His profile doesn’t seem to have anything to do with Nintendo. Also XBox has their own Directs
that a big strange, why didnt Nintendo do a next gen patch for this game, when they are runing on Switch sucessor
at my switch's online connection settings the max speed hovers around 87 mbps even with a 200 mbps online connection from the ispNetwork throughput on Switch is capped, it has nothing to do with the WiFi chip and everything to do with the fact that there’s only so much the device can process of incoming data packets at any given moment, so the speed at which any network data can be processed is artificially capped at a specific maximum to prevent it overtaking any other necessary computational strength or RAM capacity. Ethernet can reduce packet loss issues, which is quite beneficial, but it cannot overcome this imposed limitation.
Initially I thought they removed Paper Mario: Orgami King because they didn't want to harm Paper Mario: TTYD sales when it releases.Assuming this is Switch 2 related and not just Nintendo being slow to restock Pikmin
This could be a reprint with Switch 2 branding and a label saying 'playable on your Switch and Switch 2' is possible.
This has happened before with a publisher. Just from my personal experience, i could find FFXI around the PS2 release; Square-Enix reprinted the game so it took some time for copies to make it back on to shelves. so not unheard of
The problem is that the further apart the performance profiles are, the more complicated it is to properly optimize for bothI just wish Nintendo doesn't skimp on Dock mode. 2x power of handheld mode is a waste when it can be much more.
There's also certain Xbox 360 games that got reprinted to have both Xbox 360 and Xbox One logosThis has happened before with a publisher. Always find it funny how blunt you are when you shut down speculationAbsolutely nothing to do with Nintendo.
These are true, and it feels like an improved battery chemistry is somewhere around the corner. I just don't know when. There's a Chinese car maker that has a model coming out with a sodium-ion battery, but I've seen articles that show that at 120Wh/kg as opposed to the ~250Wh/kg that a high end lithium-ion battery can provide. I don't know a whole lot about battery technology, but the big transition will happen when we beat lithium-ion on price, energy density, and volumetric energy density. Maybe just the first two will be enough for certain applications though. As @AshiodyneFX mentions, there are more possibilities for how a Lite might transpire this time around. Better battery is one, but there's also a possibility that the battery performance in handheld mode is already so great in the standard hybrid model that a Lite could theoretically appear immediately at launch if they wanted it to and still have better overall battery performance and lower price with a smaller display, fewer Bluetooth devices to mandatorily connect to, no dock (with its myriad ICs to facilitate docking), etc. If Nintendo is opting for the process that is being speculated, there isn't really going to be any room for a die shrink within its lifetime and what we see at launch is what Nintendo will be stuck with for the entire lifecycle. But so long as what they're stuck with is good, I don't think that matters.
Initially I thought they removed Paper Mario: Orgami King because they didn't want to harm Paper Mario: TTYD sales when it releases.
But Paper Mario: TTYD has no release date yet, so I think it''s too soon to remove PM:OK from printing.
Unless they're opening up preorders for PM:TTYD soon?
However, that of course doesn't explain Pikmin 3 removal when we got Pikmin 4 not too long ago. I am skeptical we'd get Pikmin 5 so soon, lol.
I appreciate it. It helps me sleep at night. Ironically I have missed the boat on that this time as it’s already 6:30 AM and I HAVENT slept.Always find it funny how blunt you are when you shut down speculation
If we want the battery life to be 2.5 hours at 10W, the battery capacity should be 6757mAh.2.5=4310/1000*3.7/[W]; X=6.3788 [W]
2.5=[mAh]/1000*3.7/10; X=6756.756... [mAh]
yeah games going out of print seems like such a normal natural thing to meI don't think that Nintendo has ever forced one game out of print to make room for the next entry. Three Houses wasn't pulled to make room for Engage. Same with Xenoblade 1 for 3.
I believe that (if the OOP news is true) is just Nintendo starting to clear out software that is probably tapped out in terns if sales. Get ready for the new generation.
Thank you sirAbsolutely nothing to do with Nintendo.
Actually this is a speculation thread, It can be anything that seems possibleI like how they just doubled all the specs and called it good. Clearly it will have a 12.4'' screen, too.
No offense, but I can never understand why there are always replies like this to baseless and fake leak posts. Who cares whether it's normal/reasonable or not? This is supposed to be a leak of factual information. Veracity, not plausibility, is at issue. Being plausible (in one's opinion) doesn't change the fact that it's bullshit, and should be identified and discarded as such.
The tech is the issue. It's hard placing it before 2014. 2015 if you want the same SoC.
The problem is that the further apart the performance profiles are, the more complicated it is to properly optimize for both
Nothing to do with CES.Given the timing it probably wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to assume it has something to do with what’s being showcased at CES. Likely nothing Nintendo though.
Tbh while I think he will sprinkle some info in the predictions video, he usually makes an additional podcast in order to discuss significant information. If/When he's able to talk about substantial news he will announce it like he does pretty much every time. I wouldn't expect his predictions video to satiate the info drought all too much, it might but best practice is to just chill imo.Nate is doing work killing Nintendo speculation this month lmao. I wish that podcast episode would come out sooner rather than later but I will just have to endure. At least if it comes out later the info will hopefully be vetted a ton and more useful.
What do you think ?
(Edit:Sorry if this has already been discussed )

I'd fucking hate it if there was a tacit agreement among leakers to pull a "If you know, you know" statement. You can't do this to me.I wonder if Nate knows something and he’s not speaking because it’s too soon or if he’s for now in the dark because there’s no concrete information being passed around. In any case I’m dying for his Nintendo episode.

I do feel like if leakers knew something about the Switch 2 and spoke about it, it'd be pretty dangerous for them. Nintendo's secrecy means that anything that could be filed under "leaking company secrets" is potential for a lawsuit, at least i believe. That would probably explain the Shareholder spike a couple of weeks ago. NateDrake, DF, NatetheHate and others could just be keeping quiet to keep their hides safe.
I say let the developer decide and give them options. If they want to use 30W or 50W, then go ahead. Nintendo shouldn't limit the power of the device. As long as the device's temps are within the expected threshold, they should just let the developers do whatever they want. You can have the handheld at 9W and docked at 12W but what if at 15W, the game will run at 60FPS, does it mean that we are stuck with 30FPS or unstable framerate? Battery life is a non-issue when it comes to dock mode. The problem is that the further apart the performance profiles are, the more complicated it is to properly optimize for both
In reference to Shareholder Chad's findings about the recent stock spike in December (see his thread on it, it's very good).Shareholder spike?
Oh and btw. unless i got something massively wrong, NateDrake = NatetheHate.
I feel like Another Code is the last "roadbump" we need to pass to get the announcement, since February would be a nice month to sink in the initial thoughts of trailer, just like October - January was for Switch in 2016/2017. I do agree about a reveal event March, yeah.If we get something this month, it would be more towards the end of it. But personally I am thinking if will be February and it will be a Switch focused Direct. I do feel that shortly after or around there will be a teaser for the next system as well with a reveal in March and a release soon after. Personally I hope May as that would be around my birthday .
More logically I feel a end of August/September release.
You know what? I know so little about him. Maybe if we can get to know him and his team we can get a better prediction?I really wonder what furukawa's thought are about promoting the system in such short time, if its late may, however, September is something I won't completely rule out, but May does have more time to get more sales from the whole year and could built something up for the holidays, I assume
Yeah. Nate Drake is NatetheHateIn reference to Shareholder Chad's findings about the recent stock spike in December (see his thread on it, it's very good).
Also, I every time I ask about NatetheHate/Drake, I literally just get the answer "I don't know" so I've just taken to referring to them separately. If they're the same person, then at least now I know now.
It's not just about thermals, it's about binning. They're going to cap frequencies at a level that the vast majority of their produced chips can achieve.I say let the developer decide and give them options. People will just post anything nowdays lol getting to thirsty for a morsel of informationAbsolutely nothing to do with Nintendo.
That was because MS actually showed it to them, and made them sign an NDA. Actually really clever by MS.Just saying this as a long time lurker and enjoyer of this thread but I do think DF John probably knows something, not that he'll say exactly what at this point. The DF crew have many contacts in the industry. Remember they kept quiet about Series S for months despite various aspects about it leaking before its trailer leaked entirely. The tweet could easily be a double bluff - does he actually know something, nah he's just riffing off a Nintendo tweet from years ago (etc) when it could easily be a bit of both!
Anyway... I look forward to hearing some actual Switch 2 news

According to his Wikipedia page, Furukawa was the release manager for the Nintendo Switch. I'm not exactly sure what that entails (there was a Bloomberg article describing things in further detail but it was locked to subscribers only), but it's likely he was at least partially responsible for guiding the Switch to success with a relatively short promotional window of 4-5 months. If that's the case, I don't think he would be too worried about the Switch 2 having a similar promotional cycle. You know what? I know so little about him. Maybe if we can get to know him and his team we can get a better prediction?
I've also been mostly lurking here from time to time, not so much of a person to post frequently myself, but sometimes i'll feel like leaving a comment at least.Just saying this as a long time lurker and enjoyer of this thread but I do think DF John probably knows something, not that he'll say exactly what at this point. In addition, since Switch has never been upgraded significantly since its launch, the market expects that Nintendo is likely to launch a new generation of products in the second half of this year, and some hardware specifications will also evolve, including the processor to be equipped with NVIDIA's T239 chip and equipped with 8GB RA. With M and 64GB of storage space, the battery life will also be greatly improved, and the screen update rate will be increased to 120Hz.
I remember someone told me an unconfirmed rumor about Nintendo having made their own frame-gen for the Switch 2 and with it having VRR. It likely didn't mean anything because... like... no, but it'd be cool if the 120hz screen and Frame-gen tech were both true.So can we assume this is incorrect and way off of what we know?
