StarTopic Nintendo Switch 2022 Year in Review

Current hopeful theory, maybe they have this up now to be in the conversation with Spotify and PlayStation and we’ll get the rest of the stats delivered in a proper email next year with December’s stats included.

They've been doing this for years now and the cutoff is always December. I wouldn't expect any changes for what is a small marketing gimmick.

Not to derail the thread, but you'd think having all of this data would allow it to carry over to a new console. Lost a ton of playtime between my three Switches.

If you transferred everything it should have kept track of the total playtime for each game. E.g. if I put Breath of the Wild in my OLED and use it, it'll show the correct playtime in my recently played list.

The problem is, of course, there's no easy way to see that other than loading every game on your new Switch and then checking the recently played list. For whatever reason, it doesn't count that playtime when ordering your games by hours played in the software menu (I think because that is total hours play per game on the system regardless of user, and the figure in recently played is however many hours an individual user has played a game).

But basically: Nintendo should have an Activity Log on Switch. The system seems to keep tabs on the data, there's just no easy of way of accessing it.

I forget what I did but I'm pretty sure I set it up as new, then signed in and redownloaded everything since it was faster than transferring. Some play time was retained, most wasn't. Would've been too much to manage lol.

Most played:

1. Xenoblade 3 (to no ones surprise)
2. MonHun Rise (it's a drug)
3. The Great Ace Attorney

The third one is a surprise, i really thought it would've been either Arceus or Triangle Strategy.

Fav genre:

45% RPG
25% Action
19% Adventure
7% Strategy
+ the single digit rest

MonHun almost solo pushed Action this high.

Not much there for me. Still a great system with plenty of backlog games to play. I feel like Nintendo is holding off games purposely for the next iteration. I’m fine with that but announce the damn thing already.

lol almost all of my games are listed as "intense burst". That's just how I roll baby
I wonder how it calculates that. I know it said that about some games I played over the course of a month, but there were some days with very big hours in there.

Looks like they finally straightened out their algorithm or something, when I first did this a few days ago it had River City Girls listed as a most played despite me only dropping in the cart to make sure it worked.
