Is it any weirder than Nintendo releasing Dread when Fusion and Samus Returns aren't on Switch? I don't think it's that big of a deal.
With Dread, they didn't release anything from the backlog. If they're releasing at least one Prime, it's weird to not release 2 and 3. Though yes, I realize insiders never said anything about 2 and 3, so here's hoping they release them all.

It’s just so odd for Peer to predict another game from NLG when they just released Strikers. Nobody makes predictions like that. Nobody would predict another game from them for probably another 2 years.

Makes me wonder if after/during Luigi’s Mansion 3 they’d be able to tackle Strikers and Punch-Out basically side by side with the group they had.
Well, Strikers and Punch-Out are not large-scale games. Not to the same degree as Luigi's Mansion, at least. So it's possible.

I wouldn't bet on NLG putting out another Punch-Out, though. I love the franchise, but for some reason I am not too confident in that regard.

It makes me wonder how hard it would be for them to just bring Metroid Prime Trilogy over to the Switch. You will be in for an amazing treat when you go through these games for the first time, by the way.

I mean I know they’re smaller games…that doesn’t mean they have the power to do it. That’s what I’m questioning or wondering out loud lol

No one was even thinking “yeah I could see them doing Strikers and Punch-Out” prior to Peer making this odd prediction, even though we know these are smaller titles. Now he put this in my head lol

Important to remember that the story with the Prime remaster is that the original plan was to re-release the entire trilogy. Nintendo's plans changed when they handed Metroid Prime 4 to Retro Studios and only the remaster of the first game is definitely finished.

Namco is sooo slow bringing their legacy games to the modern platforms. Did you know that none of the Tekken games get re-releases except the Tag Tournament 2 on Wii U? Inexcusable.
Literally everyone is insanely bad at that except Microsoft (whose legacy content I don’t really care about)

Good point.

🤔

Now that you mention it, two games on the scale of a new Punchout! and Strikers Battle League could have potentially been developed side-by-side.

But I won't get my hopes up. I feel like it's more likely that we get a Switch remaster of the Wii Punchout than something new in that franchise.

That fake snitch account just tells me it’s a Nintendo fan who’s not amused by the real snitch having nothing Nintendo lol.

Or probably the real answer, Boredom and a funny prank

a game of that scale seems like a smart 1-2 punch with strikers

no pun intended

but I'm not sure what their team structure looks like these days

lol, great minds i suppose

The person who is in charge of the german twitter account is a troll:

I think that's what he's getting at

rather than Strikers being a side project to their next big game, they perhaps did two smaller projects concurrently

Yeah, I have high expectations!

We know they have the Trilogy running on the Shield in China and that the Mario 3D collection consists of emulated ROMs, so they have a robust Wii emulator. Unless they're porting the games so that they run natively on the Switch instead of through emulation, it should be pretty easy to port the 3 games.

I haven't watched it so I don't know what he said but he is right about them having another game.

I think the reaction would be much better now, we just had Dread, a normal Prime 4 is promised, online games feel much more at home on Switch than on 3DS.
The original was a good game that got an unfair reception, and on Switch they could have a more traditional artstyle for the series.
After playing Prime 2 I was actually kinda wanting to see a concept like this, it's just some of the execution and the timing that really wasn't in the game favor.
I'd absolutely love a remaster/remake of Federation Force to be bundled into Prime 4, or released free-to-play to build hype for it. Seems unlikely with a company like Nintendo, but I can hope.

More Tales games on Switch would be awesome.

And Go Shiina is the GOAT Tales composer.
I LOVE Motoi Sakuraba but I think he is better on Star Ocean & Valkryrie Profile (well, he is better with tri-Ace and the Dark Souls team). I just saw that the Tales of ARISE soundtrack (still done by him) is a whopping SEVEN DISCS for 133 tracks, around 125 done by Sakuraba.

This is insane.

Insiders have never said they’re only releasing Metroid Prime 1 before 4. They only know Metroid Prime 1 is coming. Nintendo could or could not release the other 2. Nintendo could do like Dread and have a summary at the beginning of Prime 4 showing a little bit of the precious games.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Nate said MP1 could release this year for its 20th anniversary, while MP4 is still in development. I'm not taking that as fact and I know is just his opinion, but he did say that because it makes sense.

I enjoy his work too, especially from that PS1 tri-Ace era, Though Baten Kaitos will always remain my absolute favorite work from him.

Star Ocean: The Second Story, Valkyrie Profile & Baten Kaitos I & II, the good ol' times :).

His (very young at the time) daughter sung "Le Ali Del Principio" from Baten Kaitos II and it was so beautiful. Man I need to play this game, I finished the first one but the second never came to France...

I mean, no disrespect to Peer, but you do sometimes get plenty of otherwise well-informed people making slightly batty predictions with Nintendo.
