Performance for the most part is rather solid, but we did notice some instances when using the Ultrahand where the frame rate took a noticeable hit. It's not like it broke the game or ruined our enjoyment at all, but it would be nice to see such wrinkles ironed out.

The damn has broken...there are videos that show a lot of new stuff...time to freeze myself.

Imagine ... if there so much new stuff in those first 2 hours already, and Nintendo is okay with that being shown/talked about ... what does the player await further in the game?

There's something really special about seeing something that fabled in motion, haha. Like "oh, it actually exists and works, and does have lots of things that were not in BOTW".

I'm genuinely surprised that Nintendo allowed to show 1 new ability (I haven't seen it in motion only the icon).

This game is going to be so big.

1 thing does concern me is that apparently the controls are rough?

I had to remind myself of that!

Just watched ‘most’ of Zeltiks video and any concerns of world traversal have gone lol

Still no mention of the ‘D’ word but the embargo seems very strict on anything story related so that’s what I’m going to hold onto for now.

Just over 17 days 😭

From 1 to 10 how spoliery is given that for me 10 is "the gachapon machine is used to: ..."?
In Zeltiks video he explicitly says what that does. I wouldn’t say there is a huge amount of spoilers, but if that’s where you draw the line then it’s time to dip

Watched IGN and Zeltik's and I'm in awe. There's just so much. I'm infinitely more excited than I even was for BOTW in the weeks before, which is saying a LOT.

Brazil over at the old forum said playing TotK makes BotW feel "small and limited".

Cross-thread quoting myself, cause it feels like an important, non-spoilery thing:

Also, for everyone who is weary about all the crafting:

The Guardian preview flat out says you can play TotK just like you played BotW and ignore crafting most of the time.

Lay rest your fears, crafting-opponents.

I loved BOTW with all my heart but even just these previews do seem to confirm that. Combat in particular not only looks infinitely more creative (also saying a lot compared to BOTW) but also the incentive to engage with combat is also dramatically increased with the rewards you get from enemies overall and also specific ones.

Worse than BOTW performance-wise but not by much. Visually it looks like the original but it feels fresh imo

According to Brazil over at the old forum, the performance issue was from Nintendo's B-roll material. He said what he played was smooth.

That's not to say it will run flawless 30fps the whole time, just that the video previews might not be a good indicator for performance speculation.

After previews I probably won’t enjoy this game as much as I thought after trailer 3.

Not digging combat:
Fuse is immersion breaking and weapons are kind of dumb.
Heavy menu work.
Infinite apple eating is back
Infinite food eating in the menu is back
Bow breaks again

Sandbox will probably be fun but fun isn’t enough for me in a Zelda game.

My hopes now are dungeons and story. But probably it will be like BOTW, a fun game but didn’t give me an ever lasting impression.

I can't look 🫣

What's the general consensus? Crazy shit? GOTG material?
Absolutely amazing. Only thing am missing as of now is a confirmation of if HD Rumble in the game. I myself wasn't planning looking at previews but they are not that spoilery as I thought. Basically it's just a snippet of ground, and others are the sky islands with uses of the abilities. They aren't even allowed to show the starting area Aonuma played. But yeah, I was always the defender of EPD3 it was up until the final trailer when some truly realized they were not building 6 years just for DLC or whatever these comments were.

I think I’m happy with what we know now.

I’d love confirmation of dungeons and whatever, but like you I think I have enough faith that what I want will be present. There’s enough evidence of QoL improvements from BotW feedback that I’m confident a lot of my complaints from BotW will be answered.

TotK is really going to make BotW redundant 😳

Skill Up's preview did mention performance wasn't great tho, he even said that it dipped to what felt like 15 fps occasionally while playing it, and he said it's kinda immersion breaking.

I'm so glad that they didn't show more of the tutorial islands: now I won't be rushing my way through my first hour of playthrough again :)

Still not going to look at the artbook, but for the people that did see all or most of it, do the previews show a lot of what remained in the art book or is there still a lot left that hasn't been show?

there's still an awful lot from the artbook that hasn't been shown
