Finishing TOTK has left me with that same feeling as when you get to the end of an amazing book or series, and it's almost like being in mourning, saying farewell to an experience you'll never truly have again.

But then that's part of what makes it so special; its finite, fleeting nature, just as with any once in a lifetime experience. The goodbye is the bittersweet closure that seals it as a cherished memory.

This vinyl just in!

  • Myst OST
  • YS VIII OST
  • Grave of the Fireflies OST
  • Another World OST

Square, please put FF Pixel Remaster on sale on the eShop.
Sony, please put up the sale for the PS5 in the US.
Nintendo....remember that Famicom Detective Club exists and at least let me buy the bundle through the voucher program.

The hype approaches

Give me Shin God Steel Jeeg with a dub! The lost Fzero GP Legend dub! Apparently Digimon is expected

I have not watch like the past 3 seasons of anime, but this season I am watching like 5 lol. The selection this season is not bad: Zom 100, My Happy Marriage, SpellBlade, Undead Girl and Mushoku Tensei. I am also glad that some of them release on the same day, makes it easier.

Hypothetically what could they add to a Mario Kart 9 to change things up? Few ideas 💡:

. Add a story mode similar to splatoon, where there are challenges and different things to do besides races, with a semi open world hub (option to get out of cart)
. Keep classic Mario kart modes (for those who don’t like change)
. Add a double dash feature, except one player has the option to get out of the kart and set up traps to cause mayhem
.???

What do you think they could add to shake up the formula?

More to gush about, I guess. Stuff never ends with this game, but despite not being into BotW’s much, I think I’m starting to consider Tears of the Kingdom to have one of my favourite soundtracks of all time.

Aside from a few songs, I have only in three instances before listened to game soundtracks on platforms outside of the games themselves, those being Final Fantasy VIII, NieR Automata and Undertale. But I took the soundtrack of TotK for a spin on YouTube and now I’m completely hooked on listening to it again and again and again.

I think the major point for me is that it does what The Last of Us Part 2 did, taking sparse, minimalist and completely analog music and sprinkle it with some subtle electronic soundscapes, such as synths and ambient soundwaves. Like, it has these subdued, piano-dominated melodies and now and then, a synth sort of subtly sneaks in into the background. Like, take the music in the depths for example. It has the piano notes near the lightroots, and then when you walk away, there’s this “whoammm” sound in the background that adds a ton to the atmosphere.

The boss music tracks are also great examples. There’s so much going on, they’re hectic tracks with, like, a zillion instruments, but every now and then, a synth sneaks into the track and adds a note or two, and if makes all the difference for me.

Not to mention the way the game works with leitmotifs and repeated melodies. It manages to work the main theme, in any way or form, into a few tracks and it makes for an audio experience where everything has this sense of cohesion. And of course there are the instances with old music as well - the traces of the main Zelda theme and Zelda’s Lullaby that are here and there are soooooo effective. They even found a way to sneak in the OoT Ganondorf battle music into the boss theme in this game!

So much more to say but yeah, what an amazing, amazing soundtrack deserving of tons of praise.

I wonder if aliens have a favorite anime
They probably watch soap opera's like it's anime. They be like:
"Hey, saw the latest episode of As The World Turns? Damn that's fuuuuuuuucked up!" or something.

The Discotek announcement today that’s my hyped must grab. Been wanting to watch this one

Sigh wish we could get an Another Century’s episode collection on switch. It was in one XD

they could make a story mode like CTR

Just caught a youtube video that mentioned them and it reminded me...

A) Is there anything weirder, more unique, or takes bigger swings narratively and theme-wise on the SNES than the Quintet Trilogy? Especially Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma, those games go to some absolutely wildly dark and strange places sometimes. Even if it doesn't always work, the giant swings they take are kind of mind-boggling for SNES games.

B) Will we ever see these games again? Actraiser got a remake, but the Soul Blazer/world reincarnation trilogy hasn't been touched in ages and would make a great addition to NSO or a trilogy digital release or something.

Are those games in a rights limbo atm?

The fact Square Enix were able to re-release Actraiser suggests they may well have the rights to the other Quintet games; given Square Enix don't seem to be on board with NSO, that sadly means we likely wouldn't see them on the service unless Nintendo make a special effort to secure them.

It's also possible the rights to the games are tied up with the former president of Quintet, who has supposedly disappeared or has proved difficult to contact, thus preventing a re-release. Though this an idea posited in an interview with someone who worked on the games, so I'm not sure how trustworthy that is (source).

Love how PC games can just stop working suddenly and not tell you what’s wrong. Truly the best place to play games.

What I would love to see:
  • A career mode would be cool
  • A 'design your own cart' editor
  • Mini games!
  • A mode where you have to hit certain goals on a track for a score on an online leaderboard, for example:
    • Hit three racers with a red shell
    • 30 second drift
    • Do 5 unique stunts in a row (if stunting would be a possibility of course)
  • A cinema mode where every race can be watched afterwards complete with narration
  • New power ups like for example a transform mode that changes your cart temporarily in a waterscooter in order for you to take certain shortcuts on water
  • Destructible tracks so that tracks change in an ongoing race

Quite possibly, although I thought Actraiser was too and we got that remake recently, so I'm not sure.
S-E is so freaking weird when it comes to Enix IP. Like, they sit on a treasure trove of awesome games and they do absolutely nothing with it.
Hugging my complete Quintet collection right now

Can someone explain to me what a "lever bee" (sp?) is? I've been googling and searching for an hour and I cannot for the life of me find out what a "lever bee" / "leverby" is

If you're serious then here:

But if you're not serious and I just took some sort of bait, then congratulations 👍

Just realised that I accomplished literally nothing today except get my daily win in Splatoon 3. Didn't play anything else. Didn't read anything. Didn't watch anything except for TikTok.

:(

Just googled and holy cow, you're right! I did not notice that back in the day. 😅
One of the worst parts of my brain is that I still remember a lot about the year two competing arcade racers were released (Blur and Split/Second), received rave reviews, then promptly walked into a volcano.

Edit: Never played either one.
