-Hi-Fi Rush
-Game Freak's new IP
-Silksong
-Hades 2
-Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
-Kid Icarus Uprising
-Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War
-Gamecube on NSO

So smoke whatever Roger is having and let's see those hyped up predictions

Early, off the cuff predictions:
  • RPGs. There are always RPGs
  • Some games that have already been announced will be showcased (like Sonic x Shadow Generations)
  • At least one game that is about to come out (like Unicorn Overlord for example) will get more than 5 seconds of airtime, resulting in a "Why are they wasting time on this!? Should have just put it in the sizzle reel" reaction
  • A random free-to-play online multiplayer game that only a handful of people have heard of will shadow drop
  • A game you don't care about is going to have more time devoted to it than anything else in the presentation
  • A game you're super excited about that you convinced yourself will be there will not be shown
  • Some sort of retro collection
  • An indie developed spiritual successor to a series people miss
  • Ports. There are always ports
  • At least one person will have a reaction like, "That was terrible. I don't know why I bother with Nintendo. I was going to buy a Switch 2 but I think I'll just get a PS5 (or Steam Deck) instead" and at least one person will be like, "That was SO GOOD. I'm literally buying everything they announced!"

My predictions for this direct from most to least likely :
  • Beautiful Katamari or Splatterhouse encore
  • Dq 3
  • Jikkyou baseball
  • Fortune Street/Itadaki street
  • koei tecmo remastered game
  • the sims 4
  • Onimusha 2 remastered or Dead rising 1
  • Ever Oasis "published by grezzo"

What if Nintendo uploaded their new NSO roadmap like, the evening of the same day or sometime this week? I just can’t help but to wonder about NSO

I feel like I am one of the few who is wanting for a new Puyo Puyo game already. It's been 3+ years since the last one, so I hope they don't forget it.

Thank you for reading.

I think it's better to go in with lower expectations. Better chance of the show surprising.

Why would Hades 2 be there when it's not out in early access on PC yet?

Why did this thread randomly become a dunking session in Dragon Quest for a few pages, particularly on XI? That’s the best game on Switch, what is wrong with you guys?

Anyways, Hoping to see DQIII here. Maybe Hi Fi Rush too, though if it’s 30fps I’ll wait for the PS5 version. Xenoblade Warriors would also be cool, though I don’t know exactly how big the audience for that would be. Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes alone sold around what Xenoblade DE and 3 did.

Word around the rumor mill is that Hi-Fi Rush for Switch got shelved

Pretty much this, I understand the fans but commercially doesn’t make sense, there are lot of Nintendo Ip more viable.

Come on, Xenoblade musou

Ah, the official admission of "we aint got shit for this year"

Maybe we'll get a Mini in June for announcing Fire Emblem and whatever other ports/remakes they scrounge up, and that's it until the big reveal in September/October
I still think they will release prime 4 this holiday on Switch, even if the original plan was cross gen.

If this talk about Endless Ocean is true, then combined with Another Code, we're looking at one of the best years of the Switch! Love to see Nintendo's fantastic and underappreciated franchises come back. Really hoping it's true!

But more of these means less Metroid, Nintendo's major pillar. :(

It's not only about "how popular?" the series is, but "how well would it mesh with Warriors-style?" I see people speculate/joke about Kirby/Mario/Pokemon Warriors, and while yes, those franchises are bigger than Xenoblade from sales standpoint, I don't think they really make as much sense for Warriors games. Probably the most "out there" Warriors games are the Gundam ones, but even they still have humanoid mechs as fighters.

Or to put it bluntly, Warriors and Xenoblade are both anime sword fighter franchises while Kirby/Mario/Pokemon are Scrimblo Bimblo franchises! lol

Yeah, maybe Golden sun, Hotel Dusk, Excitebike and Excite Truck have another chance?

Maybe even Fluidity?

Never go into these with serious expectations, but if Konami wanna throw in Castlevania DS Collection they're more than welcome to!

A Partner Direct means it's time for these again!

Xenosaga remaster

and Xenogears remaster!

I'll take one now, and one for the Direct in April, please.

Isn’t RogersBase friends with Josh Thomas? Blegh.

Dunno if that's a good sign or a bad sign that they "randomly" announce this in the middle of the (european) night.

Not expecting groundbreaking things but, here we are for another Direct
Partner Directs do have some groundbreaking stuff though: Monster Hunter Rise & Stories 2, Shin Megami tensei 3&5, Nier Automata and Persona ports... Expecting stuff in that caliber wouldn't be wrong.

I hope Marvelous won't do a Level5 here: they have announced (I think all without a platform) all these games:

Project LIFE is RPG,
Project MAGIA
DAEMON X MACHINA: Titanic Scion
Mandragora
Freedom Planet 2 (dated: April 2024)
Rune Factory 6
Rune Factory project Dragon
Story of Seasons new game

I'd say they need to bring something on the shelves, possibly with the right platform choice and the right timing: I can totally see some of these aiming for a Switch 2 launch windown, but not all

All those are way too niche to limit the sales to a platform with zero install base. They need every sale they can get so at the least they should be cross platform, with the successor versions launching later next year.

I can see DXM Titanic Scion and Project Dragon appearing in this Direct.

I'm not sure about that, because I think that "medium" games can get a decent spotlight being around a new console launch
I'd go with the experimental games as multiplatform Switch/Switch2 products for example

buuuuut, me too I hope to see a couple of those project tomorrow!

It really is 2018 all over again - a direct starting with Daemon X Machina haha

I mean at least it was clear most of these were in early stages of development, instead of trying to convince people they were all coming out soon. I'm not expecting to see much of those games in this Direct.

Oh well I'm not expecting to see all of them, but I hope they won't do a Level5, that's all :p
Speaking of which: I hope to see 2* Level 5 games dated + Inazuma Eleven trial dated too, tomorrow

*Fantasy Lifei and megaton Musashi

My expectation is mostly going to be a lot of indies, probably no Silksong.

For the guesses, a trailer from Type: Moon seems likely. Stay Night had a switch port (and official English localization for the first time) announced earlier this month and we know the Tsukihime remake is getting an English localization.

Other than that... there's been rumors about Atlus doing things with SMTV and SMTIV, so maybe something related to that.

Besides that, I don't have much in the way of expectations. Bingo chart lineup will be: artsy indie, an obscure JRPG from the 90s, some AAA game with horrible porting performance and finally a complete left field port that nobody could expect.

Megaton Musashi is already dated for April 25th in west. I think they'll show Fantasy Life and DECAPOLICE here, with exact date for Fantasy Life.

Level-5 said they had one more game to be shown early 2024, could be a closer for this Direct: Yokai Watch 5.
