Looking forward to having my usual Xenoblade experience of putting about 30ish hours into it, hitting a wall, and then dropping it.

But I’m glad this is seemingly the last Xenoblade game. I am beyond ready for something new with gameplay that I don’t hate.

Also, “that” from X3 is objectively hilarious.

Anyone picking this up? Looks pretty atmospheric and dark for a Digimon game.

Oh yea, the art on SotM can be a bit rough. The new definitive edition is a lot better (10+ years of practice makes a difference!) but can be a little awkward since they went a bit "high concept" by using multiple art styles for each character depending on what comics era the card is referencing.

Dicebreaker has become one of my most visited sites over the past months, for someone like me who is relatively new to board games their stuff is very useful.

If you check BGG (BoardGameGeek) you can try to search games with deck construction and coop, or even look for lists with games for two players.
If coop is not a must, I'd take a look on dominion and mystic vale, and even if not a deck building, 7 wonders duel is a great two player game.
Sorry I can't help more, I don't care much for games which the main mechanic is deck building (even though my favorite Concordia uses it in some fashion).

No worries! Any kind of cooperative game really, doesn't have to have deckbuilding as its central mechanic. I've seen some stuff that looks really appealing, like Spirit Island, but it's sometimes difficult to know if a game isn't too complex for a particular group of people to enjoy.

Spirit Island is great but it is quite hard! It’s like a wonderful puzzle to crack but it does not pull punches and is definitely a brain burner.

There is an app version which you can check out too if you don’t want to commit to the cardboard price.

That is exactly what happened over in the spoiler thread and now it is locked lol

But yeah, I don't have enough context outside of seeing the image. All I can say is oof, not a good look for what has been building up to be a flagship series for Ninty. Back down the backlog the series goes for me lol

I agree it has no place here but there's no need to be simultaneously disrespectful to the mods (rushing their work) and the general culture here (openly calling other members assholes)

EDIT: and my reply was not to advocate for the discussion being here, just pointing out there there is a spoiler thread for this that unfortunately was locked
 
Yeesh what was so bad about that image? I'm actually curious now but not enough to risk spoilers (especially if it's from the ending)

Is it just XC2 style sexualization or something worse?

I'm curious too.

My naive, context-less, after seeing the image for 2 seconds before closing it, read was a simplistic/archaic way of signaling "And they all lived happily ever after"

I put the picture behind a spoiler tag that was clearly marked. I’m sorry that you saw the spoiler when trying to reply to my post. I didn’t know that was a thing that would happen. I then edited my original post to take the picture out of it.

It’s not like I put the picture right out in the open and described in detail what it was

Edit: @bellydrum so are you basically saying we can’t discuss that image at all? Because the spoiler thread for Xeno 3 is locked. Now admittedly I didn’t know that when I posted it here, but still

The thread is locked, which means that there is not currently a good place to discuss that, yes.

The thread was locked due to discussion about this image, meaning that the mods need time to address it before conversation continues.
 
We all have a different view of spoilers and care about different games. In my opinion this thread should be as spoiler free as possible and keep that in dedicated threads for the games.
 
I've been around the internet a few times and usually when someone posts spoilers in a thread that is not about the actual game spoilers, their intent is to just ruin things for people who are looking forward to it. That person isn't actually looking for discussion about said spoiler. I won't beat around the bush, that is pretty clear what is going on here.
 
Not having a game to focus on while waiting for Live A Live to arrive in the mail is a weirdly freeing feeling. I've been slowly going through a bunch of demos I had on my Switch and cleaning out my storage space which has been nice.

Card Shark is a nifty concept but trying to remember the instructions for the swindles triggers some weird performance anxiety I'm not a fan of, Strikers I apparently missed the window on :(, Hyrule Warriors AoC seems to run fine and I can see the appeal of a brawler with a strategy layer on top of it. Last one in the queue is Freedom Planet tonight and then I guess I'll either start the Live A Live demo or see if I can work on getting my 3DS/Wii U affairs more in order.

You know what, it’s apparently pointless to defend myself anymore.

You’re right, I’m nothing but a malicious asshole who specifically wanted to ruin Xenoblade fans’ day today. That’s why I put the spoiler behind a clearly marked spoiler tag. You all caught me red handed.

Shut Up and Sit Down just released a great review on Spirit Island not too long ago, looks really good, but I'm not sure how to tell if it is too complex.
There's always Pandemic, or one of it's many iterations, as a great coop recommendation even though the theme can be off putting with... well the pandemic IRL.
Also check out SUSD's review of Fog of Love as well, it is mostly coop (there is a way to win solo) but can be a really fun experience.

For what it's worth mods don't think you were a malicious asshole, just that it wasn't the best choice to bring it up here and like that. But it's always easier to say that afterwards.

We're still working through the posts/reports in the spoiler thread though so hopefully you can have a spot to discuss it now too long from now with a lot of people who've been sitting on it for the past few hours, it's gonna be busy in there as soon as it reopens haha

I see this got a lot of reactions and just want to remind folks to try to give each other the benefit of doubt. The user in question rolled back their decision and apologized– name-calling, piling on, and whatever else at this point is fighting (assumed) fire with fire. Let's try to move on.
