please sir, I want some more Tears of the Kingdom: Master Quest

I think the most egregious DLC I've personally witnessed was the From Ashes Day 1 DLC for Mass Effect 3. There is no way that DLC was intended to be DLC. The party member you get from that is probably one of the most important party members to the entire story and lore of the series. There are main missions that are perfectly suited to him being in your party at the time.

Nintendo were pretty determined not to tell people about Tears of the Kingdom until the last possible minute, and I assume that desire for secrecy plays into any DLC plans, too. We won't know about it until Aonuma's in our houses at night, feverishly scratching an eShop card so he can see the download code and input it into the Switch.

From Ashes and Leviathan both felt like main story missions that had been cut and repackaged as DLC to maximise the potential return on the game.

Nintendo's Japanese twitter account hasn't tweeted anything yet, please don't complain about the Nintendo Direct being cancelled until Nintendo Japan tweets something later today which it may likely be more info about Everybody 1-2 Switch game.

wednesday june 14th 2023 is a day that has been marked on my calendar since 2021, i don’t know who or what put it there. but it’s there. it could be positive sign, it could be a negative sign. it could be a nothing sign. but the fact that i don’t remember why it’s marked specifically is very strange to me.

Eh not really. Could be anywhere into next week, and June stuff didn’t inherently follow the normal announcement timing anyways. Could be announced tomorrow. A NSO n64 announcement would’ve been more of a wrinkle tho
'twas but a humorous joke

That's my birthday ;)

Everyday without a direct announced is the closest day we are to a new direct and team September winning

Back in my day, they made us sit on the lawn and stare at a flag on Flag Day. One time I had to write flag poetry. These experiences gave me a lifelong dislike of flags.

Why tho? The only egotistical thing he does is host the shows himself and that’s probably, more than anything, a holdover from his TV hosting days like 20 years ago. As for misinformation, I have to disagree. Maybe I’m biased because I’m such a fan of his previous investigative journalism but his Final Hours investigations back in the 90s/2000s were some of the best games writing I grew up reading.
I never get the ego accusation when the guy goes on reddit and live Twitter Q&A's to ask literal randos on the internet what he could do better in his shows next time.

He's just a dork that loves games like the rest of us who worked his ass off to be lucky enough to run shows like he does.

I think it is because he markets his showcase and had a history of talking them up but the shows turned out to be pretty meh.

A little 'Direct Mini' in July to debut the long-rumoured Kirby game that'll take the big November slot, Mario Kart DLC and other little bells and whistles, maybe some Splatoon 3 DLC too.

Late September, now, that's when the real news will be coming on Kirby, and perhaps F-Zero HD if we're lucky.

Is this thread really going to be open until late July?

Oh god, Project 10 Dollars. Those were dark days. The amount of fuckery EA pulled with Bioware then was something else.

Might be time to take a break from Arkham/Eldritch Horror mate

Rumored Kirby game?

This was from ages back, around the time Jeff Grub was guessing about a July direct. It's probs not been discussed much because Kirby comes quite frequently.
I really doubt there's another Kirby game's coming. HAL just released a big game last year and Vanpool released their final one before getting dissolved. I think next Kirby game also will be 3D and for the successor. By HAL.

Considering Hal had Forgotten Land and the HD remaster with new content of Wii Adventure i dont exist any possibilities of a Kirby game this year beyond maybe the eshop

I suppose Kirby Epic Yearn HD?? But that seems more likely for 2024 or 2025 when Switch 2 will need a kirby game

I did a Youtube search for New Kirby Game rumor with a this month upload date filter and I didn't see any stupid "HUGE Kirby LEAKS!!!" videos so if there is a Kirby rumor, it's certainly very obscure.

HAL tends to make smaller games in between their mainline releases, so we can maybe expect another spinoff sometime next year.

I feel Kirby deserves a rest, theres been like what 6-7 Kirby games on Switch if we include the digital only ones?
Forgotten Lands was such a great game I hope they go all in on their next effort for Switch 2. Looking very much forward to that.

I kind of feel the same for Xenoblade and Fire Emblem tbh, they've been very prominent on the system - What I want next from them is next gen game releases to see what they can offer
