You might be right. Kind of like him saying yeah this is still technically June with July right there on the cusp.

It was like a week or two ago he said “soon-ish” and this week he’s still saying “soon-ish”. It might be the last week of June.
That’s my thought, and you were looking into why he was saying in time and patience, could be a game reference but I think he was just bracing people for a longer wait than normal

Honestly, this is making a lot more sense. Preaching time and patience. Putting in his poll if the direct would come later. Still saying “soon-ish” and “June-ish”. It points to late June.

Love watching the thread pivot so quickly and have a hive mind for the newest speculation. So much fun to follow. Not bashing anyone. Genuinely enjoying the way the thread is going.

By the way, do you guys think we're getting a Treehouse this time?

While I would love that, I very much doubt we will get one this year. The games coming this year don't seem like games that would benefit much from the Treehouse, also Nintendo is doing a lot more Twitter drops this year to fill the gaps between Directs.

Assuming the Neon White thing is true and the Direct is in the morning, that to me implies a Treehouse because Nintendo's E3 Directs are always in the morning to make room for Treehouse that afternoon, while regular Directs are in the afternoon.

Treehouse has been going for 7+ years now. We’ve had AAA games, we’ve had indie games. Xenoblade, Splatoon, Bayonetta have all been featured multiple times in Treehouse. All kinds of games imaginable have been part of treehouse including tech demos.

It would be very disappointing (and therefore in keeping with 2022 tradition) if we didn't get a Treehouse.

They’ve even used it for game announcements. Metroid 2 remake and the Nintendo ACA games (my favorite treehouse segment of all time with the stories about sky skipper) come to mind

I've heard rumors that all Treehouses have been delayed until 2023. According to my source, Doug Bowser said "that's what those assholes get for eating Subway". Pretty based if you ask me.

Sometimes I look at this thread and chuckle at all of us because we are so hungry for new game information, we don’t want a lot out of life we just want our trailers dang it! But for real, I love being a Nintendo fan through and through and Direct hype just comes with the territory now. I wouldn’t change it for the world haha

Everyone here is busy speculating on when exactly the Direct will air, whether or not there will be a Treehouse Live, and making lists of games they wish/expect to appear.

Meanwhile I'm laying in bed with an ear infection and thinking how nice it would be if we got a western release date for the GrimGrimoire remaster during the Direct.

There’s 21 dates left in June, ten of which are Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursdays. One of those dates is tomorrow so that’s out which leaves nine. We are so close and whenever it happens it will be exciting. We should just see what tomorrow (SGF) and next week brings.
That's how I look at it too. No matter what we're not far off, so it's all good! Next week is what I'm expecting for now, but the week after is also good. Could still be the last week of the month, but that doesn't feel likely to me for whatever reason.

We will likely be able to glean more info or rule some things out/in based on the SGF tomorrow, like Nate was saying, since some of these game drop dates might get announced there, or there might be more clues or something that pop up.

If they are not announced at SGF today, I would lock in a Direct for next week no matter if Nate heard of a different week. Because otherwise TMNT and Neon White (and that leaker mentioned more things happening at the same timeframe he couldn't talk about because of NDAs) are clearly tied to some event around the 15th/16th and there is nothing happening as far as I can see. Shadow-drops essentially only happen through big events.

Or there is some other event still yet to be announced.

Nates probably going to come back tomorrow after checking his sources and tell us it's no longer soon-ish and that we'll have to wait a bit longer. 😭

Where I’m currently at in light of everything, 15th and 16th still seem likely to me (14th is out due to Xbox day 2). The 21st 22nd, and 23rd seem out since that is a huge week for games and includes Fire Emblem, but if you went early, like the 21st it wouldn’t be that bad. The 28th, 29th, and 30th week seems open, but it seems too close to August which remains largely undated. So I guess I’m leaning towards the 15th, 16th, and 21st the most.

Edit: whoops meant 21st as my 3rd day. 28th would be my fourth pick.

Ultimately I just want some dates for games we know about and reveals for a few cool games we don't. I like when that comes in the form of a direct but it was also kinda hype to wake up and find out a new Paper Mario had been announced out of nowhere.

I didn’t see this twist coming lol this was really unexpected.

Tbh a direct at the end of June would be so strange 😭 the only reason why it seems likely is that maybe Nintendo wants to wait until the release of FEW…

In the past, when our expectations and Nate's information did not match, Nate was always right.

Nintendo delaying the direct exclusively to avoid Geoff making it about him and his fake E3 is pretty based.
