You know that moment when you enjoy a new piece of media and it becomes your personality?

Yeah.

I'm really enjoying the map design in Xenoblade 2. Just exploring the first big city (Torigoth) is a ton of fun, finding how to climb to the rooftops and stuff like that. It's really cool how vertical everything is, even when compared with Xenoblade 1.

Looking to see if we'll get two new mascot girls (or boys) or if Pearl and Marina will be back.
I assume that Pearl will be the dark queen of the apocalypse if the last splatfest is anything to go off of. They should both be in for single player in some capacity.

Say how's Umihara Kawase BaZooKa!? I enjoyed what I played of the super famicom game. Noticed it’s on sale at $6
Edit: after checking seems I should wait for fresh to go on sale instead

Ah yes it's morning, which means it's time for another rousing game of "Which Xenoblade 3 Song Is Stuck In My Head?"

I guess I should consider myself lucky that the particular part of XC2 I had to re-do was very cutscene heavy, so getting back to where I was took maybe 30 minutes at most. Plus, it taught me to save frequently.

Fami, when do you think we're gonna see Team Asanos next entry on Switch and what franchise will it be?
Will it be DQ? If not, what else do you think? Octopath 2? Something entirely unexpected like LaL?

For reference:

2018 - Octopath Traveller
2021 - Bravely Default II
2022 - Triangle Strategy
2022 - Live A Live
202X - Dragon Quest III HD-2D

DQ3 and Octopath 2 seem like the most likely options to me. If I had to pick one of those I'd give it to DQ3

I created another ghetto ramen bowl consisting of a vegetable broth with white pepper and chili an a poached egg. Don't think I poached the egg correctly though so if I don't post from here on out I probably died of salmonella lmao

That leaked Final Fantasy 9 remake. But not in 2DHD, I predict something closer to Bravely Default style. To be launched fall 2023.

My guess would be DQ3 is a spring 2023 game, kinda curious if Nintendo is gonna publish this game in the west. They have done that for all the HD-2D and BD2. But since DQ Treasures (a kinda smaller game) is not who knows. Maybe a Sep Direct to show more of it.

After that, the February direct might show their next project, Octopath seems the next game in line (2018-2023). Also very curious on the list SE has on possible remakes.

Well this is exceptionally cool and creepy

How does the combat work?

oh believe me I would love to, and once I actually make the whole game, get it on Steam to show Nintendo that I have my shit together, and finally get Switch Dev access β€” I’m absolutely gonna find out what I’d have to do to make that happen

as for the correct pronunciation?

DQ3 at TGS.

Followed by OT2 and then Chrono Trigger.

Edit: This is a gut feeling but I’m expecting this to be a very good TGS for Square-Enix. They are firing on all cylinders right now and the FF anniversary is in December.

Getting my SteamDeck today. My switch is about to collect dust.

Just kidding, I'm still gonna play switch but glad to have 2 handhelds lying around

I'm guessing that DQ III is the odds on favorite at this point.

After that, maybe Chrono Trigger?

Head up for the real weebs of this forum: I was looking from some figure to preorder and I found out that Persona 5 Royal is available for preorder on AmiAmi with an exclusive poster (A2 format).

Since getting the Steam Deck, there's been one constant issue for me: choice paralysis. I just can't seem to figure out which games to get on which of the two devices. Sure, Switch exclusives on Switch, 3rd parties skipping it on Deck instead. But everything in between? Hmmmm. There are many pros and cons to both platforms, making it hard to really stick to one and making the other a standard secondary device.

I will probably keep most of my gaming on Switch due to portability and battery life..from what I can see the Deck isn't so portable. If there are games that really suck on switch and are better in PC or simply don't come to Switch then the choice is made for me.

Part of me wonders if Octopath Traveler 2 ends up making it out ahead of Dragon Quest III. In a just world, both would be 2023 global releases...

Odd though, that the mobile OT game isn't on Switch yet. Unless the game is built in such a way (business model wise) that a standalone purchase release wouldn't work. Maybe the September Direct shadow drops the mobile game on the eShop and announces a sequel for 2023...
