Retro hired a new Lead Producer.

He worked at Zynga as an Executive Producer. Before that he was Development Director at EA and Bioware. Lots of managing internal development and growth of teams.

Usually general YouTube gamers don't just get every review code, though. For the size Arlo is, to get a review code you'd either expect his channel to be a dedicated review channel or have a particular affinity for the game type (e.g. Nintendo YouTubers getting Nintendo codes)

Ahh gotcha. That is true, they don't just give it to everyone. But, at the same time, it's not like you have to be particularly large or cater to them to receive them. I could swear I've heard of other modest more general gaming YouTube channels and such getting review codes

Shit, PSO2 New Genesis is reallll fun y'all

this takes the pretty world and universe part of xenoblade, mashes it up with my PSO Gamecube nostalgia and just the right amount of action combat

for a free to play little romp it's great, tho I can understand why it doesn't "sustain" a community like a regular MMO this early on

I generally don't comment on serious issues online because I feel that I carry neither the tact to address them gracefully nor the importance to demand a statement at all. However, at this point I feel as though it is inappropriate for me not to mention it.

The attacks on Ukraine are terrible, and easily among the worst events of my adult life. While I feel that it is meaningless, I carry the same grief and concern for the people of the country that many on the site are expressing tonight.

The content are rather thin in the early days and they change monetized modeling to be more greedy than the previous game.
 
My cousin's husband works for NATO and is situated in Europe right now. I don't think anything will happen to him, but I'm still worried for his and my cousin anyway, just in case....
 
Not much more I can add beyond what everyone else has said, but solidarity with the people of Ukraine, who all deserve much better than a tyrant trying to enforce his will upon them.
 
Agreed. I am not sure what I can productively say as I don't want to be a cause for fear in this space– but I too hold the people of Ukraine in my my mind and heart tonight.
 
Jesus, I feel so bad for folk in Ukraine. Can't imagine what they're going through. Honestly, it's a little hard to be optimistic that things will get better when everything across the world seems to be going worse

For that last year or so Arlo has been talking about finally getting/clicking with the Soulsborne series and how he became a super fan and how much he is waiting for Elden Ring and how it will probably be his GOTY even on the sequel to BOTW also releases this year.

In his prediction for 2022 he wishes he could get a review copy.

I get he approached Bandai Namco with links to some of his videos talking about the series and they decided he was worthy.

Taking his newfound love for the series And how he has expressed it, I would’ve been sad and disappointed if he didn’t get a review copy.

My best friends wife comes from Ukraine, they're expecting a kid this summer - I hope nothing happens to her family.
 
Disturbing news about Ukraine this morning. As others have said, my thoughts are with the people of Ukraine. My thoughts are also with anyone in Russia that opposes this action.

I look forward to seeing a stronger response on sanctions from the UK today.

I also like the idea of changing the Famiboards logo to blue/yellow.

There isn't much I can add to what's already been said about the situation in Ukraine. If we have any members that live there and are affected by this, please stay safe. It's not much but my thoughts are with you and your families.

Puzzling that the EU has not found any base for discussions with Putin other then threatening with sanctions. Question remains, who is the aggressor? NATO with its east expansion or Putin with his army moves?

Yeah it's clear to see that Putin is the aggressor. Also dismissing something like this as 'no surprise' is insulting for those living through it.
