I've checked on my island every day since launch, even if I didn't really do all my chores every day.

This is my dream too. I don’t want to delete my island (way too attached, even if I don’t play right now - I still drop in on Wild World and New Leaf occasionally), but I’d love to start a new one. Just let us fly to it via Dodo and split our time like the extra island in Stardew.

My wife just deleted her island because she wanted to change hemispheres and start with a different island layout. I reallllly wonder how she’d take this :X

I'm only deleting my island and starting over (for the second time, mind you) if they make it easier to get seasonal DIY recipes. I sat with my game open for hours just to get all the Christmas DIY recipes so I could do this...

It's so annoying you can't put presents on top of those sleigh seats.

Anyway, I think I'm more excited for this AC Direct than the last main one :)

Will watch if I got the time, I have all Animal Crossing games except for the first one.

I really want a way to get the remaining fruits I need without having to visit someone else's island. Why can't we just find them on mystery islands? I have so many useless DIY recipes.

Times is going slowly today keeping expectations in check just in case. Hope theres more than just Brewster after a year of meager content.

I’m always tempted to delete my island and start over because I did a lousy job laying things out at the start, but even if I don’t play for months at a time, I don’t want to lose my animal friends.

Hoping to see some fun stuff. I haven’t been paying attention to the data mining so my expectations stay in check.

If it was just Brewster they'd have just shown the trailer for it during the Direct or on Twitter, like they did for other updates. This is a 20-minute long showcase.

I really hope Gracie is brought back. Very odd of them to not include a notable queer character that's been around since the very first game.
 
I will be expecting the bare minimum, just to still be disappointed probably.

I'm more hopeful than hyped tbh, i love the game, but abandoned It since there wasn't anything more left to me there (i'm not into heavy terraforming)

I hope this Direct brings me back. A 20 minute presentation can't be used ONLY on announcing the return of the roost

I've stopped playing sometime after the swimming/diving update. But I remember at the time there was some data mining that actually came true (right?). Are there no data mining rumors / news this time? If they plan a beefy update, even if it's not free, I'm willing to go back

There are. The Roost, as we already know, and
gyroids + other farming-produce like tomatoes also have been in the code for ages

I agree—If you weren't convinced by the initial pre-release promotion cycle (or the early lockdown hype), you'll probably never be convinced.

I take it you saw the data mined material. I'd be pretty happy if it was shown today.

Honestly, I have never looked into the game till now, because it’s one of those “genres” I never play. Recently though, I have been trying to expand my horizons, so to speak, and it’s been a great experience so far. I’m just looking for new experiences.
 
I tell my girlfriend for the 1000th time since the beginning of the week "Animal Crossing Direct at 4pm (in Europe) let's goooo", and she tells me "but you're going to the theater at 4pm", I was so sad lmao, I forgot it was at the same hour as the direct.
Won't watch it live, hoping to not get spoiled by other thumbnails when I'll go to youtube to watch it tonight.
Really hype, I think it's going to be really really good. Pretty sure it'll have a few sueprises that weren't datamined.
So far, what we got and what was datamined was so different, so altered (probably because of Covid) that I wouldn't predict too much stuff based on it.
Like, I expect Gyroids to be there along with the Café, mayyyybe a few new crops (but even then, feel like they just dropped that idea all together), but the rest will just be brand new stuff.

You can check out the first Animal Crossing New Horizons direct first, it'll do a better job at showing you what the game is !
This new direct will assume you'll know what the game is about and you probably won't understand much lol

They said when it was first announced the update is in November.

The tactic of always moving the goalposts so everything can be made out to be a failure is something best left in the old place.

I‘m getting ridiculously hyped for this. Haven‘t even been this hype for any bigger showcase in recent months. I‘m feeling we‘ll get something extremely solid - and that‘s all that I need. This is going to make me so happy… please make me happy.

Here’s what I want:
+Brewster can be whatever, it’s hard to be disappointed with any direction they go since the interactivity was so limited in the past.
+All side rooms get expansions
+More Nintendo items (Zelda, Splatoon, Metroid)
+Shop expansion, I’m talking about a department store level upgrade
+Classic item sets like modern
+Better crafting/pathing options

A lot of the above is pretty typical but I would be satisfied.
 
Gives us an island we can play with our friends on (I don't really have friends LOL), give us Brewster mini games, give us more and more items, move the Pocket Camp items to New Horizons, give me Panel de Pon or other modes, AHHHH, I can't wait!

What are the chances of us getting new dialogue for villagers? I wonder if that is even possible

For me, there is no point in adding a bunch of gameplay elements when your villagers will continue repeating the same things

right now the only thing that has 100% chance is the roost ... everything else has equal chances.

Constellations really is a strange omission. I was sure it would be in the game, but it’s the kind of thing I would now expect for a future game being a fundamental change (the way the sky displays).

Looking forward to this. I'm not really a huge AC fan, but I do occasionally like to jump back into my island and some more stuff to do would be nice. Some QOL changes would be nice as well, especially around multiplayer, as that is that is a pretty huge frustration point.
