Anyway Nate didn’t say that next week isn’t the week.
He said that what that particular leak said (the 15th at E3 time) wasn’t what he heard

This could mean that the direct is next week, even on the 15th, but not at that time

Guys but what if…
Tradition holds -> on the 14th
Later than usual -> not at E3 time but after it (usual direct time)?

I mean Nintendo already broke one big pattern this year by having their earliest general February Direct. I guess in a year with E3 (and MSBL & FEW3H), they would prefer to wait. Late June or early July would line up with Nate’s comments.

But if they stick with their usual “one week before TGS” September pattern in the Switch era, it would mean the longest gap between a Q1 Direct and their “E3” Direct ever, while also having the shortest gap between their second and third Direct of the year.

Crazy times.

where are we doing direct predictions?

also what is even on the docket this winter

Why did we just skip over this
Bayonetta 3 was always a hard lock for this show if it was going to make a 2022 release date. From the recent Kamiya tweets, it sounds like it will come soon after Splatoon 3 since he is concerned about the competition. So maybe late September / early October. I kept thinking Halloween made sense prior, but Nintendo must have some other big games it needs to slot in before the year wraps up.

What a twist lol. Would be weird if the Neon White leak was actually not linked to the Direct but who knows at this point.
Also who knows to which length there is discrepancy between Nate infos and the NW leaker infos. But given how Nate sure knows how much we need reassurance here, I guess he wouldn't have brought that up if it was some minor difference (like a different time in the day)

The months ahead are interesting when you start trying to plug stuff in. Currently it’s:

June: Mario Strikers, Fire Emblem W
July: Live A Live, Xenoblade 3
August: Empty
September: Splatoon 3
October: Empty
November: Pokemon
December: Empty

Currently floating: Bayonetta 3, Mario and Rabbids 2, Advance Wars

Heavily Rumored: Metroid Prime HD, Everybody 1 2 Switch, and New Fire Emblem

If we did two games a month that’s six out of eight empty spots filled already and doesn’t include the potential Goldeneye remake which would make seven (I find it hard to believe Nintendo would ever settle for just the original game on NSO. They’ll share that remake.). There’s very likely an unannounced / not rumored game or two to throw in as well. The schedule is going to get tight and exciting very soon.

I still believe at the very least, Wind Waker will come in August or September. I base this on absolutely nothing except my desires, but my desires have never failed me
(except for Bully 2, Dark Cloud 3, Rogue Galaxy 2, Sonic Adventure 3...)

I don’t know if it was mentioned, but Bayonetta 3 is shown on Nintendo Store’s homepage since today:

Hasn’t been there yesterday
Wait, so we essentially just got an update that Bayonetta 3 is still coming this year?!

Holy crap, if true this makes my day, thank you so much!
I have been desperately wanting this game since 2017 and I've been soooo anxious with all the delays recently that it was sure to be pushed back into 2023. If it's still a go for 2022 then my soul right now be like

Work was a little rough today so coming home to this was just what I needed. :D

Am I the only one that think that releasing the preview of FEW and the review of Mario Strikers the same day is odd?
Not that much, Wednesday is a pretty standard day for both, and the timeframe fits for both as well (two weeks before Three Hopes, the week of Mario Strikers)

Still think a direct on the 15th is the most likely scenario. The Neon White thing lines up too well, it's confirmed true and the person who posted it said they knew more info pointing towards the 15th. There's also the TMNT game pointing to the 15th, and, I haven't watched Switch Force in years, but a channel with over 400k subscribers claiming they are "99.9999999% sure" of a direct on the 15th shouldn't be ignored.

Maybe stuff was moved, maybe Nate heard about a game getting shown in the direct on the 15th but dropping later in the month or something. I trust Nate, but there's still a ton of smoke pointing towards a direct next week.

The TMNT release date will get revealed at SGF it seems like as the publisher is listed as a partner. I think we can cross that one off the list.

As for SwitchForce, he very likely just has the same information and NDAs as the Reddit leaker and is concluding similarily that there has to be something on the 15th.

I’ve got a feeling that Mario and Rabbids will take the October spot and Bayonetta the December spot. Mostly as M&R is Ubisoft and they love a big October release :D

Good morning Fami.

Could be both of those games that month. Like Bayonetta 3 early on to fit with Kamiya’s worries and Rabbids later in the month to fit in October.

Yeah it’s been discussed alongside Neon White. Really looking forward to it!

I still believe in tomorrow. Today felt busy by Nintendo with 2 reviews, previews, FE demo and Xenoblade preorders. Kind of clears the way for an announcement.
Yeah when you think about it Nintendo sure did a lot in one day yesterday

Me waiting for possible clarification from Nate.
Direct hype is always that moment I wonder if I am that well adjusted adult I think I am lol

There are multiple games with embargos lifting at June 15th 9 AM PT. I know of two more beyond Neon White, all available on Switch. It’s just too much of coincidence for me to believe anything but a direct occurring at that time.

Nintendo is aware of this and decided to not to Directs anymore. We only get Partner Directs which which starts and ends with Switch Music

We’re so close to seeing Metroid Prime 4…E3 is the time when Nintendo shows off Retro’s game.

Metroid Prime 3 announced at E3 2006
DKCR announced E3 2010
DKCTF announced E3 2013

I think E3 being western oriented is why they do this + something like Metroid makes sense. Before E3 was cancelled I’m imagining Nintendo was going to show something of Prime 4 at E3 and will still hold true to it even without E3.

TMNT release date will probably be announced today at SGF. It won't be shadowdropped, since in the Korean eShop it has a preorder sale from 6/9, so not really feeling a Direct next week anymore.

While I am really looking forward to a Direct. I feel that my year is already quite full:
  • LIVE A LIVE
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 3
  • Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes (the demo really exceeded my expectations)
  • Monster Hunter: Sunbreak
  • Pokémon Scarlet/Violet
Then I have the maybe games based on my interest or if they even arrive in 2022
  • Bayonetta 3
  • Mario + Rabbids
  • Splatoon 3
Maybe I forget something I am interested in but for the upcoming months I still have a lot of games left (that is a game per month almost :p). Like Nintendo could not give a direct and this year was already a huge success.

But MondoMega said they know of multiple games embargo ending on Wednesday

Anyway I really doubt that the direct won't be next week.
Like I previously said, Nate said that the infos about a direct the 15th at E3 time is not what he heard, not that he heard about the direct being in a different week.
Also I'm starting to think that is hint on yt means that the direct will be the 14th (tradition) but at the non-E3 time (later).

There is too much smoke for the direct to be at the end of the month.
A lot of games have the embargo on the 15th (and it will be the 15th already in a lot of countries if the direct is at the usual non-E3 time) + Bayonetta 3 is now on the "Games" section + I still remember when Nate said "what the bloody hell" and that he wanted a "delay" after we learned about the Xbox "treehouse" (even though I don't know if he was referring to that news or to something else)

So yeah, I'm betting on the 14th, non-E3 time rn.

I don’t interpret Nate’s hints as the direct next week. I take them being the last two weeks of June so I see his info would probably be wrong if the direct is next week.

Either way if he thinks it’s next week or not, so many games having embargo on June 15th has to coincide with something and that something is…a Nintendo Direct.

I mean at this point I would believe leaked embargo dates over Nate, the 15th is pretty much all but confirmed. Nate may have just gotten mixed up or gotten some wrong info. It'd be nice if he could corroborate though

Where is smoke, there is fire. People got wrong info all the time, no one is perfect nor me or you. Maybe Nate's info got misinterpeted, that happens all the time. Like 2 years ago, when he was only one who was saying that Direct in coming in July 2020, and it ended up being Partner Showcase, he don't knew that it's not normal Direct, but he knew that Direct date. Remember this happens all the time, and that's completely fine.

I’m perfect.

About TP/WWHD, Zell was one of our most reliable leakers and they said that those were coming. OTOH, that was a couple years ago, plans change and who knows when they may come. I do think it's somewhat unlikely Nintendo releases three 3D Zelda re-releases back to back like this as their retail Zelda titles, and that's not even counting NSO games. So, my gut feeling is no TP/WW this year. However, I should note I played the re-releases and they still feel too fresh in my mind for me to want to play them right now, so I do have some bias here.

Personally, I think we may see a 2D Zelda remake, a smaller Zelda spinoff or indie collab, the former potentially being an NSO or download only title. I think the 2D Zelda remake is much less likely if it has the production values of LA. More likely if it's something like FSA. I wouldn't rule out something like an Adventure of Link remake either.

All that being said, if I interpreted the sales projections for this FY correctly, it's likely we'd get BOTW 2 this FY. But I understand I may be incorrect in my thinking there.

Yeah, or maybe his info was about a date that was changed later.
I'm happy he said he would seek for clarity, that means that he also thinks that the 15th is likely lmao
