And Elon Musk disguised as Link! Hylion Musk.

Banking on Nintendo to bring the one announcement that everyone has been waiting for to the Keighleys: Nintendo Switch Sports Dodgeball and Basketball + Resort expansion with new single player content for high score chasers.
Now I want this to happen. They need to have a live stage show like the olden days (really dating myself here because most of that stuff was post college for me). I want to see Geoff, Doug Bowser, Kojima, and Josef Fares on there for the demo. Imagine the profanity outburst from Fares when the joycon desynchs or he loses to Kojima. Would be an all time moment.

If Musk would be in a Zelda game, he would've been that arrogant salesman in the luxury shop in Hyrule town, who would later be aquired by Malo and put into a silly dress and having to dance to silly music.

... Can this happen in real life please?

I like the way you think

Hi everyone, Eiji Aonuma here. I hope you're all enjoying The Game Awards. I'm sorry that I can't be with you in person. My team and I are very busy working on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch. Even though I couldn't make it to the show I have a new video to share with you today. Thank you so much for your support and please enjoy the video.

I've turned into what I feared the most.
I've become someone who's talking about games only, but basically never ends up playing any (anymore, that is).

(Well, it's just -- work and studying take up so much time right now, I barely have the energy or time to get in some gaming; even with something like the Switch...)

Right there with you. Have had crazy work hours the last few months. Have managed to clear some games, but can only play at very specific times (usually early morning). My usual night time switch playing has gone into family stuff, FamiBoards and sleep.

What a fantastic time for games. I'm deep into Sonic Frontiers and loving it, God of War Ragnarök is out and being well received, but I don't have time for it because there's new Pokemon in a week. Plus I'm still working on P5R on Switch.

This is almost exactly me. Right now I'm focused on P5 on Switch and I recently got GoW, Sonic and Tactics Ogre. I'll probably won't touch them until I'm done with Pokémon and it could take months. I could beat GoW over the christmas week.

Apparently eligible for 7 days free NSO sooo that's me on the Splatfest without needing to decide whether or not I want the Expansion Pack right now. Neat.

Yeahhh see you on the splourt!

...court. Splat court

I forgot to mention that I also picked up the Switch version of Rogue Legacy 2, although the nature of that game means I'll probably just plink away at it from time to time rather than give it a ton of focus.

Never really been into SRPGs but I showed my boyfriend the trailer for Tactics Ogre and I think I found his Christmas gift, haha.

I think Rift Apart looks very good but the scale in Horizon is very impressive to me.
Did Forbidden West fix the wonky character animations in cutscenes from Zero Dawn? That was about the only thing that was a little jarring from that game. Would get random elements flying about sometimes and the facial movement was uncanny valley at best. I read the base game was AI generated but now they are doing mo-cap. Want to play the second since I did like the first story and felt the combat was pretty fun and rewarding, but need a break since I just finished ZD.

Your boyfriend will be in for real treat. This is one of the best strategy RPGs ever made. Might hook him in the genre (which is ok since we are in the renaissance of SRPGs. Just a ton of them coming out this year and next).

He already likes the genre to an extent, he was a big fan of FFTA and its sequel. And yeah no kidding, so many SRPGs this year, it's made me think about giving them another chance, haha.

@bellydrum I tried to remove the character counter in the preferences and it seems it is still there. Unless that button indicates something else entirely? Just thought I would let you know there appears to be an issue with that.

Actually working on that right at this moment
You caught the Hide Character Counter option just before I hooked it up to actually functioning lol

Honest question: is the discourse about nintendo stuff kinda slow? since a month or so it feels slow, but im not shure if its just me or if it is kinda slow.
(Hard to explain slow. a mix of no news, hype not that high about stuff, etc. I know we had bayonetta and now pokemon,
but with both i feel like prior entries would have more hype. or im just the problem myself. and speculation seems to have slowed down generally, as well as fake leaks.)

If im off then i fully accept my ignorance =D

Why are we talking about the next Nintendo Direct when we are in Keighley season at the moment? It's that special time of year where we remember how much we disliked last years Game Awards, vow never to be fooled by Geoff again, only for us to give into his teases and start wondering if this will finally be the year Nintendo shows off a new Zelda or Metroid trailer. Then those things never happen, we complain how it was the worst Game Awards ever, and then repeat it all again next holiday.
Jokes on you: I've not watched any of his shows live and I intend to keep it that way

It's slow because they're in effect on auto-pilot for the rest of the year. This is their, and really the entire industry's, big sales period. Everything is locked and loaded in terms of announcements so there's not really going to be a lot of "news" and "surprises" until January at the earliest.

Yeah, so the cutscenes were redone to be much more cinematic. The presentation as whole is a significant upgrade from Zero Dawn. It has a Naughty Dog feel to it. I think it’s the biggest upgrade from Zero Dawn to Forbidden West, personally.

k. In combination with the weak marketing for pokemon (its been a while since i've seen such hype deflating trailers.... im not pinning it on the game, but the direction/editing), the drama around VA for bayonetta and the lack of suprize anouncements...yeah...
i still feel like at least some out of left field smaller stuff was pushed in fall and speculation about game awards (i mean, its there, but less so...semingly people realized that its not much of a focus for nintendo anymore), unanounced projects, some leaks was under way.
currently we have... not much, drake was talked to death and is still far away. MP remaster is still nowhere to be seen.
nothing else thats teased or leaked.

Feels just kinda weird. oh well.

I visited a second-hand game shop the other day and I bought a copy of Elite Beat Agents.

I really want a sequel.

Nintendo will tell us to tune into The Game Awards for a super presentation and then spring Chris Pratt on us to awkwardly introduce a new trailer for the Mario movie that will run ahead of the new Puss in Boots movie.

If you aren't following Pokémon discussion/leaks you're missing most of the current Nintendo "hype".

Im still on "ill buy the game", but every trailer and showing since the summer actively reduced my hype, so im kind of drifted off to not loos all interest in that game xD
And im still pissed that they removed the catching mechanic from Legends.

No harm in waiting for reviews and for more people to get their hands on it before you buy it. As far as the catching mechanic from Arceus is concerned, you're better off waiting for the next Legends game. It's unlikely to be implemented in the "core" games for various reasons.

Show Character Counter is now an opt-in feature that can be turned on in Preferences. It is currently defaulted to unchecked (hidden) for everyone.

If you want to see the Character Counter, go to the Preferences page and check the Show Character Counter box.

Oh sure. accesibility, balancing, etc... i get that. Legends did reduce the battles to much, but at least to a degree i would have wished to get that. And in regards to hands on... as it semingly leaked there are leaks everywhere, so its less speculating and more "just say if this is in" and "i dont want to get spoiled, but does xyz still works?" and so forth, even in spoiler free threads.

Im actually not shure how the legends subseries will be handeled, if its something we can expect in the future to be a regular thing.

Famicoins will temporarily show on user posts for a short time while I configure the preferences option to remove it.

The real reason no one will admit

we are all playing games

Been playing more Kid Icarus Uprising and it's so good. Hope the series continues some day.

Some of these chapters are pretty tough though, I can't imagine doing a 9.0 run of Chapter 18 for example.

In terms of new announcements from Nintendo, yes. In terms of conversation around their games, hell no. Bayonetta 3 got a lot of discussion, and you literally can't escape Pokemon S/V online atm.

There are so many good games, but the Rhythm Heaven thread made me think about what kind of games I spend my time with again. Why play games that are good, but have a lot of parts I dislike or feel like waste of time when there are multiple franchises that are perfect for me? Then again, you need to try new stuff to find new favourites of course.

I didn't even get the chance to start Bayonetta 3 yet ;-(
This is seriously frustrating. Nier Automata unfinished, Persona 5 Royal stuck at the first palace's boss (I know the game already thanks to vanilla, but still), Bayonetta 3 completely unplayed thus far; I didn't even get to continue FE Three Hopes, and my Three Houses replay is also still up in the air.
Did I mention Xeno 3 yet? Shiiit

So -- how about my Steam Dec-- *gets shot*
