars movies or am I looking at the wrong kind of game for that kind of thing
I feel like you get one quite easily by following the story objectives? I'm not even sure how I got mine but I know I didn't have to grind cash for it.Ok, I am done with Nier and ready to be sucked into this universe for God knows how many hours.
I am currently looking for a lot of cash to buy a hyperdrive. Does anyone have any tips on how to speed up that grind?
I think story mode is in all modes except creative. Can you still do the story mode if you select relaxed mode? Does it just make the story and actions less grindy?
Yeah, it's part of the main quest, but I am awfully short on cash. I guess I am off to grind some materials then!I feel like you get one quite easily by following the story objectives? I'm not even sure how I got mine but I know I didn't have to grind cash for it.
Some main quest missions specifically happen in hazardous planets, as a fixed thing. Can't help but feel the game's procedural generation just decided to mess with me big time. I just had a mission of the main quest feature an objective in an underwater building on a highly-radioactive oceanic planet. I had to swim for a ridiculous distance under heavy radiation while constantly restoring my environmental protection. I was able to get back to the ship with a sliver of health and completely out of shield-regeneration resources. Phew, that was tense.
Same here regarding the issues. The pop-in is also pretty bad at times, but personally I don't feel it's a deal-breaker.I really hope that people haven't been put off by that Digital Foundry video. I've been playing handheld on the OLED and none of the issues the mentioned popped out to me. The only times I've noticed stutter is when the pulse drive starts and when you enter some planets atmosphere.
I've put about 12 hours in so far and I'm loving it!
Late edit because I forgot to respond! Some main quest missions specifically happen in hazardous planets, as a fixed thing.
Outposts was basically building a small town in which you would had to make some quick decisions from time to time, but it was more esthetical than playable. I don't think its a big loss, building your basement its much more relevant.Assuming they wanted you in Exocraft for that one!
Quick Q: what's missing from this. Outposts I believe, and are expeditions cut too? Considering grabbing it for Switch as I feel the form factor suits my play time rather than over on Xbox.

have you played on the other platforms? A lot of the jank, including unstable fps and lod changes, you may attribute to the Switch is present in all versions.Im happy for people that they can play it on the switch, im happy for hello games that the sentiment around the game changed.
Its just that the original looked sooooo fantastic, that every time i see a trailer for this version i feel like im missing out on the aspect that would be the highest value for me.
So i will wait and see if there is a patch for Switch 2 when it releases that brings it up to par of other platforms.
oh, no. I don't have a platform that could work.have you played on the other platforms? A lot of the jank, including unstable fps and lod changes, you may attribute to the Switch is present in all versions.
different games , scope and engines. NMS is procedural and has no loading screens once you load it up, which is part of the lod issues present in all versions. If you're after visual marvels, it can deliver. There are people posting screenshots of the game on twitter that looks pretty amazing.oh, no. I don't have a platform that could work.
And i don't even talk about the jank. i talk about the reduced fidelity.
The gameplay does not really seem that interesting to me, it would be mostly a visual marble for me. From that perspective, the changes just reduce the game for me to much.
On the other hand, Nier Automata did not seem as if its missing anything while moving from PS4 to switch, but there i was more into the world and gameplay then the fidelity.
oh, im well aware WHY those ports are different, i think that the NMS port is a great port. its just not delivering on the aspects that i would love.different games , scope and engines. That said, I think it's a waste of your money to play a game with a gameplay loop you don't enjoy for the visual marvels. You won't get to the interesting planets if you don't enjoy the game. it's a bit grindy resource collecting sim at its core with base building and exploration.
So i will wait and see if there is a patch for Switch 2 when it releases that brings it up to par of other platforms.
Switch has so many games you can get into. This has always been on my radar but my back log is insane. I have to beat the Bioshock trilogy first.
They are at the end of the day still an indie. I don't think there's even cross progression for any platform.I'm really really really hoping there is some sort transition to the next platform with performance patches. I'll still have so many, plus ones that are in-flight, I don't want to have to buy the same thing again, especially with a large physical collection like this.
sean showing off gyro.
