Andy Robinson corroborated the report.
Read my post above, it features a very interesting quote, directly from the article.
Andy Robinson corroborated the report.
Andy Robinson corroborated the report.
...they have disseminated false information to catch leaks before.Copium, confirmation bias call it what you want.
Nintendo playing 5d chess, is the least likely explanation for this report.
thats just more of a general amercian thing tho, every company in the U.S will lay you off instantly if you give someone a bad look, while the managers will get millions in bonuses, this is not a NOA only thing.Nintendo Japan, maybe, but that doesn't mean they don't shed contractors in NOA the moment there's the slightest bit of friction.
wait... WHAT.So, Andy Robinson posted his article.
Sources: Nintendo Switch 2 will now launch in 2025 | VGC
UPDATE: VGC sources suggest Nintendo’s next console will arrive later than expected…www.videogameschronicle.com
These claims come from two development sources, who ready games for Switch 2 for 2025.
.... "could not confirm if that meant a later than expected launch."
....... "could not confirm..."
But do you corroborate/believe those claims of a 2025 launch?More sources will internationally spread those Brazil claims soon, because discussions regarding the launch window moving to Q1 2025 (Calendar Year) are growing fast in the background
Welcome to the pre-launch hysteria storm.wait... WHAT.
if this is what Brazil's rumor is based on, then how is this even news?? two developers making games for 2025 = switch 2 is now 2025?? huh...
wait... WHAT.
if this is also what Brazil's rumor is based on, then how is this even news??
two developers making games for 2025 = switch 2 is now 2025?? the leap there is kind of mind-boggling.
Are we really losing it over the unconfirmed report that an internal delay for a game we do not know exists may have happened?2025 release for a chip that was supposedly taped out in 2022? 3 years between tape out and release or at that point is it more likely that they decided on a different SoC?
It's a Nintendo console launch alright.
If you humor this, T239 in Q1 2025 is older tech than TX1 in Q1 2017 right? Or about the same? I know that's an oversimplification, but does that enable them to spec and launch a device at a more compelling price point, like $349.99 12-13 months from now?
I'm not gonna lie, this feels more like Nintendo PsyOp than actual news. Yes games targetting Q1 2025 is fairly significant... but that just means the furthest along timeframe. Games that are targeting the Switch's launch would obviously be far more under-wraps than games that are further out.wait... WHAT.

I mean hey, with the storm kicking off that's gotta mean we're close, right?Welcome to the pre-launch hysteria storm.
We'll be spun around a thousand times before reveal yet! Anchor yourself and bear the wind!
"Nintendo PsyOp" is crazyyyy hahahaha.I'm not gonna lie, this feels more like Nintendo PsyOp than actual news. Games that are targeting the Switch's launch would obviously be far more under-wraps than games that are further out.
Literally the only thing this tells me are "Nintendo Switch 2 has games" and "Q1 2025 is the latest the device will launch".
It also directly contradicts the weird circumstances of the Partner direct and Nate's earlier comments.
I'm not dooming on this one, this is legit worthless information imo.
Why would Nintendo have a year between announcement and release? That seems like the worst of both worlds to me, because you are still stuck with the Switch's limitations for another year and many people who still haven't bought a Switch will probably just wait if they know the successor is on the horizon. This just seems like a recipe for annoying hardcore fans and missing out on potential hardware sales.
If they are actually waiting until March 2025, it makes the most sense to me to just wait until October for the reveal.
So quickly we forget Star Fox Grand Prix."Nintendo PsyOp" is crazyyyy hahahaha.
agreed, though.
nintendo out-PsyOping the CIA.So quickly we forget Star Fox Grand Prix.
When IWMTB19 pointed out last year that the lack of new hardware announcement in May 2023 investor's meeting meant 2023 release was not happening there were a lot of people (including yourself) who were insisting that somehow it would still be possible for a 2023 release. When it became clear that wasn't happening those same people were clinging to a 2023 announcement and H1 2024 release even though it made no sense for nintendo to undermine holiday sales of the Switch.Cope? Nah, I unironically think this is the case.
If these reporters are hearing about games being delayed they likely are also hearing WHY those game are being delayed and the implication is that the games are being delayed due to hardware not being ready yet.Are we really losing it over the unconfirmed report that an internal delay for a game we do not know exists may have happened?
Agreed. I also want to mention how "ramping" the Switch third-party support was. There was a fair bit of support in the first few months, but it only really took until October before things starting going ablaze with a lot of titles. It was mainly smaller indies and Nintendo published third-parties that really took up the first few months of the Switch's life. There was also "easy to port" titles like Skylanders and Just Dance.Several Nintendo Switch launch window games targeted post-March 2017.
Which makes sense, having a crowded launch day/month lineup could minimize potential sales if there's a hot, hot game on launch day.
It is entirely possible that just as Nintendo withheld information about the Switch 1 from developers, they are doing the same now. Communicating release day targets, but not a device launch.
I genuinely couldn't think of a better term. I have so many issues with this report. Maybe I'm going crazy and other reporters are right, but y'know what I'm fine with that. Fuck [legitimate sources for leakers], Imma start believing in myself."Nintendo PsyOp" is crazyyyy hahahaha.
agreed, though.
dad?I went out to buy cigarettes
Necro now says 2025, Andy says maybe, nate said maybe yesterday. We're now hearing that private circles are saying 2025. What else has been methodically designed to break my heart for today?
Are we really losing it over the unconfirmed report that an internal delay for a game we do not know exists may have happened?
You know what they say about assumptions.also hearing WHY
Name a specific example....they have disseminated false information to catch leaks before.
Jumping to shout "bias" when you disagree isn't very convincing, either.
Get out of ahead of GDC leaks and talking and get consumers and developers ready for release.
Basically every console has had its launch window announced between 9-18 months away from release.
Ok if you insist:You know what they say about assumptions.
