I think it's for Mario Strikers.

They also registered 碧姬 several days ago, which is the translation for Princess Peach in Hong Kong and Taiwan. But in Mainland China, the previous translation is 桃花, so this is a new translation for Mainland China as well.

Maybe they are going to change the localisations of these characters in the coming Mario Strikers.
It seems that the trademark is not for Mario Strikers.

They kept the original translation 森喜刚 in the demo, both the Simplified Chinese version and the Traditional Chinese version

That's because NOA and NOE speak different languages. NOA speaks American while NOE speaks European. NCL speaks Limited Liability.
I never understood why Europ doesn’t speak American. We may never know.

A few pages back there were some comments about how they think there is an overload of Star Wars and MCU stuff coming out. I just wanted to say that while I understand that viewpoint, I'm here to say that I'm all for it. Yeah, there maybe an abundance of them but I enjoy the shows and the movies. The shows entertain me and give me something to look forward to in the middle of the week. I of course would love it if every show was A+ quality but every show doesn't need to be a masterpiece. Sometimes just kicking back on the couch for an hour in a fictional world I'm familiar with is good enough. I prefer the Star Wars and MCU over the glut of generic cop shows that is littered all over American cable.

Gotcha Gotcha Games provided new details and images for the upcoming RPG Maker Unite creation suite. The latest update, accompanied by a new development blog post, provides details about the game’s new character animations and its graphical assets systems. Its new character animation system will allow users to specify the number of frames used for character animations, including a different number of frames for different views, with any number permitted provided it stays within the overall specified image size.

In addition, the game’s updated map editor revamps the categorisation of map tiles. These tiles are no longer bound to a specific tilesets. Users can now load tiles individually and group them into their own tile groups and import custom tile groups. Each tile can also be assigned properties including whether it is passable, animated, or causes damage to players.

RPG Maker Unite will also include the PiXel ScaLer tool (with the permission of creator Nononotyaya-san). This provides an automated conversion of pixel art sprites into higher resolution illustrations. The official release of the tool will not impact previous versions. Finally, the studio announced a new default character, Emeelia. She is a cleric and specialises in healing wounded soldiers.

RPG Maker Unite is currently planned to release on PC and Mac later this year and is available to wishlist now on Steam. It will be the first entry in the series to utilise the Unity engine. As with other entries, it will come with its own library of assets and pre-made database to help players create their own games.

I finished my Blue Lions run of Three Houses last night and had a lot of fun. Going to take a break before I finish up with the Golden Deer, which is apt timing given the trailer we got today.

Also, two weeks until Strikers! That's easily my most-anticipated thing of next month.

I sold my PS4 since I was barely using it, then noticed my local store had a used PS5 and bought it on a whim. Whoops. Anybody have any recommendations for must-have games?

Bravely Default 2 worth grabbing?

Probably won’t get to it for years but Amazon AU has it for $35 so might just grab it now (note games are $80 here not $60).

"New Project" better be code for "Skies of Arcadia HD launches on Switch on June 4th".

According to the thread on Era Okunari was involved with the Sega Genesis Mini and Sega Ages. It would be nice if this was a new Sega Ages for Saturn and Dreamcast games but I don't want to get my hopes up...

That said, SoA HD should be based on the Legends version anyway IMO.

Remember when Sega said that Dreamcast and Saturn games were coming under Sega Ages and then just abruptly cancelled the whole initiative after just two years?

Yeah, something about this announcement smells like “classic game/hardware” or something. Maybe it’s the return of Sega Ages, with Saturn/Dreamcast. I know there’s a good Saturn emulator for Switch in that Cotton release

My gaming quirk is that I dislike fast travel options that don’t give an actual explanation as to why the characters can travel so quickly. I don’t mind the teleportation in BotW (but I also don’t use it) because there’s an animation to go with it. Same with Zoom in Dragon Quest and Teleport in FFXIV. In Xenoblade, however, I walk everywhere until Ch13, where I’ve headcanoned that the party could reasonably have access to vehicles by then, and only fast travel between towns.

Maybe this is them finally doing it! Saturn emulation is tough, so I get it.

If a character in a movie gets on a 6 hour plane flight do you also want it to show the full thing rather than just cutting it to be at the destination? 😝

100%. Extra content from that version, lower encounter rate, too, plus the uncompressed soundtrack plz.

So you have to only deal with YouTube compression and not Twitter compression

I’m pretty in on FEWTH, even tho I never played houses. Seems it had just enough flair for my warriors itch. Wonder if the unit poaching mechanic will be carried over, stuff like strikers shows they’re willing to keep a lot of mechanics intact and they had a strong hand in the base game so I’m curious to see how much they carry over

Claude rubs me the wrong way tho, I’m planning to start with Edelgard

So I finally finished implementing spells/abilities and I think I'm actually almost done putting in all my base systems. Wow.

I guess it's time to start adding more content!

Square Enix has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming treasure-hunting RPG, Dragon Quest Treasures. The forty-second trailer shows the game’s sibling protagonists of Erik and Mia, and ends with the announcement that further details are set to be revealed in June. It also teases a potential subtitle for the game, which can be translated as Blue Eyes and the Compass of the Sky.

Originally teased as a new Dragon Quest Monsters game in 2018, Dragon Quest Treasures is a spin-off featuring Erik and Mia from Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. The game is set during the siblings’ childhood before the events of Dragon Quest XI and is billed as a treasure hunting adventure set in another world. Platforms and a release window have not yet been announced, but a worldwide release is planned.

I remember others here were hoping for more Dragon Quest Treasures info?

Teaser trailer is in the quote above.

Oh yeah, and:

Sony Interactive Entertainment will host a State of Play broadcast on June 2 at 3:00 p.m. PT / 6:00 p.m. ET, the company announced. You will be able to watch it on YouTube and Twitch.

The 30-minute broadcast will feature new game reveals, sneak peeks, and updates, including “some exciting reveals from our third-party partners,” as well as a “sneak peek” at several games in development for PlayStation VR2.

Neat.

I'm actually enjoying more than I thought Touken Ranbu Musou. While the system it's simplified as it was made for a different user base, the fact that you can cancel-dodge without limit and the special attacks don't have cool down times, it allows for a longer string of combos and air juggle. Also the "mobage" adaptation of the missions means you can do them very quickly which is great for some quick plays.

I get to travel again next week for 7 plus hours so maybe all the big announcements that didn’t happen this week will happen next week!

Ok y’all so my grandpa has made a YouTube channel for his Zelda videos. He’s a massive BotW fan. He’s very excited to make content, but is very nervous. I’m helping him with filming and editing, but he’ll be doing all the commentary and gaming.

Here’s the link. If anyone wants to subscribe it would mean the world to him.

Thought I responded, but it seems that posts quoted and waiting in drafts don't transfer between devices 😋 I subbed and can't wait to see the first video!

If I bothered to use Twitter more I wish I could show support when they're open and transparent about this kind of thing, rather than lead us to believe they're oblivious at best or don't care at worst

Hell, some patch notes in general about previously released games and what fixes they get would be nice

Around 85 was my score. I think quite decent.
Same as mine, nice!

Here's my results... I think I slacked off with many DS exclusive franchises

Though I think the many different Mario spinoffs could be all condensed within the 'Super Mario' franchise, so you could put even more individual series
I considered that (and I did condense Mario Golf, Tennis, Strikers, etc. into a single “Mario Sports”, at least), but given just how many Mario games there are and the variety between the different spin-off series, I figured it was best to represent most of them. Besides, there weren’t many other series left that I could add that had at least two installments and were released worldwide. I could have added even more one-offs but I figured adding more sub-series was better.

Which games are you looking forward to the most before we get the next non-E3 Direct?

Personally I am getting really hype for Pokémon Scarlet/Violet and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (Live A Live is floating there as well). I wonder what else we gonna get this year but I already have three games that are going to be great to buy! And Strikers, Three Hopes are games I don't mind getting in a Nintendrought.

Seconded. And don't forget the glut of generic judge shows that is littered all over American affiliate networks.

omg that bothered the hell out of me in XB as well especially after, like, you get to certain areas that realistically the team would not just walk back or even vehicle back from.

I also find that annoying adding something little to justify it is always cool but I find more annoying when you are able to change the time of the day without any justification, something simple like a bed or camping is enough for me

Yeah I’ve been deliberately avoiding that in this playthrough of Xenoblade, just questing the time away.
