I remain June. I shall not be moved. I don’t care when the next general direct is, I just want it to have Metroid Prime 4. I know it’s all I talk about, but it’s time damn it!

Everyone can believe in whatever they can, however doing a July Direct would essentially mean doing it after Pikmin is out, so last week of July. Which would essentially break their pre-TGS Direct (unless that one is Partner, it could be).

That said, I will never leave team June. Team June for live, I am proud of you everyone.
I can see that being the new wave for Nintendo, especially since the timing of the...well "pre-TGS" Direct was pretty explicitly about promoting partner games, particularly of the JP variety. But if they do only two generals a year in Feb and July, would they really announce Q1 games in July? Maybe they'll only go as far out as January in these new "July general" Directs. That way a week or so after the last dated January game, they'll follow up with the usual February Direct.

Although I do think they'll always have at least 1-2 Metroid Prime 4, Zelda, or some dream game that's coming the following year (2024 in this case, maybe DK).

July outta nowhere - what a twist!

My flag is firmly in the ground for Team June at this point, even if my hopes are fading, but I’m glad there’s at least rumblings of something happening this Summer.

Maybe they can use June as a month to announce their upcoming first party stuff

And the July for third party partnes.

Or use June purely to market Pikmin 4 lol.

I bet we'll get a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe booster course next wave trailer next week and we'll spiral into chaos.

I'm not going to change my vote from June, but July was always my second pick. Recently it's sort of been Nintendo's hardware announcing month.

Jokes on you all, I changed my vote from September to July before Jeff Grubb said a word.

The things I truly believe in my heart of hearts

-there’s Nintendo something soon
-Jeff Grubb is trustworthy
-Team June for Life

NateDrake vs Jeff Grubb...

Just like dinosaur bones and evolution, Grubb is only here to test your faith in @LukasManak22.
He did the same thing back in September if some of you remember with September 1st theory. Yes, at that time he succeded but that will not happen this time, I gained some new abilities since that time, like ascending into Nintendo's marketing or recalling our enemies and convincing them of joining our team.

Who do you believe in more? The man who lost his hair to Samus or the one who brought us the final Tears of the Kingdom trailer? I know who I'm giving my spirt orbs to

Again, I win whether it’s June or July. I’m on Team June. My birthday is in July. I cannot lose.

August crowd... stay strong... deep breaths...
I voted on August, but it was more of a late August/ early July vote. I was only confident that it had to be after Pikmin 4 (like how last year's preTGS Direct was after Splat 3), but also before their 3 month earnings release (8/3). So it came down to 7/26 or 8/2.

If this comes to pass, I feel more comfortable saying that Nintendo doesn't really care about the annual investor's meeting in June and that the earning's releases are more important. Remember, they announced the Monster Hunter-partner showcase mini at the end of their investor meeting (which was Sep 17th).

Keeping my vote for September. I expect twitter drops, partner directs, mini directs, etc until September. If we get a full General Direct before September I will be excited none the less. Happy to be wrong.

Nate said he didn’t hear any direct for June and we’re in June. That was good enough for me to know no direct was happening this month. Nintendo IS NOT obligated to do a direct in June.

Their next big game is in July. July 6 and July 13 makes the most sense for the next direct.

Ya know what, with this new information, I now feel confident in predicting Nintendo's lineup until end of 2024 like the rest of y'all. Before I do, I honestly just wanna reflect for a minute: I, and many of us make these predictions all the time, but why?, why keep making and retooling predictions about a specific timeframe or event? Idk, it's just darn fun! 6 months ago, I posted a nearly 30 page slideshow predicting Nintendo's 2022, and it's already laughably incorrect, a Direct Mini in February? Mario Baseball in June? What a joke!! But I do it anyway, and now that I'm on YouTube, you better believe Imma do it all in video form come the start of next year, so let's get right to it!

June 2023:
  • Given up on a Direct, just, no reason to expect one anymore, what Jeff said? That's a partner showcase, but for once, it'll come after Nintendo's announcements, so we're back to weekly Twitter Drops
  • Next week we'll see Booster Course Pass wave 5 announced with a June 26th release date (they'll have LA, Athens, PPC, and one of the new Tour tracks, for the data miners wondering)
  • The week after will be a Pokemon Presents with SV DLC talk and whatever Detective Pikachu Switch is being given a firm release date sometime in October (alongside the 1-2 Switch gameplay)
  • Nintendo will confirm new hardware releasing next fiscal year at the meeting
  • June will end with a shadow drop announcement of Super Mario Party 2, out September

July 2023:
  • One last major announcement before Pikmin takes over Nintendo, this time with a "tune in tomorrow" announcement beforehand: Donkey Kong Adventure, EPD 8's 2D game, which will launch in November
  • Then Pikmin 4 takes over Nintendo for a bit until it's finally released
  • Jeff event was indeed a Partner Showcase, dropping July 26th

August:
  • Marketing begins for Mario Party
  • Side Order gets a Sept. release date

September:
  • Direct happens, revealing Kid Icarus Uprising HD (February 2024), FE4 HD (Spring 2024) Totk DLC expansion + amiibos announced (Spring 2024), F-Zero GX HD (Shadowdrop) closing on gameplay for Prime 4 (2024)
  • Side Order, Mario Party, SV wave 1 and GX HD release

October:
- Detective Pikachu is released

November:
  • Donkey Kong Adventure is released
  • Last wave of 8DX BCP is released

December:
  • Totk expansion p1 + amiibos released
  • We all get disappointed at TGA lol

January:
  • SV wave 2 is released
  • FE4 HD gets a firm April released date

February:
  • DIRECT... Mini Partner Showcase GOTTEM
  • Uprising HD is released

March:
  • Totk expansion p2 released
  • TTYD HD Twitter announcement, out May

April:
- FE4 HD is released

May:
  • TTYD HD is released
  • Shortly after TTYD HD is released, New console showcase
  • We learn Prime 4 is a cross gen launch title, alongside EPD 8 3D Mario, and an EPD 4 casual game (game ends up being mid 6/10)
  • Splatoon 4 is vaguely teased for new console with a December 2024 release date
  • EPD 9 is making a new IP which is out Spring 2025, alongside a new Mario Kart which is just a CG teaser with a 2025 window, both for new console
  • Pokemon SV is getting an enhanced port (with all the DLC) to new console in November, with new content that acts as a third wave to the expansion pass
  • New console is out October
  • During a Treehouse Live showcasing new console, Nintendo also shares details on Splatoon 3's final season and reveals a new Mario Baseball coming to Switch in August
  • New console out October 2024

June:
- Nothing of note

July:
- Nothing of note

August:
- Baseball drops, is mid, move on

September:
- Marketing ramps up for new console

October & November:
- The release dates I mentioned and that's about it

December:
  • Splatoon 4 is released
  • New 3D Kirby is announced at TGA with a Spring 2024 release date

if you make it to the heat death of the universe, tag me when you're able to play Beyond Good and Evil 2 and tell me how it is
If I can remember to do so between sessions of Chrono Break and Mother 4, I will. 👍

I'll die on the stupid ass August hill fuck it y'know
Considering what climate change is doing this summer (it was already 100° for me in May, Nova Scotia of all places is on fire, etc) we might all find ourselves dying on a hill come August.

As long as everyone let me have my month to lose by myself you can flip flop months every way you want. I'll be the lone #TEAMOCTOBER!
BTW This Grubb and Nate development is interesting 👀.

They are not doing Direct week or 2 before Pikmin. We learned this last September when they did it after Splatoon was out, very last minute, just day before TGS, with only 24hours announcement time.

Nate (seemingly) unironically musing that this could be the case broke me

Gamescom could have nothing
Lmao I had the same exact thought. They are crazy enough to do that (though I do believe something new will be there one way or another).

I am not leaving anything though, I even said couple of times, even after this "latest news" that if there is no June Direct am leaving Famiboards forever. The promise is promise, and am dead serious on this one.
Regardless of what happens, I just want to commend you on your admirable conviction. It’s been an honor fighting along side you, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat 🫡

Isn't there some rumbling that there won't be a Direct, but different branding like a Digital Event this summer? I thought I read that somewhere on Fami this morning, either here or in the Hardware Thread.

Point is, Nate could say he hasn't heard of "a Direct" when he very well has heard of something different coming. Anything is possible.

I'm not tryina twist Nate's words or anything, just saying like, seriously anything's possible yall

Hey famiboards, long time no see. I actually deleted my old account and made a new one, but I figured I had to chip in because arent you all literally ignoring Nate pretty much outright saying he is team June straight up like last page. He literally made allusion to him voting in that poll not being a mistake and said that the loyal should stay on team June. That seems about as direct as you can get without saying it outright.

Anyway thats all I had to say lol, I probably will not be very active anymore, but I did want to chip in here

Yeah, but while not on the same caliber as either of those games, the February 2023 Direct was two weeks before Kirby's RTD DX

I'm more of the idea that Nate is just joining in on the fun to be honest. Nate isn't here purely for the sake of giving us teases and hints, he's a human being like all the rest of us (including me, yes, I'm human don't question it)
