My hype train

"Why'd you do it, kid? Why'd you send out Everybody 1-2-Switch to die with minimal fanfare and publicity after sitting on it for so long?"

I can't believe that I changed from #teamjuly to #teamjune in the last second and finally will win. As an old #teamjanuary, is good to win sometimes.

Deserting is for people without principles. I am here, in the TeamJuly boat with the water coming up to my neck. But I'm still here.

I voted never, not because I never expected another full direct, but because I knew most of y'all didn't deserve it for not having faith.

Because someone mentioned a new version of SMTV, that might also mean that it gets a multiplatform release. And while I have bought most switch rpgs, this is one I skipped since everyone is saying it runs so horribly.

RPGs are also my favorite genre, that is why any information on a port would be welcome.
If there's actually a complete version coming, I'm hyped.

The game ran fine on Switch, it had a couple FPS drops while exploring, but nothing game breaking.
It has really nice level design and I loved exploring the levels. The Pokémon level designers should really study it with how bland the world has been in the past few games outside of Arceus, and SMTV mostly takes place in deserts.
The biggest issue the game has is that it does feel like they ran out of time towards the the end.
It's polished but you can tell they had to drop some concepts like the dog demon you get pretty lategame for the level it is at, which was apparently supposed to be ridable at one point?
A complete version could fix a lot, even if I would prefer a sequel like apocalypse.

Dunno if I would expect it in a direct though?
Maybe that "complete version" is just a port to the other platforms with the DLC bundled.

Everything I read about it was always about people complaining about the performance. Sounds like the problems were exagerated. Still, I'm glad I waited. I double and triple dip too often on consoles (dragon quest xi 3 times, Skyrim 3 times, persona 3+4+5 times 3 times and many others), , so I should try to wait for the best version more often.

I voted October because I wanted to have my own #team even though I've never believed it would be the direct month. I've always knew Lukas to be right

I ate these books UP as a kid. Still have a couple of them!

I think the thing I liked most of all was how, in proper CYOA fashion, so GRISLY the Game Overs could be. Mario getting tossed into a field of Munchers by Roy in one book, the Hammer Bros. knocking out Luigi and taking him home so they can have a "pot of plumber soup" in another, so much fun! And played up just how darn scary the Koopas and their ilk could be believably, if they were written that way.

100%. I remember them being pretty scary as a kid. Wonderful memories. A couple of the Zelda ones were good too.

The new 2D Mario should simply be named “Super Mario Bros 5” and should be the true successor to Super Mario 3 & World. I didn’t hate the “New” series but it was a massive step back from a franchise that was once the best in class 2D platforming series. Time to return to form with a bunch of new ideas & modernizations that make Mario the king of 2D platforming once again.

Would love if we got a Detective Pikachu port ahead of the sequel since I didn’t play the first one but love mystery games.

"The Crystal Trap" especially stood out for me because Zelda got to be in the starring role. And back in those days of Zelda media being defined by the DiC cartoon, it wasn't weird at all that Zelda had to take point and bail out Link for a change of pace.

...Taking notes, Aonuma-san~?

if the world is fair, we will have in this Direct a pikachu with the voice of Reynolds and a Mario with the voice of Chris Patt

Super Mario RPG HD-2D gets announced but due to some backroom deal with Sony, two versions get released one is the Nintendo version and the other is the Nintendo-less version with all Nintendo characters being removed and replaced with Square characters.

New Soup DS was quite literally Super Mario Advance 5, and I don't think it was a step back. The constant iteration on it with few changes are what killed it. With the exception of New Soup 2, individually the series has three stellar 2D platformers, but the saturation of them was absurd.

I doubt they'll go with a solid number now, since it's hard to draw the line. Is Yoshi's Island the true "5"? Is World "4"? Is Yoshi's Island DS 6, and New Soup DS 7? Are we up to 11?

In terms of titling I'm expecting something straightforward but numberless. Maybe "Super Mario Bros. Switch"

That's too much like sonic.
Also Nintendo doesn't like ignoring his gaming history like that.
