Did the original leak info mention the ability to have a female protagonist? Could have just been general usage of “he” since these games have had options for a while.

2022's line up could be a real interesting balance across Nintendo's development arrangements:

  • 3 internally developed EPD titles (Switch Sports, Splatoon 3, 1-2 Switch sequel or something else?)
  • 3 or 4 titles from external third-parties (Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, Bayonetta 3, Advance Wars Reboot Camp)
  • 3 games from directly owned subsidiaries (Mario Strikers, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Metroid Prime HD?)
  • 3 games from long-term affiliates with shared IP (Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, Fire Emblem Red & Blue Versions?)

Of course, the next mainline FE has Koei-Tecmo once again doing some heavy lifting, but I think it's fair to count it for Intelligent Systems shipping a game (if it came out this year).

Just funny that we could end up with a year where the titles Nintendo release split so evenly into the different types of development arrangement they use.

More then one game can have long hair protagonists lol.

Edit: rude

edit: New Fire Emblem game definitely exists, and this may be a leaked picture from the Chinese localization team. All I'm pointing out is that it looks like someone slapped Nahobino onto an image.

I'd love to be wrong because a) two games with Nahobino hair would rule, and b) Joy Con hair would rule.

Really? The color and shading is very different of course, but otherwise they look damn near identical to me
The hair for the FE MC curves more inward at the top and doesn't curve outward until around the character's hips. The SMT5 mc's hair starts curving out around the shoulders. The SMT5's hair also curves back in before curving back out again giving it a more wavy look. FE's hair never curves back in again and ends up being straighter as a result. If you trace both with your finger I think you'll notice the difference.

ummm proof?
Watch that white things be their shoulders
The white things are definitely shoulders, but the weird blurriness around them is what's in question.

Actually, can anyone confirm if all those Hidari portraits aren't from some other games like Rune Factory or such? That would help settle if this is real or not.

As a static image, yes, but IIRC the Nahobino's hair moves in and out and changes shape, I wasn't being that specific. I just meant the general, overall look of it is basically the same, like if you took a rough outline profile of Nahobino from behind and then photoshopped different hair over that space, if that makes sense. I could be wrong, but that was what jumped to mind

Not the director, producer, but that's the jist of Kamiya's recent Twitter thread. He's asking people who haven't played Bayo 1+2 to do it now so they aren't burnt out when Bayo 3 launches. He mentions that Nintendo get to decide the release date and he can't say anything about it himself, but adds that if you trust the 2022 date in the PV from September last year you should play the previous two soon.

Not very subtle if you ask me, lol.

Very sure.

also Nintendo updated their website last week to add Bayonetta 3 here:

I think the bigger white portion is the shoulders. I’m more focused on the above portion that has lots of artifact
It could very well be some kind of visual artifact. I'm playing Final Fantasy XV on the Steam Deck and due to the low resolution the hair has a similar ghosting/colored shimmer to it. Can happen in Monster Hunter Rise too due to how the game handles transparencies.

It could go either way, obviously, but I don't think they would have gone through the hassle of modeling 3D characters and designing the GUI while doing a cheap photoshop job.

My very first thought when seeing the first picture is that it was a photoshop of the SMT V main character. I see I'm not the only one who thought that. Hard to tell for sure though.

I'm not saying the game doesn't exist. I'm also not saying this leak isn't real. I'm saying that first picture looks exactly like someone sloppily cut and pasted the Nahobino onto an image

Agreed. Like, maybe I just played a lot of SMTV and spent way too much time looking at the Nahobino but that was my exact first thought too

Nahobino's hair doesn't have that weird flap thing at the very top though

Plus that just looks like how I'd imagine hair to look like in a 3D FE after Three Houses

I'm being persuaded to think this is real. It's all coming together lol
Oh I'm pretty sure it's real, too, I just still think the first pic looks like a bad Nahobino shop. Granted, old build and old pics and all that, but that hair looks iffy
Holy heck, if that leak is true that hair is really, REALLY ugly. Looks like someone spilled ketchup on the Nahobino.
It's like Nahobino took a nap on their side in wet red paint

We know by the pixelated unit icon that the character wears white and as someone else said above the images are pretty fried, so I don't think we'll be able to get anything clear from this pics alone.

Have to say between the Nahobino's and this protagonist's hair I am quite jealous. Wish I had half that amount of hair.

While the images are pretty convincing, my BS detectors are going off here due to the timing. These images are supposedly from an early build and so presumably were taken a while ago, yet they don’t get “leaked” until the day after a more credible leak comes out and describes much of what is pictured. This reeks of someone quickly mocking up some blury images based on Emily’s descriptions.

I call fake.

All of the images are deep fried so I'm not sure if scanning for artifacts will be fruitful.
Of course one could argue a fake leaker saying these are "early build" is just an excuse to cover for any errors in the images. At the same time I'm more willing to accept any weirdness in the images being a result of then not being the highest quality of an early build of a game that probably is pushing the Switches hardware to it's limits.

I feel like the people who played a ton of SMT5 are making the hair look more similar in their mind then it actually is. As someone who's copy of SMT5 is still in the shame pile it really don't look the same at all outside of the general "long hair".

Also if this is fake I imagine there'll be issues with the Chinese translation once someone fluent is able to look at them.

No shit "lol". I'm not an idiot who thinks more than one game can have a long hair protagonist "lol". I'm saying it's literally a bad photoshop "lol".

If anything that white looks more like armor of some kind that's protruding out somewhat. And why fake that singular picture when the others are almost certainly real?

For all we know these are prototype images used as pitches where they literally did shop nahobino's hair

Or it could be weird artifacting of a white outfit. Who knows.

As someone who is really fan of TP aesthetics I had mixed feelings about the Tantalus port.

I would only triple dip it if they went with the same Wind Waker HD treatment.
