Do we have any rumors about the new FE? Are we expecting it to be shown in the next Direct?

I wonder if Nintendo will wait till September… we have still Warriors at the end of June and they still have to give another date for Advance Wars
Also Idk if they want to announce a new FE with the current war irl? They delayed AW for this after all.

Advance Wars is completely different than FIre Emblem. One is a modern war style with tanks and missiles, the other is fantasy war with swords and stuff. Advance Wars has an enemy that's similar to Russia too. It's not getting a new date for a while.

If there's multiple showcases, I could see the "Nintendo Spotlight" branding return.

Like, 4 showcases in June:

  • June 1st: Mario Strikers Direct (10 min)
  • June 8th: Fire Emblem Three Hopes Treehouse (30 min)
  • June 15th: Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase for 3rd party stuff. (15 min)
  • June 22nd: Nintendo Spotlight focusing on 1st patrty stuff for rest of 2022 (20 min)
Just thinking out loud.

Like Magic Man said, I don't think FE will be touched by any of that, it's much different. As for actual rumors, we have heard a fair bit about it, and that it's supposed to be launching (correct me if I'm misremembering the rumors) either late 2022 or early 2023. Which unfortunately means that the answer to 'will it be shown in the next Direct' is a big fat 'maybe'. Both June and September make sense as possible reveal windows, depending on if it's coming late this year or early next year.

Fire Emblem could be announced in June or September. I don’t see it going past that. It just depends if it’s coming this year or next year

Pokemon next week or bust

As someone who really didn't like FE4, I'm praying that the rumoured remake doesn't do what Shadows of Valentia did and keep it very faithful. Some of the worst parts of SOV was older things that could've been easily changed

I doubt FE will pop up till after FEW3H is out and it probably won’t release till next year because there’s so many srpgs this year

thinking about games like Splatoon 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Pokémon S/V, I can easily multiple focused direct on this games. this obviously doesn't rules out a possibile General Direct, especially if there are games to be announced and slated for a fall 2022 release

Pokémon 100% will get a direct by itself or with some other Pokémon related games. Splatoon 3 is a near guarantee since Splatoon and Splatoon 2 got one and it’ll most likely be in August. Nintendo likes to do game specific directs a month before the game releases.

Xenoblade 3 has a high chance of a game specific direct since Xenoblade 2 got one.

I mean yeah coulb be cool... but yeah, a reagualr Direct would be better imo

rip in peace if they don't rebalance it D:

Hi guys my sources at square Enix stated that Square asked nintendo to not release another main line fire emblem until triangle strategy sells through but all the nintendo people told them to fuck off and so they played rock paper scissors but the square Enix representative used gun and now fire emblem is being announced in September for the first half of 2023

All these srpgs will be lucky to sell 1/4 of FE numbers. When it comes to the SRPG genre FE has no competence, there is no reason to push back FE when nothing can compete sales wise versus it

I can feel the energy in this thread steadily increasing, where's this train going?

Before we reach Direct Station we first stop at uncertain territories, after we got an announcement from Nintendo the hype train will probaly move directly to Nintendo Direct Station... but I'am only a passenger not the train driver, we betetr ask him.

Well there’s also overlap with Mario plus Rabbids 2 which is still supposed to be this year too

Pokémon Direct
Nintendo Direct
Xenoblade 3 + Splatoon 3 Direct (like the weird ARMS + Splatoon 2 Direct in 2017)

I'm out here hoping there's a June direct at all.. without E3, I really feel there's a chance Nintendo just goes radio silent and does another direct wherever they feel like it

Buut guess all we can do is wait

We don't need negativity in this Thread..... just joking... I'm slowly loosing the hope.

Guys there is literally no reason to devolve into doomerism, especially when its still May lol. Nintendo literally has one game dated beyond July this year, there is a literal necessity for them to do a direct, probably a week or two after the inevitable pokemon presents

Nintendo fans look for patterns but the only true pattern is the Direct doom cycle. Excitement, panic, relief, hype, anger, forget, repeat.

It wouldn’t feel right if we didn’t go through the doom cycle. Lol

I'm a little weird about the potential of a new 3D Donkey Kong game. If there was a new 3D Mario, I would be super pumped. If they announce a DK game instead, I'd probably get it (and likely enjoy) in the end but the initial announcement probably wouldn't get me too hyped. But oddly, if a new Banjo-Kazooie were announced, my excitement would be through the roof. Like a new Banjo-Kazooie game could be exactly the same as a hypothetical new DK game, just with the ape replaced by a bear with a bird in backpack, but my excitement levels would be totally different.

There's just something about DK and his supporting cast that never clicked with me, even though I enjoy similar franchises.

I want to see if they’ll add anything new in the Metroid Prime Remaster or it’ll just be the game, but looks better. Maybe some QOL stuff, but I’m talking about any added new content.

If you would have told me in 2017 that we wouldn’t see anything from Metroid Prime 4 until over 5 years later, I wouldn’t have believed you.

If you would have told me in January 2019 that we wouldn’t see anything from it until over 3 1/2 years later, I wouldn’t have believed you.

If you would have told me in 2017 that we wouldn’t have a sequel to BOTW or Mario Odyssey over 5 years later, I wouldn’t have believed you.

I always pick up Nintendo consoles on the simple promise of their immense collection of IPs, and they’ve certainly delivered some amazing games, but I’ve been underwhelmed by several aspects too.

(This same feeling crosses over to Sony and Microsoft as well. I’m learning that the videogame industry no longer serves my tastes heavily, and that’s okay, and I guess a normal part of growing older as target audiences skew younger than I am today.)

I know people are sick of me saying it, but Nintendo's pipeline is in shambles

I have a few guesses as to why Tokyo has been missing, none of which are very positive. Zelda always takes forever, but a sequel that's ostensibly very direct taking six years is concerning. And of course, the reliance on outsourcing IP has had some great successes (MercurySteam, indieszero), it is also the root of the entire Metroid Prime 4 debacle. Also, Mario Kart Tour and Dr. Mario World took up EPD resources for some reason.

If it's any consolation, I personally think these problems will lessen with time and growth.
