One of Nintendo's "Sega" games, can't wait to play.
lmao i was unknowingly the last post on the first page ayy glad to have done my partThis thread isn't even at two pages yet?! For shame!
It's genuinely great.I've never played this and I see people talking about it a lot. Is it genuinely good? Or is this one of those meme hype situations (like Morbius)?
It's quite good. It's a little light on content compared to more modern racers, but the water physics, visuals, and soundtrack are all high quality.I've never played this and I see people talking about it a lot. Is it genuinely good? Or is this one of those meme hype situations (like Morbius)?

It has that AM2 feelingI have never thought of it this way and holy shit, there couldn’t be a more accurate means to describe it
I'll be honest, Wave Race as a series is one that I've never been able to get into, but I am happy for the fans. This thread isn't even at two pages yet?! For shame!
Rumor is that, when Takahashi hinted at Wave Race coming back, Nintendo was actively prototyping with the IP. Unfortunately, it never went beyond the prototype phase. Could still be happening in the future of course (it's Takahashi's baby after all, he loves it) but the rumor says they dropped it.OK, this gives me great hope that the R&D general manager said many years that wave race will be coming back in one form or other. I think this could be the case and also given the fact we have learned that switch sports was in development before switch. Maybe wave race switch was wii u then moved to switch. I also would not be surprised if 1080 switch and pilotwings switch is in development.
You may see that game again. We have been trying to make many games and that may be one of them … I personally love Wave Race!
It's genuinely great.
You have to remember going in, this isearly 2000smid-90s 3d! But this is full-on, full-fat, NCL in-house developed, pure racing goodness.
They made the water feel so good.
It's only like 7 tracks, but damned if it's not supremely replayable just because it feels so good to play.
Oh and the music, mannnn
Okay, thanks for the answers! I think I will play it once it's out. It's quite good. It's a little light on content compared to more modern racers, but the water physics, visuals, and soundtrack are all high quality.
Surprisingly good looking water.Nice water.
An update to the circle graph
At the rate they're going, they could just use the remnants of the Wii/Wii U VC to fill up a decent "Year 2" lineup for N64 NSO. Still hoping to see new stuff along the way though, like the missing Rare games.
This chart makes me feel like Bomberman 64 and Bomberman Hero are on the way and therefore I deem it a great chart. Factual? Obviously. Great? Deemed.
The also did twinbee on Snes. So I think it’s down to a mix of how much Nintendo threw at them versus if they think there’s collection value(a much smaller influence on N64 games.Depends on how much Konami's willing to play ball. Technically they already are as we have some of their games on NSO EP like Castlevania Bloodlines and Contra Hard Corps over on the Genesis app.
Namco, Sega and Nintendo were on fire for arcade racers across PS1, Saturn and N64. Probably the genre's peak imo.One of Nintendo's "Sega" games, can't wait to play.
The whole game perfectly captures the optimism of the mid 90s. Computer technology was evolving rapidly, the sun was shining, music bopping, it was great!*I figured we were due another N64 racer and was hoping it'd be Wave Race. Perfect summertime game.
There just ain't much like it anymore, and yeah it is so very mid 90s in aesthetic and feel that I'm sure some of you are going to be nonstop cringing or whatever, but my gawd this game is such a damn mood.
Like ya'll aren't ready for how on the announcer is... just wait until you get your first "Banzaaaai!!!" lol
Damn. This announcement has lifted my spirits quite a bit. Friday can't come soon enough.
Looks like it does!Does it still has the Kawasaki textures?
So they paid the licenses again?Looks like it does!
Kawasaki Jet-Ski licensing. I think they got to re-license the usage again. What was the deal with the ads, they were edited out in the Wii U release? So they haven’t been in since the original N64 version?
"Nice boat"If the ST subtitle for it isn't "Nice Water" I'll riot
I guess you could say it was a...Vaporwave Race. The whole game perfectly captures the optimism of the mid 90s. Computer technology was evolving rapidly, the sun was shining, music bopping, it was great!*
