Humanity peaked with Face/Off tbhJust watched Face/Off for the first time.
I was expecting a hammy, cheesy, over the top action movie… and that was delivered.
What I didn’t expect was such a great story, hilarious one liners, and extremely fun performances from everyone but especially, obviously, Travolta and Nic Cage.
10/10 action movie for me, loved it and would watch again
I really want to see this one too. Heard it’s greatWatched Dungeons and Dragons and had a fun time. It's the type of summer film (e.g. "Pirates of the Carribean 1") that I wish Hollywood would produce more often. Lots of action, comedy and heart.
At the start of this month I had never seen a single Maniac Cop film. Well folks, I have now seen all three, and critics agree: "Make Mine Maniac!"
Gotta watch 2, he's even more of a maniac! Wow!Have only seen the first one but it threw so many curveballs at me! Well, mostly I was just surprised by Sheree North's unhinged performance (Academy Award please!) and how big Taylor Swift's hair was back then.
And boy that cop sure was a maniac.
Just watched Maniac Cop 2 again. Wish any modern action movie was half as thrilling wow
This is the year I've seen all the Maniac Cop movie twice.
I wish I'd done this when the Alamo did their rep screening.saw Raiders of the Lost Ark in theaters a week ago
think this Spielberg guy is gonna go places!
I enjoyed the Macguffin more than Crystal Skull, but the movie lacked Spielberg's fluid oners and general sense of motion. Too much cutting in coverage. I liked the last half hour, though I think the villain deserved a nastier comeuppance, as we've come to expect from the franchise.Caught Indy this afternoon, was pleasantly surprised by how Spielbergy the movie felt! The cinematography was spot-on and John Williams' score was just perfect. Exactly what I needed this weekend.
also it was nice to watch a movie where the main character shit-talks Nazis half the time
It’ll be pretty if nothing else. Feel really gross about their use of the Beirut explosion in the trailer, though.I just watched a trailer for The Creator and it looks pretty good, looking forward to that.
Yeah I was just reading about that, so completely inappropriate to use itIt’ll be pretty if nothing else. Feel really gross about their use of the Beirut explosion in the trailer, though.
100%.Yeah I was just reading about that, so completely inappropriate to use it
I watched Oldboy for the first time a couple weeks ago, at the Alamo Drafthouse. Pretty awesome theatrical experience, and I'm shocked I was able to avoid spoilers for 20 years, considering the movie came out in the US and had a lot of 'BRO, HAVE YOU SEEN THIS' discourse while I was in college.Ended up getting my $4 ticket to go catch the theater run of the Oldboy release last night. It was a pretty packed theater, which was pretty cool to see for a 20 year old rerelease. A lot of people in that audience had never seen it, so I got to sit through some pretty big audience reactions to the back third of it. Pour one out for the poor guy in front of me who brought his date to this one.
Another movie I'm pretty glad to have finally seen on the big screen. Like, the hallway scene is the obvious standout reason to check it out in that format, but there's a lot of really standout camerawork through the whole thing that I appreciated seeing. Was wildly engrossing even knowing how it plays out, and the action scenes are all super kinetic and fun. Would rec to see if it's still playing near you.
