This basically sums up my feelings on this franchise. I just am not the type of person who can easily take all this shit in.

I'm very happy this is reviewing well but yeah I cannot see myself even being able to tolerate this combat system so I'll pass.

If GamesBeat is still not getting codes for breaking a detail in their Bowser's Fury (# catshines) review, I cant imagine Kokatu getting reviews for years

I know we still have ~5 months and more releases to go, but at the moment Nintendo GOTY seems to be between Kirby and the Forgotten Land vs. Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

You love to see it.
Kirby is a god damned masterpiece, it's an insult that it scored so low

Tales of games have a pretty decent track record with romantic sub plot with Phantasia,Eternia ,Symphonia 2,Grace, Xilla,Innocence, Hearts Destiny and Destiny 2 all having obvious couples pairing/s . It depends on what you mean by payoffs though, you won't see much if any physical affections in these games lol.
All I need is a confession and acceptance.

Only days BEFORE release and you can play Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in 4k on pc!

"Talking about emulation is totally fine as long as it is a Nintendo game that gets rom dumped before release"

I still have Dread flashbacks....

If anything I wish this pushed Nintendo to invest more on JRPGs.
More? The company that sent all NP subscribers a free copy of Dragon Quest needs to invest more?

They are the platform holder that invest more in JRPGs and probably the number 1 publisher outside of SE (which is basically JRPG the company). There is more room for JRPGs but they also have to invest in other genres they are a platform holder
Yea, between Pokemon, Fire Emblem, and Xenoblade I can't think of what else they could possibly do to invest more in the genre. Hell, they even publish S-E titles outside of Japan!

Preach. Invest in other genres lmao. Jrpg fans are more than served

I mean there is still some things they could do without affecting their output of other genres like Golden Sun, Mother remakes and a Monolith Soft 2nd big IP. But outiside of it mostly is either unrealistic or would mean taking away resources from other places

Very hyped for this game. Glad about the great reviews. First game since Super Mario 3D Allstars i will buy at full price. That's a very rare thing in general for me :)

Talent won ❤️❤️❤️
I'm happy that it's 150 hour on the main game, I've been having a thing for long campaigns(Persona 5, Breath of the Wild and Fire Emblem Three Houses), and as I have to save for months to buy a game, it's a big factor for me.
I don't know if I'll buy DE or 2 whenever they go on a promotion (or maybe rent? Which of the two is shorter?) or go on to buy Xenoblade 3 first.

yeah this UI looks cluttered and i know i didnt care for the combat system in xc2 but im a hype beast, a sucker, and dont have much to play on switch now so ill pick it up.

i really doubt it'll take 150 hours just for the main story
It won't, it might be near that number if you're going for completion though. The main story seems to be 50-70 hours, in line with the other games

One of the problems with IGN being so big though is that this misleading information is becoming really widespread really quickly

I'm still holding out for a re-release of the special edition. Digital edition locked and loaded and itching for Friday.

Sure, but I suspect GS and Mother languishing is less to do with Nintendo and more to do with the studios (or lack of a dedicated studio) involved. Itoi is more than happy to just sell merch at this point and outside of a few franchises Nintendo really isn't all that remake happy.

Anyone got a good spoiler free review? Even if it’s a video, I’ll just listen to it
The EG one is very spoiler light and prefers to talk in broad strokes about the game: https://www.eurogamer.net/xenoblade-chronicles-3-review-a-jrpg-masterpiece

Some reviews from Spain's media:

3DJUEGOS: essential

Hobbyconsolas: 93

Meristation: 94

Vandal: 95

Nintenderos: 100

Extremely glowing reviews. They are all raving about it.

For sure, it'll probably be 50 hours if you just beeline through it. It does sound like they really integrated the Heroes so well that it's easy to get wrapped up in doing their content at the very least though, so I'm not surprised the hours easily start to add up.

I think what they meant was maybe invest in new IP for their rpg catalogue? Or bring back some beloved series *cough*Earthbound*cough

That's me. Love XB1 but it doesn't seem to be for me anymore.

Sounds like a refined expanded take on the blades from 2 and their side stories. But larger scope as they’re directly tied in rather than random. So that’s awesome

this is my thought as well. why do just the main story when the heroes are so cool and the game yells at you for having a maxed out class? lol

Digital Foundry's review was a very pleasant surprise! I was not expecting such a huge improvement in resolution and image quality over the previous games.

Everything about XC3 seems more tailored to my tastes than earlier entries, from the larger party, ability to switch between characters during combat (something I was really disappointed didn't exist in the first game), darker story, higher production values, dodge button (love the sound of this!), unlocking cool traversal mechanics that open up new areas, deeper combat customization, simplified gem creation (hated how slow this was in the original), better tutorials, better sidequests, more direction so you don't wander off the critical path (I need my hours spent on seeing the story through!) and most importantly - resolution! My eyes sigh in relief!

Xenoblade 2 would never have seen the light of day under Yamauchi, let's pray the series gets back on track today.

Not sure what this is supposed to mean. The Y-man abhorred rpgs, belting out the infamous line 'People who play RPGs are depressed gamers who like to sit alone in their dark rooms and play slow games'

If the Y-Man was the Litmus test as claimed, Xenoblade as a franchise itself would have never seen the light of day.

(Bold is broken lol, it came with the pasted quote, and can't be turned off).

Also, holy cow this thread already reached 8 pages! Wow!

Please see the threadmarked staff post. Thank you.
