StarTopic Future Nintendo Hardware & Technology Speculation & Discussion |ST| (New Staff Post, Please read)

I’d imagine going “Switch will still remain our main focus for the next fiscal year” and then suddenly there’s a new system that becomes the main focus wouldn’t be received well.
Yeah it be interesting tho if they do disclose a Direct a month before it happen to insure investors of NSW1 content is coming 2nd half this year.

No NSO announcement tonight so the odds that Pyoro's tweet was about something else have gone up considerably.

still a couple pages behind this morning so forgive me if this has been mentioned already but...doesn't the fact that Nintendo is now releasing games on Thursdays mean they could/would have likely moved the typical NSO announcement as well?

edit: lol what a couple pages to skip over. I get annoyed when other people do this, so I should have known better. but I had to run out and wanted to fire off this dumb post first. And then I got the Pyoro notification right after ha.

I guess my fav theory that he has access to something like the e-shop rather than youtube, gains some cred.

Again, in my post of last night. Could Pyoro just hint several things in one image?

Sure, apparently this is coming, but Pyoro tweets things a week before announcements, right. I doubt that Nintendo would announce this around their Investors Meeting. Especially if Pyoro liked a tweet about multiple Switches.

And also, like @darthdiablo said multiple times; for NSO Pyoro is more transparent, so that would also be counted for this game, even if it may not come to NSO and is just a classic NES game. I have a little faith that Pyoro was maybe hinting at this yes, but simultaneously at Switch 2 aswell. This was cryptic enough and not transparent.

Pyoro is smart, and he commented last week on the Switch 2 Mobapad stuff. He damn sure knows people are waiting for Switch 2, and he damn knows how to handle in these kinds of situations.

People are shocked, and think it's over. But before I say such things, I wait patiently for next week, and won't lose hope yet.
Ah so there's that. The ESRB rating for Nintendo World Championsips: NES edition.

Although I'd be happy to be wrong here, I don't think there's any double meaning here sadly.

Maybe this is Pyoro actually being transparent - he just flat out tweeted a pic of Nintendo World Championships, and the ESRB was exactly that. He wasn't trolling or being vague. Still kind of odd he hasn't responded to any tweets speculating something different, correcting them like he did in the past.

I’m just gonna mention that it’s kinda crazy how speculative people were if this was related to the Switch 2, heck it was trending on twitter for a moment.

Makes me kinda happy that the Switch isn’t in a similar situation where the Wii was, in which it was a fad.

Makes me wonder how huge the Marketing will be, since I think social media will play a huge role, heck John cena even marketed the Switch at one point same goes for Brie Larson. (Despite people opinion on her, she ironically a huge Nintendo fan, bro even had a Wii U)

Other than that hopefully we’ll hear some info next week at the investors meeting.

Watch the investors meeting be like:

"We have no new hardware planned for release at this time, we will continue to support the current family of Nintendo Switch systems as it enters its 8th year on the market."

Feels like an "emergency" release as it does feel like such a NES "romhack" thing could be done quickly and rather cheap. (I'm not saying this was done / greenlight in the timeframe between now and the delay decision!)

Honestly, i think a mere port of TP and WW HD would be better "line-up boosters" than this.

This is actually what’s going to happen isn’t it

Lol Pyoro is such a troll. Pretty interesting for a surprise release halfway through the year, but it's not really up my alley. I guess Fami will go back to discussing the credibility of those Mobapad/Vandal leaks!😭

Its a 30 $ game for players nes games that are free on NSO

Idk what the plus here

I don't think it's just a bundle of NES games, as they would have no reason to use the "Nintendo World Championships" branding for it. My guess is that it's a modern take on the concept, with short speed running challenges through old NES games. It could actually be an interesting one for multiplayer. Also, the fact that they specify "NES Edition" leaves the door open for a SNES version later on.

In any case, this probably should move into its own thread.

That would be an objective take, right?

Personally, i had enough NES anything in my life that no matter how good or interesting this might end up, it simply doesn't interest me. ^^
plus more re-releases is not what I need for the rest of this year. But that’s what happens when you delay a console last minute.

Yeah Pyoro replied to someone $30 after a tweet asked "$40?"

I don't get it. Why would one pay for this when other NES games are free?
I’m guessing for the novelty of it.
Plus it’ll depend how the games looks, if it’s something similar to NES remix, then I would consider it a good steal, but if it’s only old roms of games that looks similar to the NSO version, then that sucks.

idk if its needs its own thread for now , pyoro can post a tip for another game , with can be in the end related for a direct , lets wait if after 40 min or 1:40 we have the game announcement and then decide what to do

Can you expand a bit more? Because those 2 sentences, when I read thru, seems contradictory. Not a bundle of NES games, but the guess is it's short speed running challenges on old NES games? But not a bundle of NES games?

Sorry, not that familiar with "Nintendo World Championship" in general - I haven't really followed NCW in any of the years past.

Given the rating doesn't mention Metroid and so on anywhere, maybe it's not a Remix type game, but more in line what Thraktor speculated above?
Well I replied to Thraktor with a question earlier. Still not quite sure what it is lol. I'm googling on "NES Remix" right now.

At the moment, it sounds/looks similar to WarioWare (bunch of minigames)? IDK if that's something I'd be interested in..

I don’t think this is gonna be a new NES Remix, rather just a compilation focused entirely on getting high scores and speedrunning.
Definitely a filler release, Nintendo is pretty much releasing anything at this point to keep the Switch the main focus.

I'm saying it's not just a bundle of NES games. The newer NWC events have just been Mario Kart/Splatoon/etc. tournaments, but the original NES Nintendo World Championship back in 1990 (which the cart is from) had timed challenges from SMB, Rad Racer and Tetris, where players had to complete them as quickly as possible. For example, the SMB challenge was to get 50 coins as quickly as possible.

I'm expecting something in the general ballpark of NES Remix, where they've chopped up NES games into small sections with specific challenges you have to complete as quickly as possible. So, you might have to get through a SMB3 level, then beat a room in a Zelda dungeon, then beat a Metroid boss, let's say, with times on a leaderboard, or just simultaneous multiplayer where everyone tries to race through the challenges at the same time.

Honestly, after sitting on it, it's a neat choice for a filler release. NES Remix were innately cool games and the NWC events were amazing themselves. I'd be more than happy for a high-score focused title to release. I am hoping there's more to it than the surface level, but there's no reason to be mad about it in isolation.
