Eh, the group has changed and cycled out over the years and leaks/leak worship have, for better and for worse, gone down significantly. It's definitely old guard trivia imo
Next you’re going to tell me some people don’t remember Lucy the Metroid-loving dog, smh

since it's a speculation thread

if TTYD and GX remasters are real do you expect them to be closer to the Zelda remasters (HD uprez ) or Prime Remastered? (new textures, models, and lighting)
I would pretty confidently say the former. Prime was a very special case.

Closer to the latter. Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is probably a better comparison point though.

oh yeah playstation exclusive DQ is a disaster waiting to happen. then again i would say playstation exclusive castlevania is also a bad idea and thats happening so...
Well DQ has more to lose. I really don’t think Square would be dumb enough to make DQ PS-exclusive. Unless Sony ponies up a metric ton of cash.

TTYD would be like Prime, GX would be an HD uprez

Explain yourself, I need the context
Nate’s mentioned on era, here and in the podcast he was from Rhode Island. I’m pretty sure we even have had discussions about him being a Yankees fan in the heart of Red Sox territory. I guess I just remember the more random geographical things people say though.

Nintendo’s not spending that kind of money and time to make them like Prime Remastered lol. Prime Remastered is the anomaly. WWHD/TPHD are more the norm and that’s what TTYD and F-Zero GX remasters will be closer too.

Especially, with F-Zero I’m not putting much money into that.

To be honestly I think it would be the other way around. Ttyd already will look good simply impressed. F zero gx is ugly as hell, it needs some extra love and I really doubt that this will be something they throw out to day, in a way this would probably be like samus returns for f zero.

yeahed (or yahahad) for this specifically
Especially the cutscenes nee, there is no way Nintendo actually release that with those intact, they are either removed or redone.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about skip to 7:35

I've also mentioned the glory that is coffee milk.

Honestly I was thinking more that TTYD sells more, so it will probably get more of the effort
I see, I personally think it’s done on a case by case basis.

Ttyd can really be a straight port and it would be fine, both Metroid prime and f zero gx call for the improvement becuase their realistic graphics have aged much worse than stylized ones like tttyd and krtdl.

Depends on who does the port as well, I at least think they will try to make people buy gx as kind of a “buy it now or you’ll never see captain falcon again” kinda thing

Well we just learned Prime sold ~1 mil in 2 months, not that these weren't greenlit before that and circumstances but I honestly feel F-Zero would sell worse (tho maybe the withdrawal has different situation, if Prime remastered existed in a world with no Dread...?) so

TTYD just needs a simple upres visuals-wise, its basically possible to have "HD" PM64 mods these games are not known for graphical fidelity, it's style they excel with

So are we to expect Metroid 2 and 3 remasters? What is the consensus?
The word on the street is for whatever reason only Prime was done and I think the current expectation is 2 and 3 to be the more typical thought when you hear "remaster", like just the og games in HD

Though after the Galaxy 2 skip tbh I wouldn't be shocked if it's just Prime 1 and Prime 4 with the middle parts totally missing

but def don't expect Prime 2 and 3 to get that treatment

Realising 3 separate Prime games before 4 was always an impossible and even stupid thing to do

I think that Prime 2 still can be done in Prime 1 style, especially if it the first Metroif on Switch 2(very probable either that or Metroid 6)

Prime 3 for me have no hope, all the budget will go to the controls

I have to hope they'd use the fact they're ports to make it a Prime 2 + 3 package deal, releasing a remaster with new assets all over for 40 is a totally different story from 2 HD upres gcn/wii games

The problem of those duble packages is that they never happen with Nintendo, wr talked about it also with Zelda TP and WW and let's face it is not going to happen, they are going to make us pay for both

I mean that's Zelda, even before BOTW the series was much bigger, I think even priced at 40 a simple uprez of Prime 2 or 3 would not do good at all, let alone 60 (also if its standalone and 60 it'll be inexcusable next to full on remaster at 40, I do wonder what logic caused that since they're fully willing to do 60 for HD versions of even Wii games)

I think people should remove Prime 2 and 3 from the near or even far future

I honestly think that yes, Nintendo probably have the Idea or intention of putting Prime 2 and 3 on a modern system, but I honestly dont think that have done anything yet

Like i dont think Iron galaxy is doing them, i dont think that Retro is doing them, i think Prime 4 is the only Prime game in active dev

Also probably Metroid 6,

So i dont think Nintendo looked Prime 1 remastered being at 40 honestly, there is no plan to me just a simple "yes will bring Prime 2 and 3 o modern system, someday....somehow..."

I mean Team Ninja could make a game featuring this bad boy?

super-smash-bros-ganondorf.gif

I would play a game with Ganandorf as the main character…

NGL, I’ve often thought how cool an action game with Ganondorf as the PC would be. Lore-heavy and exploring how growing up as the sole male Gerudo in the tribe and being a sort of a god king, excluded yet revered, only due to gender, influenced his character into becoming the villain we know him as. I think it could be very interesting if done right.

So are we to expect Metroid 2 and 3 remasters? What is the consensus?

Eventually maybe but not by Retro and probably more of an HD Remaster than the visual remake of MPR (though potentially visual remasters using Retro's work as a benchmark by the support studio). I would expect MP4 to come first before anymore remasters.

Team June because there’s only so much excitement I can drum up for DLC after Pikmin launches.

I think late June/ Early July but a partner showcase like we got last year (which I very much enjoyed)

Hopefully TotK can keep me busy because it looks like I won't be buying anymore games this year.

New hardware being off the table until Q2 2024 at the earliest just further strengthens my belief that there are H2 first-party games that need introducing before September.

My take away as well. I imagine the lack of 2H 2023 announcements has less to do with there being nothing to show, and more a result of Nintendo wanting most of the focus for the first half of this year to be on the Mario movie and TotK.

My guess is that Nintendo has officially gone full coast mode and seriously thinks they can last the rest of the year with DLC and remasters, some surprise 3rd party exclusives, and MP4 as their big holiday title using TotK and the Mario movie for momentum. If the reports are true that Nintendo is doing nothing next month, they'll probably do social media announcements through the Summer

With an OT Title like this, I expect Adam Drake from Body Harvest (N64, DMA Design / Rockstar North) to get a remake.

Well, about that...
My apologies for asking, but should this actually be taken as a hint that you have no knowledge of a Direct happening in June yet or was it just a joke given the post you quoted?
My initial impression was the latter, or rather that there wasn't enough to deduce any positve or negative meaning behind those words.

September: Paper Mario 2 HD - Shut the Fans up for a Thousand Years
October: Animal Crossing: A Less Rubbish Party Game
November: a 2D Mario that might be new (hooray) or could be New (ugh)
December: Rhythm Heaven 10 or whatever

F Zero GX HD is unlovingly punted into January 2024

No hardware before Spring '24 definitely makes the next few months super interesting because Nintendo will surprise us one way or another.
