The LotR movies still hold up incredibly well. My girlfriend and I finally finished our rewatch marathon and while Return is imo the weakest of the bunch it's still a fantastic movie.
I got the pc version of Star Wars the force unleashed working on my steam deck, despite valve’s verified list claims it’s unsupported. Got it working yesterday. What are y'all playing lately? I keep trying to finish Xenoblade but my enthusiasm comes and goes in bursts
I started Tunic yesterday and hated it lmao
Did you get Bear & Breakfast on Switch? And if so, how are you liking it?I really hope Tunic is for me because the artstyle is so cute, but right now Bear & Breakfast, Paper Mario on NSO, and I'm hoping to pick up Tinykin in the near future after that delightful demo
...but I also know I should clear out some backlog and no time like the present for spoopy games like Outlast![]()
Why not, though? Not like there’s any rule against saying shit here, lol.So obviously we can't just have a "shitpost" tag, I get that.
I'm sorry if Raccoon felt offended by "I wanna step on Pikmin", but that's such a inoffensive joke like you'd find in any thread tagged Garbage Galaxy on this forum and the request for a closure was probably an emotional over-reaction.
I've never seen a more accurate meme in my LIFELeaked footage from the hidden camera in Dragoncaine's room at 4:39am ET before turning in said script

Congrats and keeping fingers crossed for you!
Part of me wishes the new movie was live action again just so we could see if it'd give the original a run for its money.3 more days until we get a glimpse of this:

I'd genuinely prefer a beautiful trainwreck to a mediocre cgi boilerplate.
Keep the cast basically the same, just have Jack Black also playing Mario. Done. WahooI agree, animated is the easy way out. They need to do a live action one again.
Hopefully you’ll get a long, deserved breakTurned in the latest and greatest draft of my script last night at 4:40am ET. Stoked for our producers and actress to read it and hopefully move the needle for a director!
Don't worry, it probably isn't ready for you either. My alarm will go off in less than 6h and I am not ready for it.
I did! Surprisingly deep and addictive management/tycoon game. Resource gathering makes it double addictive compared to others.Did you get Bear & Breakfast on Switch? And if so, how are you liking it?
My friend got it and he says the UI is a really bad fit for Switch (although he's still put over 10 hours into it so far).

Oh, you've always been a potential, and perhaps active, nefarious actor; the site simply couldn't process the warning until now.Damn, I'm not a mod for less than a week and already I'm a potential "nefarious actor"![]()
I would think we see a sequel to ring fit adventure next year (sleeper hit, 15 million In sales). I completely forgot about this game and would bet in a expected sequel.
While everyone has had their eyes on the big "core" franchises, all have overlooked that this is the clear killer app for Nextendo.I think we're due for something soon. I'm genuinely shocked they didn't do a quick sequel or DLC and the only thing they've really done is repurpose the leg strap for Switch Sports.
Same! Well I used to play it regularly up until last Winter and then I stopped playing and I haven't been arsed to log back in and deal with the shame of letting my Pikmin go unfed. Also I got kinda bored of having no one nearby playing so it was just me thwacking the same mushrooms nearby over and over and over...I really liked your thread tbh! I play Pikmin Bloom pretty often but I don’t walk a lot (living in the suburbs, having a car) so it’d have been nice to chat about the game
Pixel Remasters on console update. Checked the page myself and yeah. I’m betting an announcement is coming rather soon.
I think we should all revisit Miyamoto talking about Bloom in the Direct, as Raccoon said:
"I contend that when Shigeru Miyamoto speaks, we should all sit our gaijin asses down and listen."
And I think he is 100% right, look I somewhat disliked that segment too but it was probably mainly since it's actual mobile stuff that was presented in the Direct, the thing is that you can tell Miyamoto is doing it because he likes it, it's not some PR line or anything, I think it was his idea, he just wanted more people to try Bloom, and to be honest I would like rather spend a few minutes of Miyamoto talking about anything rather than a another sizzle reel of games that already exists. I know some people disliked it mainly because the sense of trolling it gived before Pikmin 4 reveal. but still you could tell that Miyamoto was talking so enthusiastically about it that I could listen to it again and again, same way when Iwata was talking about anything. And in the end I think that the Bloom segment which led to reveal of Pikmin 4 was so fitting mainly because it's 7 years "almost completed" we have been waiting till the absolute last second and it was worth it.
LoZ Fan Club is lucky the series had a major glow-up with BotW. Based on sales, I think Splatoon Club could easily outnumber them with the franchise's growth rate. Are the Clubs allowed to engage in street fights with each other because as a member of The Legend of Zelda Club, I want to roll up and show those chumps in the Splatoon Club whose boss

Metroid isn't a "big core" franchiseWhile everyone has had their eyes on the big "core" franchises, all have overlooked that this is the clear killer app for Nextendo.
And yet, so many of the prospects really don't even need remakes.I think there is easy money for Nintendo in remaking games from their catalog, could be almost any game dating back to Nes. They are sitting on a cash cow. Remake the graphics and improvement to gameplay and even few extra levels if they wanted. Like imagine a remake of Mario bros 3 or Super Mario world? Zelda link to the past, donkey Kong country, Mario 64 , ocarina of time etc … you get he picture. They would sell based on nostalgia alone and for newcomers who have never experienced those games before.
Sounds like a mess, all these people trying to do the writing and now nothing really works together and ...shit dude that narrative is gonna be so epic and immersive
"What Metroid Prime can learn from Dark Souls."Can't wait for the reviews: "The majority of Metroid Prime 4's story is told through scanning logs and computers, similar to how item descriptions tell the lore the dark Darks Souls series".
I suspect it has been destroyed, whether by being a branch Link didn't manage to save or because Termina is destined for destruction in all possible timelines. They'll be announcing the Termina extension to the OG map any minute now.

I feel like they've had pretty good luck with having "lifestyle" apps like Wii / Ring Fit debuting after the first or second year of the system. I imagine the people interested in those types of games are not exactly early adopters and I think the value proposition of just the hardware + fitness app + peripheral isn't great. But as something you get alongside the big tentpole titles? That's a much easier sell.Stuff like Zelda and Mario, particularly, integral Nintendo titles that would be expected to draw in the largest audiences -- so, Mario Kart.
Metroid would be great there since it might benefit from such placement, but that's not exactly the sort of "killer app" being referenced.
This is all you needed to say to get me on boardmy idea of Yoko Taro writing
I did! Surprisingly deep and addictive management/tycoon game. Resource gathering makes it double addictive compared to others.
If your friend think Switch isn't the right platform for this game, they need to play more tycoon games on it. They should try Let's Build a Zoo next.
Thank you both! I'll probably pick it up at some point.Nani?

This brings back bad memories of the old place when someone made a lengthy, heart-felt LTTP about how much they loved Xenoblade 2 and got so much joy out of it, and a few posts into the topic one of the literal MODS replied with a two-word “garbage game”. Like… seriously?Petition to re-open Raccoon's thread
Also maybe we could, you know, not post shitty one-liners in response to someone writing about something they like
Yeah, hearing about that part made me hesitate a little but as it turns out I'm gonna be playing it with a friend who loves both Zelda and Souls so we've already agreed that they'll have the controller and I'll have the "manual"/take notes/be the co-pilot, for some real old-school gaming. The thing about Tunic other than the vagueness putting people off (which is totally fair! It’s not for everyone) is that in many ways it’s a Zelda homage, but it plays much more like a Souls game. Which if you love both Zelda and Souls (like me!) then it pushes all the right buttons and is phenomenal. But if you love Zelda and aren’t too keen on Souls, then there’s a pretty jarring clash that’s going to hit you.
I can definitely see the complaints about practically everything under the sun being a Soulslike or using Souls-y mechanics lately (which will probably get worse post-Elden Ring) as it does feel a bit saturated, but… it’s hard for me to be too upset since it’s one of my favorite genres. It’d be like me complaining there have been too many JRPGs lately, it’s just not possible!
That’s an amazing idea, I love it! I used to play tons of games like that, figuring things out back and forth. I forgot to mention though that the game does have options to make yourself invincible and such, so if you get really stuck on a boss or a tough part you can still get through it and not feel like you’re trapped.Yeah, hearing about that part made me hesitate a little but as it turns out I'm gonna be playing it with a friend who loves both Zelda and Souls so we've already agreed that they'll have the controller and I'll have the "manual"/take notes/be the co-pilot, for some real old-school gaming.
I thought I didn't really like Souls games. Then I played Elden Ring. While I think I'm still pretty comfortable in saying the genre isn't necessarily for me, Elden Ring is definitely a good game and, moreover, some of the more frustrating mechanics (slow, deliberate combat; save points / death mechanic / respawning enemies) actually make sense in itThe thing about Tunic other than the vagueness putting people off (which is totally fair! I agree with @SammyJ9, this is a great idea! My spouse and I took turns playing the game and taking notes on things and just figuring things out together. We've been playing games together since a few months after we got together in 2006, and playing this together in March through May is now one of my favorite gaming memories together for sure.Yeah, hearing about that part made me hesitate a little but as it turns out I'm gonna be playing it with a friend who loves both Zelda and Souls so we've already agreed that they'll have the controller and I'll have the "manual"/take notes/be the co-pilot, for some real old-school gaming.
Honestly...yeah, your friend's assessment is on point. The UI is honestly the toughest enemy in the game, but I also have about ten hours in the world too. When you're not navigating menus it really is an incredibly cathartic gaming experience. The characters are charming and expressive, the story is goofy, the goals are achievable and the sidequests plentiful without being tedious, and the music sublime. As much as it pains me to say it given I love the game on my Switch, I'd sooner recommend getting it on PC. If it does end up having the same replayability like Stardew Valley, I may go back and double dipDid you get Bear & Breakfast on Switch? And if so, how are you liking it?

Eyy, that sounds like a fine trip! I've always loved the idea of traveling to Ireland, renting a stone cottage outside the Dublin or Belfast and biking in to the city. Hope you have a grand ol' time, and hopefully you enjoy the pubs with some local bands playing live music!I've never seen a more accurate meme in my LIFE

My Ireland trip starts super early Sunday morning. I will tour castles and old cities, hike mountains, attend my first rugby game, and celebrate Oktoberfest in Belfast. Brb I'm ascending into the heavens while my liver descends into a grave
