Welcome bounty hunters, to the Famiboards Metroid Prime and Fusion 20th Anniversary Event! This event serves to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Metroid Fusion, initially released in North America on November 17, 2002, and Metroid Prime, released the very next day, on November 18, 2002. Additionally, the event serves as a broader celebration of the Metroid series overall, and the renewed passion, vigor, and enthusiasm we as its fans have, following the release of last year's long-anticipated Metroid Dread. There may still be no sign of the hotly rumored and speculated upon Metroid Prime remaster, nor any concrete news to speak of regarding Metroid Prime 4, but that's certainly no reason to stop we, the Fami community, from celebrating the legacy of this treasured landmark series! Feel free to use this thread not solely to post about your badge progress, but also to share your fondest Metroid memories.
The event will run for two months, from today, November 17, 2022, to January 17, 2023. There are a total of 45 badges available for the Fami community to earn, which is our highest badge count in a site event to date! More badges available to earn should naturally result in a longer than average event duration, don't you agree? As always, badges are featured in a section on your profile, and can also be displayed over your posts. Furthermore, all badges will award 15 Famicoins each.
As was the case with previous site events, there is no in-depth system in place to verify that members have indeed fulfilled the prerequisite badge condition. Each badge has a "Picture Proof" prompt in its description, so a photo or screenshot will suffice. This is mostly based on the honor system, so please be honorable!

Questions & Answers
Where are the badges for Prime Pinball, Prime Hunters, Other M, and Federation Force?
As you may have noticed, there aren't any! Simply put: first and foremost, I believe this event should be about having fun, and these four Metroid games in particular consist of either unconventional spinoffs, or titles of... dubious quality, and great controversy. I didn't want anyone to feel compelled to play these, and as such, they've been completely omitted. Maybe they'll be featured the next time this event rolls around, if I feel an inclination to scrape the bottom of the barrel for new badges.
Note: Defeating Ridley in Prime Pinball and Other M still counts towards Ridley Ravager... a humorously insignificant event implementation, to be sure.
UPDATE 1/18/23: Badges for Metroid: Other M have been added! See post #3.
Why no speedrun or difficulty level badges?
There's a certain level of accessibility I desired from this. As such, I decided not to implement any hardcore gamer badges. Getting 100% presents a respectable enough challenge on its own, after all!
Why are two fan made Metroid games featured in the event?
Because: fan made or not, they're both awesome games that are of an extremely high quality! The more folks that play Metroid Planets (by VacantShadeGames on Metroid Construction) and AM2R (by Milton Guasti, aka DoctorM64), the better. I personally believe they're easily on-par with Nintendo's official output, and I'm proud there are Metroid fans out there that could put together such incredible works, out of a sheer love and passion for the series.
Important Note: One does not need to obtain any badges from Metroid Planets or AM2R, in order to obtain the Metroid Matriarch badge (effectively this event's equivalent to a PlayStation Platinum Trophy). Badges pertaining to Metroid Planets and AM2R still award Energy Tanks and Famicoins, however.
Wait, this is slightly confusing. Why are there badges for Metroid 2 in general, as well as badges pertaining to AM2R, specifically?
Plainly and simply: playing Return of Samus, or Samus Returns, can only earn you the badges in the Metroid 2 section, but playing AM2R can earn you badges from both categories. Thus, the optimal, most efficient route (for any completionists reading) would be to just play AM2R, and earn both sets of badges at once.
Does it matter what platform I play on? Does it need to be original hardware?
Nope! Just be aware that Famiboards does not condone piracy, and cannot assist you in any way, when it comes to obtaining ROMs, ISOs, or similar. Please make it easy on all of us, and simply don't ask about that stuff, or discuss it in this thread at all.
Can I use guides and videos to assist me in achieving 100% item completion / 80% Logbook completion?
Feel free! Not only do I encourage you to use guides and videos at your leisure, but it's not like I'd be able to stop you, even if I wanted to! What you aren't allowed to do is outright cheat, which should hopefully be obvious. Anyone found to have nabbed someone else's completion pics off Twitter, Reddit, or similar, will be disqualified from the event.
