Membrane, a game that costs US$ 2,50 (and now on sale for US$ 0,99) changed his price on the Brazilian eShop for US$ 245 (R$ 1400 {almost the price of the Switch Lite}, on sale for R$ 14).

At first, it looks like an error, but this new price was set in November 1st. The original price was R$ 50 (US$ 8,70).

To put things in perspective, the new price is higher than the minimum wage (44 weekly hours per month).
Weird, but this only shows that South America is abandoned by NoA, and I bet that NCL doesn't care either.

Picked up Figment almost for free due to the 90% off and some gold coins. I had already seem a bit of gameplay a while ago, but I got more interested after the sequel was announced in the Indie World presentation.

Also finally got Worms WMD, used to pass some time with the series back then, even against some bots. It's been a while, let's see what's new (crafting apparently XD)

This is an example that shows the eShop could at least use some more restrictions in general, if not regional pricing. The price spike is not South America specific as there's a recent AntDude video where he mentions that the game is U$250 in the US eShop, but this price probably shouldn't be allowed period XD

This is one of those games that used to get massive discounts so that it would be listed for cents, and Nintendo even had to set a minimum price rule, so that developers stop with the cents prices thing to flood the best-selling charts

The developers are just trying to get attention :p and testing the eShop limits, and they now heavily discounted it back to its old low price. The eShop has some discoverability issues, they're getting creative. I got it for cents back then and it's an interesting puzzle platformer actually :p

Knowing that it's a more widespread issue make things look worse though

I bought Creaks on the current sale (-65% on the EU eShop). It's everything I thought it would be (a great puzzle game with impressive visuals/audio), but I'm surprised how well integrated the visual story is in the game. The cut scenes always make sense. So far, I would really recommend it to puzzle fans. The release trailer explains the game quite well, I think.

Yup, it's another fantastic Amanita Design game. I second the recommendation.

Unless I am missing something? When it comes to confirming the controller by pressing L+R it keeps asking me to remove the Joycon

I just tested, and I get the same issue. However, I can put the joycons back in and play portably after the controller check. No idea how this is supposed to work on a Switch Lite.

How random, but yeah if you try to play this on a Switch lite you would be stuffed!

I just tried starting single player. First thing it did was take me to the Switch controller screen. I just pressed A. Then it went back to the game, I pressed L+R, and was able to select a character. I didn't have to remove the joycons.

question: picross S7 is coming out in japan on december 23rd, and in NA on january 10th. if i pre-purchase it from the japanese eshop, will it unlock on the 23rd if i want to play it on my NA nintendo account?

Once it unlocks on your Switch, I think you can play it with any account.

I bought Figmet on a whim because it was basically for free. Has anyone played it? Is it any good?

Yeah I just tried this myself, when you go into a mode and it bring up the Switch UI controller confirm screen the Joycons won't work while connected to the console. If you back out of that screen and confirm them on the actual in game screen it works, weird glitch.

Did the same because it was very cheap. Visual style is cool, only played a little bit but not sure how I feel about it yet. VA is kinda bad and I wish I could select the original danish (I think?).

Seems cute but so far the combat that does happen is nothing special and he moves sooooo slow.

Do we know when the NA Holiday eShop sale is going to start? I'm guessing either today or tomorrow.
I would assume the earliest one will start us in a few minutes, but more likely tomorrow or the coming weekend. A ton of developers already have their sales going though.

Be warned it isn’t getting more updates and has technical issues. I’m sure it’s still playable, but just giving awareness
Well, after trying Pillars of Eternity for a week, you were absolutely right to warn me. It’s got to the point where it crashes about 1/4 of the times where there’s a screen transition, and I’m in a city with a ton of different areas and maps for buildings. It only crashed about once an hour for the first few hours of play but now it’s just not really viable, especially when it takes so long to load up. Shame really, the story was really warming up.

Bummer. I know when they would implement a fox they ended up creating new ones and sort of just gave up. Hopefully if the second ever comes it’s in a better state, but haven’t heard anything substantial on that in a year at least.

Atlus 3DS games insanely cheap. $10 or less for everything. Wish I would have waited in the last sale. I recommend getting everything you want now

Yeah it just was acting up on Nintendo.com search side for some reason. Well already have SMt 4 and devil survivor from last year, gotta decide is I want DS2, or soul hackers

I think Nintendo usually does a New Year's sale in NA for first party games. But yeah I'd be surprised if a ton of companies don't put their games on sale in NA for the holidays.

Mail Mole is tempting for $10.

Any opinions on that, B.ARK or A Fold Apart?

Definitely picking up Sky Racket for $2 (87% off).

yes , I usually buy games from jp eshop to play some games early

Jesus, yeah a lot of my wishlist is on sale! My highlights ✨
  • Tomorrow Corps games are knocked down to an all-time low!
  • Death's Door is already on sale, as are Toem and Demon Turf
  • Oxenfree is $2, no brainer for anyone who hasn't gotten it yet

Grabbed Brothers A Tale of Two Sons, Unavowed, and Overboard! from the games that went on sale today, and I'm satisfied.

I told myself I wasn't going to buy any more games this year, but I ended up copping og FF7 and Spiritfarer with the current sale going on!

I've always wanted to know the actual story of Cloud and Sephy!
And with Spiritfarer I just hoped on getting a game that might leave a lasting impression on an emotional level since it seems to go for that sort of vibe!

It seems like between this week and the last one we got everything that’s part of the holiday eshop sale, most of these end during the end of the year. I think there’s even more on sale than during the Black Friday one, there’s quite a lot to consider. Maybe we’ll get some first party deals next week or so but otherwise that seems to wrap it up in terms of eshop sales

Before talking about the Switch deals and what I’m considering there I have to mention the 3DS sales. Everything from Sega/Atlus is on sale for pretty cheap so if you like JRPGs it’s pretty much the time to complete your collection. I’m currently playing SMT IV: Apocalypse which I have gotten the last time it was on sale. I’m planning to get Strange Journey and Radiant Historia for sure.

My top recommandation there is Etrian Odyssey IV, the demo hooked me and it end up being my favorite game on the system after Kid Icarus. I never got around EOV because I didn’t really like the demo, they also removed the overworld from EOIV which I really liked. So the only other EO game I got was Untold 2 because it was well recieved and had some kind of game within the game to break the monotony with the town building aspect, as well as the extra optional dungeon. I played through it last year and enjoyed it, IV is still my favorite as I valued a lot the ways it managed to change the pace rather than sticking purely to dungeon crawling (which is still a great gameplay loop). However, even though the rest are cheap they are still pretty iterative so I’m not sure if I want to once again play this kind of game for at least 60 hours, beat the elemental dragons in the post game and then bail out on the superboss because I don’t want to bother grinding and respec-ing for bragging rights. So basically I wanna know if the remaining EO games on the system add anything of value to the series, because I’m pretty satisfied with IV and Untold 2 (I wish we had Untold 3, that one looked interesting)

This leads me to ask if the Persona Q games are worth it? I only played Persona 3 and really liked it so I guess I will have to get around 4 and 5 somehow before playing Q and Q2. However, I’m still wondering if it’s worth it to grab them both for cheap before it’s too late. The discussion around those games seems to be around fans of either series being purists and not liking the games as a result but my question is, as DRPGs, are they good? Do they bring anything of value to the EO formula? If so I’m considering picking them up as well to wrap up my Atlus collection on my 3DS

Yeah I got SMTIV, Devil Survivor Overclocked, EOIV and Radiant Historia this spring in the last one. With how horrible I am at progressing on my 2ds XL and my already significant backlog only thing I’m contemplating is devil survivor 2

Was waffling between whether to get IV or Untold 2 as my first Etrian Odyssey, thanks for the rec. Now I've just gotta hope there's an eshop card in my stocking, lol.

Has anyone played Culdcept Revolt? It looks interesting, and five dollars isn't much, but the official site makes it look like it will either be too complicated to get into or utterly addicting and I can't tell on which side of that fence it falls.

Culdecept Revolt is excellent, series has been around since Sega Saturn, the basic concepts are straightforward: (you can use a relevant card) roll the dice, move, then you can place a monster or upgrade an already purchased territory, Your Goal is to reach a certain point value level(separate from your usable points) through battle, movement bonus and monster/territory bonus(more monsters in one color of territory gives you a bonus. Upgrading territory gives you a bonus)

Yeah Culdcept Revolt is a steal, I grabbed it back when it was on sale for a bit more. I don’t know about finding people to play with as a multiplayer game but the single player is very meaty. Basically you follow a story with multiple chapters and get into these duels. It looks kind of complicated at first glance but it’s really simple. The game is basically Monopoly except that you have a deck of cards, your properties are occupied by creature cards. When other players step on your land they can either pay the toll (the money is basically magic points that you use to play cards or level up your lands) or try to invade your land with a creature of their own. When there’s a battle you can put equip cards to boost their attack or defense, if you lose you pay the toll but if you win you get the land. There are also spell cards that you can play during the start of your turn. The goal of the game is to earn a certain amount of magic, and then get to what’s essentially the “GO!” square. As you progress through the story you can basically earn currency in order to buy more cards to upgrade your deck. Even if you’ll be playing against the AI unless you go out of your way to find people to play with, it’s still a fine time as it’s a very meaty game with achievements, a big postgame, special challenge levels, lots of content overall

I finally got back to it this week and I’m still early on, but I’m looking forward to diving in far enough to get enough cards to mess around with more violate but fun and risky gimmick decks

I know some folks love it, but I found it pretty boring. I couldn't get past the second chapter though, so maybe it gets more complicated and engaging as you go. As it was, I felt like it was either random or a guaranteed victory depending on the board. The cards are earned via gatcha, if that's a deal breaker for you. I'll probably slowly continue through at bed time though, because it's not too engaging, lol.

Just finished Creaks. I've played some Amanita games in the past, and was surprised by how much of a pure puzzle game this one was. The puzzles never got quite difficult, but were still satisfying enough to solve. The hand-drawn art is beautiful, and I enjoyed the soundtrack a lot.

The little story there is worked for me, and I like the basic idea of your mind playing tricks on you in the dark, as the enemies stop and turn into everyday furniture once they are under light.

I've also played Mon Amour from Onion Games during the past few days and finished it 100%. It's basically an odd Flappy Bird clone and good fun for what it is.

Looking for some Diablo action, already have all the others, how’s Titan Quest now? Iirc it got many patches/updates, but I can’t find any recent review or update review
