It's gonna be a photo finish imoIt's gonna happen.
15 mIllion more. Yeah its 50/50 chanceSo I guess PS2/DS numbers are possible then. Won’t lie, I genuinely didn‘t believe there was ever a shot at that. All that…without a price drop
You think it's going to drop off a cliff when the new system releases? It's gonna be a photo finish imo
Certainly possible if Nintendo is aggressive with price cuts after the successor is out, but we shall see
I had a feeling it wouldn't hit 140 mil by the end of 2023. It IS the last full year of the Switch after all, saturation has hit somewhat.
I’d say that’s practically guaranteed. It’s what happened when the last few consoles launchedYou think it's going to drop off a cliff when the new system releases?
Exciting times15 mIllion more. Yeah its 50/50 chance
This has no impact on thatWith Nintendo upping their estimates and the Fiscal year ending in March, this makes me feel like they are not going to announce anything to impede this from happening anytime soon
I just don't think it will, especially if its more expensive than the switch.I’d say that’s practically guaranteed. It’s what happened when the last few consoles launched
That's not how that works amigo...With Nintendo upping their estimates and the Fiscal year ending in March, this makes me feel like they are not going to announce anything to impede this from happening anytime soon
They’re not going to wait until momentum flatlines before announcing a successorWith Nintendo upping their estimates and the Fiscal year ending in March, this makes me feel like they are not going to announce anything to impede this from happening anytime soon
Lately, newer consoles tend to be more expensive than their predecessors and that’s never stopped them from selling well and effectively replacing them pretty quickI just don't think it will, especially if its more expensive than the switch.
Nintendo's forecast for next financial year will be telling.
The switch is targeting a different audience thoughLately, newer consoles tend to be more expensive than their predecessors and that’s never stopped them from selling well and effectively replacing them pretty quick
They don't care about that lol.maybe they should delay get the switch 2 out in 2025 and make sure switch beats PS2
That’s generally what happens with Nintendo consoles, yeah. Maybe Switch will buck the trend. You think it's going to drop off a cliff when the new system releases?
No guarantees, but usually David Gibson has breakdowns of these:Whose twitter do we need to follow to get updates of the actual meeting or is it happening later
Sure but that’s been the case for their consolesThe switch is targeting a different audience though
And if they lower the price it will make the Switch 2 look more expensive.Great numbers but I don't think Nintendo will lower the price of the original Switch just to pass some number, feels like they're fine with things as is.
Maybe they will not lower anything to keep the worth of their property even higher and continue that trend in the next generation.
The switch has been a unique thing, so it wouldn't surprise meThat’s generally what happens with Nintendo consoles, yeah. Maybe Switch will buck the trend.
Yeah if there's a concise cross gen strategy for the next 2 years or so, especially if the successor console is supply constrained, then I don't see any reason why it can't make that final 15-20 million over that time. Who'd have thunk it?I think another 20 million life time for this system is not impossible even with a new system out, if Nintendo doesn't stop producing them.
The switch has been more popular than any other home console, so it could easily buck the trendSure but that’s been the case for their consoles
I mean, it basically hit 140 million.
....but it doesn't matter because when this fiscal year is said and done it'll be over that number.
