The rights likely would have reverted after x number of years. That said if thq being the publisher is a concern, they already licensed alone in the dark from thq Nordic, so if anything they should be no issues.I want all the Rare GBA (and GB/GBC!) to appear on NSO, including It's Mr. Pants, since they were neglected on Rare Replay and are likely not being rereleased elsewhere..
But I have to wonder if the original THQ publishing is hurdle... (same goes for Sonic games on GBA); I'd like to think that's not an issue, since there are other situations where the NSO versions are published by new companies entirely, regardless of the older publisher logo still appearing somewhere in the game
How exactly would Nintendo be trolling here? This is like the Mario Party 3 vs Excitebike 64 situation again, everyone has gaslit themselves into expecting one game when it could be literally any gba game, even ones not on the original schedule. If Nintendo trolls us with F-Zero gba………

Come to think of it, what's taking them so long with Super Mario Land 1 anyway? The second one was available since the app launched, but the first one is nowhere to be seen. Could they be planning something bigger with the game or is this just a case of them being weird with how they drip-feed the content? On GB/C, I'm itching for Donkey Kong (1994), Wario Land 1 and 2, Super Mario Land, Mole Mania and Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters.
they would certainly be breakin’ da rules with this oneOkay, hear me out…what if…
Complete shot in the dark, but maybe they're doing some kind of remake/reimagining of Land 1 in the Wonder style as a dlc/expandalone. 'Cuz Mario Land's pretty short and really only about the size of like one world in WonderCome to think of it, what's taking them so long with Super Mario Land 1 anyway? I think it's just a case of how they're drip-feeding content. Super Mario Land 2 is generally more highly regarded than the first, so they probably wanted to populate the app with games people would like and use from an early stage while also representing a broad array of franchises. Kirby, Metroid, Zelda, Tetris and Mario were all there from the outset, as well as Wario Land 3 (one of the best GBC games), and some other high profile games already got added like the other two GB Zelda games and the Pokemon Trading Card Game. There's also quite a high proportion of GBC games already. My guess is they simply wanted to make sure people actually used the selection.Come to think of it, what's taking them so long with Super Mario Land 1 anyway? I know people joke about this cause of the light sensor, but doesn’t the Switch have a light sensor built in to adjust screen brightness? I wonder if it could be used somehow or if it’s not close to the same thing.Clearly, they'll add the other sun-game on GBA.
For real though, Boktai on GBA NSO would slap!
I'm sure they could find a way if they wanted. Other emulators just emulate the sensor and have a setting for how much sunlight you want to have. They're genuinely cool games and I'd love to see them on NSOI know people joke about this cause of the light sensor, but doesn’t the Switch have a light sensor built in to adjust screen brightness? I was going to suggest using the IR camera, but that would limit play styles in a major way.I know people joke about this cause of the light sensor, but doesn’t the Switch have a light sensor built in to adjust screen brightness? Labo VR could use the Switch’s brightness sensor to tell whether or not you had the machine in the goggles or not, so clearly Nintendo CAN allow games to access that thing’s data. Therefore, Nintendo and Konami have the ability to do something extremely cool if they wanted!!!I know people joke about this cause of the light sensor, but doesn’t the Switch have a light sensor built in to adjust screen brightness? I think they did something with Fire Emblem 6 to 7 because there was no password system.Didn’t they do something re: save transfer with Fire Emblem for the Japanese app? Would the same thing have worked here?
No, on the leaked Sloop build, it was actually tested using online matchmaking in mind.I thought the local trade feature was tested in the emulator.
ahhhhh the good ol’ bare minimumI think they did something with Fire Emblem 6 to 7 because there was no password system.
The same thing on Golden Sun would actually require a special user interface to handle this in a simple manner.
The worst part is that they could have done it for Zelda Oracle games without any special UI needed (the receiving end would select the file to copy from the sender) but they didn't.
Nintendo: How retro do you like your retro games?ahhhhh the good ol’ bare minimum
F-Zero Maximum Velocity is left.So this basically finishes the current GBA roadmap right? Meaning we could theoretically get a new roadmap as early as next month?

GX remake announcement will come after a “shadow drop” announcement for these in a direct…book it!Maybe Nintendo will give us all three F-Zero GBA games in the same update.
GOLDEN SUN CONFIRMED

Really want the gba Banjo games myself. Never got to play them
Definitely booking that one. Doubt they'll bring Climax to the non-JP NSO apps but Maximum Velocity is a given. GP Legend would be a nice bonus.GX remake announcement will come after a “shadow drop” announcement for these in a direct…book it!
This is one of those things that just wouldn't happen if they weren't doing a drip feed.I love that Expansion Pack games on NSO get elaborated trailers (at least in the west) as if they were brand new releases! Makes me excited to see new games show up just for that!

At least we can screen capture this time and have a backlit screen for reading the font! Should make us worm light the screen for authenticity.Ah. Now people never playing the game before can also experience the joy of copying a 8 pages password only to then have to search for the one wrong symbol on page 4

But most importantly, Rare's other GB/GBC/GBA titles not from their biggest and most mainstream franchises such as Mr. Pants and Sabre Wulf should recieve a second chance!
It makes sense, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe dlc over, Nintendo needs something else to make the expansion pack more enticing going forward. I imagine they'll have some big news in the direct next month.Nintendo will have released five Expansion Pack games in 2 months. They've gone mad!

Yeah, I am expecting either another addition to the service of some sort, or perhaps a slightly more aggressive N64/GBA release schedule with a Mega Drive drop or two for the next six months before they maybe make changes later this year once new hardware is out.It makes sense, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe dlc over, Nintendo needs something else to make the expansion pack more enticing going forward.
