They could have started tinkering around in Unity yesterday and have a random pokemon remake that will sell 20 million out by NovemberReally if it's truly 2025, then Nintendo will have to get ready for a rocky 2024. I hope they know that.
can you ease some of our concerns with some kind of hints? it would be nice to have some nice news for a change!Cross-posting from Era, but -
I guess I should mention that, despite my not at all comprehensive knowledge of Nintendo's line-up for the year, I'm already kinda excited for what I know is coming out before next year. I understand the doomposting, but eh.
I'm not gonna go into it any further, but a bit of both!News games or remasters?
I feel like I've given people enough work for today, hahaha. Just wanted to ease on the doom for a bit.can you ease some of our concerns with some kind of hints? it would be nice to have some nice news for a change!
Yep, you know your in for a solid year of nintendo games when most of their announced games are re-releases and remasters, and their first direct of the year is a partner showcase.Really if it's truly 2025, then Nintendo will have to get ready for a rocky 2024. I hope they know that.
This is the only thing I can think of as well. 3D Mario was not ready yet.
----
But the game has been in development for like 7 years... super hard to believe.
The above + they state they will still be revealing this thing a whole year in advance.... this makes no sense at all lol.
People wanted PS4 level graphics, gotta get used to PS4 development cyclesI don’t think this delay would be because of that. VGC’s report says they need more time developing first party software.
Those are both connected yes. The PS3 being a mess of a console fucked Sony over since it's why it ended up so expensive.didn't they skip bc because the ps3 is a rube goldberg machine
All I needed to hear is that there will be at least one original game coming out this year after Peach ThanksI'm not gonna go into it any further, but a bit of both!
Once they knew the whole planet is expecting late 2024, they should've release it regardless of if it's ready or not.
It's finally timeCross-posting from Era, but -

I won't even guess the collapse Switch sales will see in Europe and America this year especially. This delay will have major ramifications for Nintendo, no question. Because they have no games ready for Switch 2 and they almost no games ready for Switch 1 this year.Really if it's truly 2025, then Nintendo will have to get ready for a rocky 2024. I hope they know that.
How do you know that? For all you know Mario Kart Next is "done" and ready for Switch 2's original 2024 launch, and it's other things that have delayed the system. That a management error then. Mario Kart Tour taking resources away from the mainline games, to the point where wmit'd result in a delay, is a big mistake.
Q1 2025 is still FY 2025 too!Nooo 2025 is too late. Maybe fiscal year 2025...
Now I'd love some old ports of course, but still. I'd play them on sw2!
Although VCG is suggestion it might be due to software and not hardware this time. We'll see, I'm sure more info to come in the next few months.Hell no. Thanks to Wii U's failure, Switch 1 was launched "hot", and as a result had barebones UI, easy to hack, stick drift, dock scratching screen, woofy Joycon antenna, etc.
Play video games? Not in this houseJeez just play your backlog people
Jeez just play your backlog people
My cousin thinks this is another false rumor so Nintendo can eek out some leakers from within
We are in full conspiracy mode now baby
No one wants this to be true
No worries man, appreciate it.Cross-posting from Era, but -

if the other two had a banner year sure but sony forgot how to make games and ms is busy podcasting so I think nintendo will manage.Really if it's truly 2025, then Nintendo will have to get ready for a rocky 2024. I hope they know that.
Gonna keep saying it.say that again... =/
Incompetent management, not being ready for 4K, shoehorning the next console's stupid gimmick into every game, or all three. How does Nintendo not have a strong enough first party lineup to justify a Holiday 2024 launch?
Anyway if this comes to pass it is kinda funny because I was making a soft "schedule" for my backlog this year and kept wondering how I'd deal with the incoming Switch 2
Now I can play FF8 finally (which I'm sure @big lantern ghost is thrilled to hear)
a certified turn your haters into your waiters at the table of success momentFunny thing: the media company (theenemy.com.br) that fired Brazil, and his podcast partner, later last year had to write about his breaking news today.
I'm not gonna go into it any further, but a bit of both!
I feel like I've given people enough work for today, hahaha. Just wanted to ease on the doom for a bit.
5 actually, but your point remainsPeople are overreacting a bit on what in the end is a 3-4 month delay from the original plans, which will lead to better / more software around launch. But I understand the frustration.
I think second half of the year we will learn more about it and the lineup and the mood will change.
Also maybe we will now get a F Zero GX remaster in the meantime... some good games would make the wait bearable for me.
I mean, yeah, but GTA6 has had a similar time and pretty clearly missed its Q4 2024 and Q1 2025 release dates.
Mario Kart Next is probably as important to Nintendo as GTA6 is to Take-Two so a similar level of care and anxiety is probably happening there too.
I said it in the hardware speculation and I'll say it here:
If they don't have Wind Waker HD out before 2025, then they have no fucking business continuing to be a First Party because they clearly can't handle all the necessities of being a major platform holder. It's not just whether or not their hardware has been lacking, it's also the implication that their subpar handling of Wind Waker has zero excuses.
Steam is free and yet it's a thousand times more functional than the Switch's garbage OS and NSO.
Today reports come from journalists, not insiders. Also it’s very much likely that the Switch Pro existed and was cancelled, and that this week’s Partner Showcase was postponed to next week. The same "insiders" that swore up and down the Switch Pro was launching in 2021.
The same insiders that swore up and down there was a Star Fox GP.
The same insiders that just last week swore there was a Direct on the 15th.

Is that a copypasta or are you being serious? Asking for a Friend.
