9/10 direct for me. There was a LOOOOOT of weeb stuff, which I love. FE and Zelda are especially good announcements.
Could be a 10/10 if they also added TP/WW or MP1, but hey, I'm happy.

Honestly, it's pretty great for me honestly. With today's economy I have been worried about having too many games. The fact that between now, and May, the only games I want are maybe Pokémon, Fire Emblem, and Zelda. It really helps my wallet.

That said, what a weird direct.

I'm gonna go full doomer mode here and say that Retro losing a lot of contractors in September last year meant something very bad happened to either MP1HD or MP4, assuming the former even exists. It seems like TP/WW HD pack wasn't real either

... YouTube just pulled up an old treehouse and I was heartbroken for a moment, lol

There are some great games announced but the presentation felt subpar for Nintendo, saying it as a passionate fan. Expectation were high I'll admit.

I just have to wonder where all those games we know about are staying, I have a hunch. Would they really collect everything for one big blowout for Drake?

This was a mediocre-to-bad Direct, IMO. A bunch of farming sims and Eastern RPGs are not getting me excited.

I get that Western publishers are stupid about the Switch, but more Eastern games that aren't in those two genres would be nice. Sifu looked cool, and I'll probably look into getting that.

Then, when it comes to Nintendo games, it's just a crapshoot; which of their IPs that I love will they happen to make a game for now? Aw, they're making an eighteenth Fire Emblem and not another 3D Mario. TLoZ: TotK is a game I'll likely get, though after my mixed experience with BotW, I'm skeptical about it and want to see more than a teaser.

Pikmin 4 is neat for the Pikmin fans and might be something I get at a BF sale someday. Kirby: Return to Dreamland is a nice remake, and it's neat that GoldenEye's getting a re-release (though it really needs the full remake treatment), but this was a rough Direct in my view. The only two games I'm super-likely to be getting are the M&R sequel (which I've had pre-ordered for months) and probably TotK. Bummer.

Above average direct for me, got some real meat with Fire Emblem but I basically could have turned it off after that.

Most directs are disappointing from my perspective so I'm pretty content.

No Metroid Prime and no Zelda ports is interesting.

Welp, time to make that The Legend of Zelda ST that I promised since I said that I would do it when there's more news and a lead-up to the actual next game.

When I get WiFi and Internet access next time, of course.

(I'm still in the Dominican Republic after all and I'm constantly moving in this place.)

Yeah, this was really poor... they even look like tried to put Zelda there somehow when it wasn't even needed. Don't get me wrong, the game looks amazing and beyond anything on Switch and the new "gimmick" looks really impressive, but I would have saved all that for a full fledge trailer and not these small teasers.

Other than that... is good to know Pikmin 4 is a thing.

Anyway, I have too much to play at the moment so no problem.

'Twas a terrific Direct. Also happens to be the case I stayed out of speculation threads. Leaks are mind-warpers, y'all.

Some friendly advice:

  • if you're disappointed, I'm sorry about that. Genuinely a few misses there for me, as well as a few real wins.
  • I'm just asking, as a long time old man member, that you avoid extreme hyperbole.
  • it's also worth pointing out that a few things suggested by members of our community/'leakers' didn't pan out today. Bear in mind these were widely reported and corroborated by multiple people (Prime/Zelda ports); don't use their lack of appearance as a reason to start fights, fling insults, or to demand explanations.
  • Nintendo once again demonstrate that no matter how much we think we know, they're easily going to pull surprises.
  • if you feel emotionally and mentally invested to an extreme degree, especially in a way that's generating negative feeling, that's usually a time to step back and look after yourself.

Anyway, an odd Direct for me. I'm more than sorted for Switch purchases into the middle of next year and I am delighted that Pikmin 4 is finally tangible.

All in all, personal opinion and all that, this Direct started really strong, deflated like there was no tomorrow in the middle and kinda got its shit together in the end. It wasn't something earth shattering, but it wasn't awful either.

743K highest live view, crazy. But I'm a little bit dissatisfied because it's have so many anime games, TOTK trailer are so short & no teaser for a Switch Drake. I give 3 star from 5. Hopefully 1st TGS will give full 5/5 with a Drake announcement

Yeah from all i seen from this direct really makes me thinking we getting new hardware , remember the old folk tale about when Nintendo starts releasing multiple kirby games the current console is on its way out :p

A lot of people complaining but this was honestly one of my favorite Directs in recent memory.

Fire Emblem Engage, Fatal Frame 4, Octopath Traveler 2, Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life, Kirby Deluxe, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Pikmin 4, Tales of Symphonia Remastered, etc.

Maybe it just appealed to my tastes. 🤷🏻

This Direct felt so weird, they threw really everything at the wall at the same time its clear that they are holding back stuff for Drake.

If you don't like JRPGs, that was very mixed. I got Theathrythm and Pikmin 4, so I'm fine. But there's not a lot there for me.

Oh, dear Geno, we raise our spirits and our star power to your eternal might

Though your honor was desecrated with a mere Mii Fighter costume appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate™, we know now that today is the day you regain eternal glory

May Super Mario RPG make its long lost appearance on NSO today (shadow drop plz ty), lest we dream for a full-fledged remake

Amen and Kerokola's forever

Lol never seeing this game ever again

No one can ever talk shit about Xenoblade: DE as a closer again.

THAT was official the worst close of all-time; it was literally nothing.

... How is "tears of the kingdom" spoiling anything about the game, LOL

May is nice tho! Surprised it's outside of the fiscal year.
Not much yea, i'm assuming it's from like the Kingdom in the sky and it's falling down or something lol. No idea but will make sense once we play the game. Love the title tho

I mean there is no Metroid Prime Hd port and the Zelda ports weren't announced. I believe they are real but homeboys need to stop talking about them. Like I don't care personally but I'm tired of seeing people just dunk on them every time these games aren't shown.
Nate literally (on the podcast )said he didn’t think they’d show up.

How did "Endgame" spoil anything about Avengers 4?

"The title is a spoiler so we don't want to reveal it too soon" is just them saying "we're still focus testing the titles and we'll get back to you later"

There is no 3D Donkey Kong, There is no WW + TP HD ports, and THERE IS NO METROID PRIME REMASTER

also what happened to syluxhunter. Couldn't tell but a new F-Zero wasn't announced either

i stopped crocheting for this? i hate insiders

Jokes aside I don't think it was a bad direct, there was some really interesting stuff in there, just... nothing for me. The FE reveal was pretty much the last thing I wanted from FE, and might be the first game in the series I don't even bother to play.

Glad to have a date and title for Zelda, but I don't understand why they wouldn't show anything more. I guess they want to do a Zelda-focused event at some point, I just don't know what they're waiting for exactly.

also i didn't know farming games were so popular
