The ways things proceed at Nintendo haven't really.CEO's changed since the last system reveal. A LOT has changed.
If it's releasing March (I kinda doubt it) then it'll have to be announced in October or November, yeah. If March is when the conference (if one is happening) is then I can see an announcement held until January. So if the release is planned for March, what timeframe are folks thinking for a potential reveal? Sometime in October?
the entrance to the shrines in TotK makes me think they were designed that way with no loading times in mind
Lol, typical Era Ps only fanboy comment.Era is in shambles reading these news...
"those points seem a bit too much for a nintendo handheld in 2023".
New Batman confirmedTotK DLC? Nah.
TotK Definitive Edition with new Master Mode? Jack_Nicholson_Yes.gif
"Dear Mrs. Bonejack, for my birthday next year, Feb 2024, i don't want any gift from you. Just allow me to spend a lot of money a month later. Thanks, love you, you're the best."
Totk was designed with no loading times and scroll wheel shoulder buttons in mind. we've found the gimmickthe entrance to the shrines in TotK makes me think they were designed that way with no loading times in mind
"Dear Mr Bonejack, quit playing videogames and go fix that godamn door that's been broken for at least a year. Also when you're at it, please moo the lawn and don't forget my Mother comes visiting us next week and will stay for a month, so be sure we have some bottles of wine cause you know how she is. Love you. "
I usually don't dwell on typos but "moo the lawn" is one of the funniest things I've read in a while.
If they brought a dev kit to Gamescom, then nobody in that room expects the actual finished product to release in six months.March release makes way more sense than a reveal.
Why would Nintendo be telling tons of people when they plan to reveal it, 6 months before the fact?

Ok tech nerds, if one of the big points of the BOTW demo was to showcase the "almost no loading times" aspect of the new hardware, does that rule out Nintendo allowing micro sd cards for expandable storage on the next system?
no. loading would be inherently faster when you're not bottlenecked by the cpuOk tech nerds, if one of the big points of the BOTW demo was to showcase the "almost no loading times" aspect of the new hardware, does that rule out Nintendo allowing micro sd cards for expandable storage on the next system?
Shrines maybe. Though how Ascend works, there will always be the "loading screen". It's mostly for that we don't see Link clipping through the world or hiding a hard camera transition from one place to another. And maybe to give the illusion that time passes while Link is ascending. It's a featureTotK with instant Ascend all the time and seamless shrines that work like the Tardis from Doctor Who.
Fuck.
Well, technically you can use a spinning hard drive to expand your PS5 storageOk tech nerds, if one of the big points of the BOTW demo was to showcase the "almost no loading times" aspect of the new hardware, does that rule out Nintendo allowing micro sd cards for expandable storage on the next system?

Good ports on Switch like Black Flag, Alien Isolation, Nier Automata, 13 Sentinels, etc. are ignored by people looking to make a point about underpowered Nintendo hardware. Consider the 'shock' from the Red Dead Redemption port running a 13 year old 360 game. Perceptions of Switch hardware have reached the point of being detached from reality. We do have Alien Isolation on Switch already looking better than the PS4 version. Didn't rustle too many jimmies though.
This is true, though there is some loading even when Link goes through a thin platform because of the game calculating collision, I would like to see those completely eliminated.Shrines maybe. Though how Ascend works, there will always be the "loading screen". It's mostly for that we don't see Link clipping through the world and give the illusion that time passes while Link is acending. So its not necessarily faster flash memory, just a faster CPU. So seamless loading like Nate described wouldn't be as common in larger games made for switch 2no. loading would be inherently faster when you're not bottlenecked by the cpu
I guess it's similarities with the OG Switch release.Catching up here - where is the "March release" chatter coming from? I assume some of us just watched Nate's YT. I thought it meant there was chatter about March 2024 would be the "reveal", with release later in the year? March 2024 release seems pretty optimistic to me.
well we know the internal storage is faster, as it's UFS. the question was about sd cards, and that would at least hit its peak now that the cpu isn't a bottleneck. now whether that's enough for "seemless" loading, is unknown. it could be, it could not be. can't rule out anythingSo its not necessarily faster flash memory, just a faster CPU. So seamless loading like Nate described wouldn't be as common in larger games made for switch 2
I believe those only happen when the camera could collide visually with the surface when playing the animation. Or to hide when the game needs to reposition Link to avoid him ending up too close or in a wall. Even for thin platforms. I don't think that those would go away, regardless of how fast the console would be.This is true, though there is some loading even when Link goes through a thin platform because of the game calculating collision, I would like to see those completely eliminated.
Are people say micro SDs won't be used?could be wrong but I think micro sd's will at least be used somewhat if there is bc to transfer saves
but others know better than me I bet
Someone already posted in another page but essentiallyIs there a summary of what was said in the video?
I can't see a march release personally. Would Nintendo only now be showing off the system to more devs if it releases in just 6 months?
Nobody is claiming that they just started showing it off. In fact multiple rumors have been ongoing that devkits have been out for a while.I can't see a march release personally. Would Nintendo only now be showing off the system to more devs if it releases in just 6 months?
Got it.Don’t read Era
I guess it's similarities with the OG Switch release.
But Nate was very clear he was thinking on reveal. I certainly don't see much of a rush on Nintendo's part to announce hardware this year.
