Probably the best S1 scene, imo:
They permanently increase your BP, but they also fully restore them on use! It can be handy to keep one or two around for that reason but otherwise yeah, let ‘em ripSo the flower items I use to increase my BP, are these permanent or should I hold on to these items or something?
The timing is definitely different in this remake. I’m having to unlearn over 25 years of muscle memory.Beat Boywer.
Maybe it's due to all my recent SMRPG playthroughs being on the WiiU but the timing for Action Commands has been surprisingly stingy. I still can't get above 12 hits for the Super Jump.
You have no idea how mortifying it was to not complete all 30 hits of the Super Jump challenge in Rose Way.The timing is definitely different in this remake. I’m having to unlearn over 25 years of muscle memory.
They do indeed. Welcome to the future!Did they update the way the inventory works? Do items stack now?
Cool, thanks! They permanently increase your BP, but they also fully restore them on use! It can be handy to keep one or two around for that reason but otherwise yeah, let ‘em rip
Funny because I got the opposite feeling when I went from SMRPG to PM (especially the combat). So, as someone who never played Super Mario RPG and who's first entry is Paper Mario...I kind of feel underwhelmed? It's not the combat, because that's surprisingly keeping me engaged but the "charm" is not really hitting for me. I'm mostly just bored playing through the game.
gamefaqs for the originalAre there still a bunch of weird, obscure items that are hidden behind ridiculous, unexpected tasks you have to perform? And if so, is there a good list of all these that I can follow if I’m going for 100%?
So everything is exactly the same? Is anything missable?gamefaqs for the original
IIRC the only missable is the frog coin you need to jump off the toad's head in the castle hallway early on.So everything is exactly the same? Is anything missable?
Think people were saying this is no longer missable.IIRC the only missable is the frog coin you need to jump off the toad's head in the castle hallway early on.
Seems like everything is the same
Apparently that’s not missable anymore, at least according to Mario Wiki.IIRC the only missable is the frog coin you need to jump off the toad's head in the castle hallway early on.
Seems like everything is the same
Correct. After the Mallow cutscene there is a Toad in the hallway you can jump on.Think people were saying this is no longer missable.
You know that scene in Ratatouille where the tough and jaded food critic tries the ratatouille and is immediately and emotionally transported back in time to happier days?
That is this game for me. Pure nostalgic joy, every second. It’s perfect.
I've played through the first two star pieces since last night and this morning before work. It feels both familiar but also fresh in all the best ways. I'm itching to keep playing it later.
Also, regarding the first major boss,
I never realized Mack/Claymorton was actually a red armored dude on a sword like a pogo stick. I always saw him as a giant talking sword.
It's outputting at 1080p which is the same as Smash, Mario Kart, Tropical Freeze, Splatoon 2/3, Kirby, Mario Wonder..Whoa, this looks SO clean. I'm blown away. Is this outputting at a higher resolution than most Switch games? I'm not super knowledgeable on tech, but it feels like it is.
Made sure to capture it for youThis scene better be kept faithful in all its glory
