Like the sound mixing was bad? The last Ass Creed game I played was Odyssey and I don't recall having any audio issues with that.
IIRC it was all of the audio, but mostly the voices. The voice lines were almost unintelligible, it sounded like it was recorded with a super old phone on speaker mode. I'm fine with subtitles, but the audio itself was so grating I turned the game off and refunded it.

You have to play the game in a theater with well-aligned audio. Ubisoft decided a while ago to stop mixing audio for theaters with substandard audio systems.
this is a Christopher Nolan joke

The Slam Dunk movie was actually really good. Had my nephew and I choking up a bit. I bought volume 1 of the Japanese manga a couple of weeks ago because I'm going to get serous about learning Japanese and sports mangas are good. I also got Doraemon (which will probably be an easy read because I know I won't be reading Slam Dunk off of beginners Japanese).
Never heard a surround sound effect in the theater that convinced my brain something was actually in the theater because I was turning to make sure someone wasn’t actually dribbling a basketball up and down the isle

Currently having a great time bouncing between pikmin 4 and wario land 4. Nintendo needs to make another game as weird and awesome as wario land 4

I actually stopped for the most part until I catch up, Starfield will be the exception. Lots to play for me across 3ds, pc, switch, and ps5. Actually considering off loading my ps5 tbh. Since switching to pc primarily the ps5 doesn’t get a ton of use save for the odd exclusive. Even then I think I’m learning to become okay waiting for the pc release

Awesome? Can't help you. But, hey, let me tell you about Everybody 1-2 Switch...

Great game. But yeah it's in my backlog because I got stuck :D
I finished it an hour ago! I've got some minor complaints regarding some of the puzzle designs, but it's a really good game overall. Well worth the money. Took me a bit over 5h in the end.

Where did you get stuck at? I'll admit that I had to look up one of the levels, as one of the mechanics wasn't 100% clear to me at that point.

There was a good video a while back about where to put digital games:

That said, @Gamecocks625 unless you really want the Nintendo branding you can get the same cards from SanDisk (which is the official partner) for cheaper.

That was an interesting watch! As expected, internal storage wins. Interesting though that the super fast SD isn't any faster than the normal one :p

This is why I’m debating if I’m buying Armored Core at launch

I’m already getting both Mario games this fall and possibly Sonic, I’m feeling like I want to spend at least a few months on my backlog, maybe knock out a meaty JRPG or two (approaching the end of P5R at over 120 hours lol).

Lots to play for me across 3ds, pc, switch
I had to resist the urge to turn on my 3DS again which I randomly came across a few days ago when cleaning a cupboard. With how much I've yet to play both on Switch and PC, firing up the 3DS, too, would probably finish me outright. I still feel this urge to give it a go nonetheless. Miss the little handheld just a bit sometimes.

I somehow hadn't heard of this game, but it looks great and I could use a quick puzzle game about now. Adding it to the list!

Rusty's back, bet you already knew that
he's back and he's subtle as a heart attack
Hank and Dean coming up 5th Avenue
say the name: Ventures with attitude

Their crib is ill, it'll send you to dementia
now gather 'round and give a "Go team Venture"
arch enemies stay off their back
'cause they've got skills
and Rusty don't play that

Wasn't my intention to have the Iwata balloons up for most of the month. Feels good to have my normal avatar back.

You all weren't kidding about August being a fairly dead month for games 😮
Well normally it is, but this year is kind of nuts :

  • Baldur's Gate 3
  • Wrestlequest
  • Stray Gods
  • Bomb Rush Cyberfunk
  • Blasphemous 2
  • Armored Core 6
  • Sea of Stars
  • Starfield (September 1st early access, close enough :p)

And more!

Only one on that list on my to consider list is wrestlequest and it’s on my wait for a sale list

Yea but how many of those are coming to Switch 🙃
Still a good number! Just not the big ones. This just feels like a really stacked August across all platforms, especially compared to most years when there's like... very little coming out of note.

I'm mostly teasing because I was trying to compile a list for the next ST and there's some, I think, solid indies hitting Switch next month. But not much else!

So yeah, like we were saying, nothing is coming out in August.

Yeah, if you're looking for a big Switch release in August... there's not much there. Lots of great Indies though!

We're in that weird period on Nintendo's calendar where they aren't publishing anything for over two months despite otherwise having a fairly packed 2023 release schedule when considering full releases and notable DLC expansions. The gap I see is between July 21 (Pikmin 4) and either September 22 (Pikmin 1+2 physical) or October 6 (Detective Pikachu Returns).

I still wonder if there's something coming or if Nintendo truly just felt it was better to crowd other months and leave the summer (for markets like NA/EU/JP) more open.

I could see a shadow drop in September. Like a F-Zero GX port

Ok level 5, don’t go vapor on me, give me a megaton Musashi wired release date in the next month please

Agreed. I think between possible Pokemon, Indie, and Direct presentations over the next two months, there's a lot of space for surprise, albeit maybe smaller, launches that Nintendo marketing could push.

I’m picking up Rhapsody 2 and 3, Sea of Stars, and Vampire Survivors on Switch and Armored Core on PS5. Seems like a cool month to me! I think either the Pokemon DLC or the Splatoon DLC might slip into August too.

Thinking about picking up the physical version Drainus from Jpn - and think I might just add another game to my purchase...

Wanted to add Ikaruga but it seems it's out of print, but are there any other jpn exclusive releases with multi language support you can recommend?

September only having the physical launch of the Pikmin ports is definitely a little unusual. Wouldn't surprise me to see some more small titles join the release schedule. Pac-man 99 closes down on October 8th, so I'd expect another 99 or NSO exclusive title to replace it sometime around then. Pac-man 99 itself launched a few days after Super Mario Bros 35 was shuttered.

September could see something casual drop out of nowhere (indieszero x EPD 4?), but the missing element for Nintendo's later year line up at the moment seems like something niche and enthusiast facing. We'll see.
I'm not buying any games in August (because I technically already bought Sea of Stars back in early 2021)
Me too! I used this to justify buying 3 games this month (Oxenfree II, Pikmin 4, Expanse).

Shmups?

Raiden III, Akai Katana Shin, batsugun saturn tribute, castle of shikigami 2 all are multilanguage

We all love gaming leaks here, but today we had a rare instance of amusement park leaks.

To this day, and for every coming day for the rest of my life, i was and will be grateful that my kids inherited my fear of heights, so i could and will continue to be able to avoid these hell-spawns of "fun rides".
