Discussion Nate Drake hints about F zero in 2023.

So, we are supposedly meant to be getting

Wind Waker HD
Twilight Princess HD
Metroid Prime HD
F-Zero GX HD
Kid Icarus Uprising HD

Would love these all to be released, been waiting a long time on some of these though.

I’ve been here and there for every f zero rumour for the last decade and I chose to believe every single one. Why?? Because it is owed to me. GX made me buy a GameCube. Thank you for this great news! @NateDrake I’m on this train!

For the people who like to attack leakers, just think for one second about Miyamoto claiming Pikmin 4 was coming soon. And it still hasn't released yet. Between that time and when it was revealed, Miyamoto could technically be a liar like how people attack leakers. At the end of the day, shit changes within companies. If you work any job, the executives or decision makers often switch around or change course on a whim. It wouldn't always make sense to go with the first idea that comes to mind as the climate of the business and other factors.


All I'm saying is give some people the benefit of the doubt. It's not like he's coming in hot every day with a new claim. It's clear he has some kind of source, to what extent they are privy to info is to be determined. Also, it's not as if he's saying anything outlandish like Horizon and GoW coming to switch.

Obviously take all leaks with a grain of salt. Especially if said leakers were on the mark before.

Edit: Not really defending any leakers, but I work for a large corp and if I went around leaking ideas I heard to competitors, let's just say I'd be on their ignore list after a while.
 
A remaster/remake of F-Zero GX is the way to go. It’s the best of the series and if it sells well, it would give Nintendo an incentive of—hopefully—investing in a new game.
 
Since it's being discussed a little, my opinion on some leakers is that they clearly have some kind of information but for me that information is usually too unreliable for me to take too much notice of it at this point. Like I believe that yes something F Zero was probably planned at one point for 2023 but I'm not putting much stock in actually seeing it in 2023.
 
I'm at the point now where I'm not gonna believe any of these remasters exist until Nintendo speaks up. We have been through this with WW/TP, MP1 and now F-Zero? Yeah I'm over this.

Oh for sure. Honestly the Pro controller would probably be ‘good enough’ since the analog triggers aren’t used in any advanced techniques iirc (more of an X guy myself). But let’s be real here, the majority of people would be using joycons.

Just because the people browsing this forum are likely set up to have a good controller for the game doesn’t mean the general populace wont pick the game up and immediately start complaining that the game controls poorly because they’re using some of the worst home console controllers ever.

@NateDrake is one of the best users in Nintendo community, I don't the shade he gets sometimes.
Getting inside info from Nintendo is very hard, so it's ok that sometimes he gets information wrong or things just change.

Honestly the fact Switch 2 is probably not coming until 2024 at this point makes me believe more in these rumored remasters. They're low risk investments with potential for pretty high rewards to help fill out the Switch's 2023 year. Same with all the year long dlc plans for games like Fire Emblem Engage, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and so on. Throw in a couple of sequels or spinoffs to smaller franchises like say Rhythm Heaven, Style Savvy, or Tomodachi and you have a fairly strong year of software for Nintendo that allows most of the big teams to be working on Switch 2 content for 2024-2025.

Reading that thread was an exercise in how quickly I can re-induce a migraine. There's a reason I deliberately avoid Nintendo related chat on that site, common sense and context are frequently thrown out the window

On topic: A GC remaster will look and run blazingly good, through partial emulation or whatever method. This will be a treat. Looks like I have to buy a GC controller adapter.

I know it's off topic and it's nothing against you but I don't understand why we're putting fe engage together with other dlc plans to show that 2023 will be mostly dlc.
The game is getting released in 2023 but I'm seeing people talk about it like it was released in 2022 and we're just getting DLC for next year.
I know it's nothing but I just wanted to point it out because I'm seeing it more and more when people talk about a low risk weaker 2023.
 
I said it on era, but I don't think F-Zero GX Deluxe is a "f zero is back" moment. Rather a crowd pleaser and a schedule filler. The most important thing it would do is get people talking for the actual revival game. But I think said revival game would be more than "GX with better graphics and online", perhaps controversially so

GX was the Mario Kart 8 (DX) of its day. It's literally packed with so much content and polish that a sequel is most likely going to be either underwhelming or a daunting expensive endeavor.

Given the circumstances of current gen development costs and how the audience has moved towards certain games, F-Zero GX in HD and Online is probably the best thing that could happen.
 
Honestly I wouldn't need a new F-Zero if we had a rock solid collection of F-Zero, X, GX, and Maximum Velocity with online play and added features

Yeah, their posts were plain weird and seemingly trolling (even if they didn't intend to). I don't get the comparisons they kept making that a Switch remake of a gamecube game from 20 years ago won't impress people because it won't look as good as a game built for next gen hardware for PS5/Series X.

At this point I will be happy with whatever F-Zero we get, but I'd take a new one over a remake of GX. I mean, GX is the king of racing games alongside Mario Kart 8 as far as I am concerned. But give me a new F-Zero, dammit!

Strikes me as somewhat odd that you believe F-Zero only needs a remaster to find a larger audience, and then point towards a series that damn near overhauled its core mechanics across multiple new entries to find mainstream appeal as an example.

I’d welcome an F-Zero GX HD with open arms, but at this point I just can’t imagine a remaster as enough to kickstart any franchise to that degree.

Also, the insider snark is silly. No, you aren’t obligated to believe in what insiders say, but that doesn’t mean that they’re inherently lying, or that anyone who does believe in them is stupid.
