Btw if FFXVI is a JRPG then MH also is , I will not discuss this anymore
Some of y’all in the old place helped me play it a couple of years back for the first time. Excited as hell for the remakeI really not excited for Remake 4 cause I’m expecting it to be much smaller and “set piece” substituted.
Perhaps I’m being pessimistic since RE4 is one of my all time favorite and I’ve beaten that game a good 20-30 times
But It’s a large game, for today standards, it feels almost impossible to remake to scale. I think parts will be cut. Others will be turned into unskippable cinematics.
It’ll probably still be good. But not reached its full potential. But I read it’s more of a re-imagining so it’ll be intriguing to see what that’ll be. It’s own thing based off the original could be neat.
Dammit. My fantasy league loses. Now just waiting for God of War delay.
Anyways. If covid didn’t happen, I think Sony would’ve probably had a killer first 2 years with games and variety, with Xbox’s poor start to the 2 years. I really wonder how things would be right now.
Especially with Nintendo who, in all honestly, took 2020 off and had a moderate 2021
No GoW no good. Thems the rulesIdk wtf your expectations were then.
They announced it as third party and VR games which generally means fuck all to show and it ended up being RE4, SF6 and FF16. That’s like best case scenario lol
If you expected God of War from how they described it beforehand then that’s on you lmao.No GoW no good. Thems the rules
It’s true though. So are the Souls games.Btw if FFXVI is a JRPG then MH also is , I will not discuss this anymore
After the way RE3 was handled, that's my fear as well.I really not excited for Remake 4 cause I’m expecting it to be much smaller and “set piece” substituted.

Yeah, this is how I felt about the Final Fantasy VII remake. If we're looking at a game from 25 years ago and declaring it far too ambitious to possibly reproduce nowadays, then it seems to me that we've just gone terribly wrong somewhere. After the way RE3 was handled, that's my fear as well.
And you saying this kind of brings me to a larger philosophical point on the industry: at the stage that some of the best games of all time have to be "demade" in their remakes just to maintain a certain production standard, how are we not moving backwards instead of forward? Is fidelity really worth that sacrifice?
At least in my opinion, it's really not. Games are supposed to be fun.
i imagine most if not all the stuff involving Salazar and Ashley's escort missions will be gone,I really not excited for Remake 4 cause I’m expecting it to be much smaller and “set piece” substituted.

I guess it's just the ultimate fitting conclusion of this AAA mindset of "games as cinema" that plenty of people of people saw coming and warned against, back when quick time events first came into the equation. And even though those have fallen largely out of favor (thank goodness), that same philosophy of design has pushed ahead until now, when half of a decades old game can be sold back to us at full price (but don't worry, it's prettier!) and most publishers idea of a "reveal trailer" is 15-20 seconds of CGI that will never be representative of the finished product (or give us some idea of what the game is, even)Yeah, this is how I felt about the Final Fantasy VII remake. If we're looking at a game from 25 years ago and declaring it far too ambitious to possibly reproduce nowadays, then it seems to me that we've just gone terribly wrong somewhere.
I 100% agree. My main complaint about XV was that too many story beats were cut for time, leaving me wanting more. I genuinely wanted to see and know more about these characters, and wanted to see more of their interactions. And XV's version of World of Ruin fucked me up, along with, as you mentioned, the ending. God, what a game. Also, Shimomura for chrissakesI'm really not kidding, the characters in FF XV were really really well written, and the ending was pretty bold and made me cry A LOT
* ahem *
Second times's a charm, congratufrigginlationstwo weddings with the same person
(last one was in May and it was the very chaotic “legal” drive-thru ceremony with paperwork, this one was us reading shit to make each other cry while immediate family watched via Zoom and we also hired a photographer)
I would've loved to see the food for that, omgHaha yes I assumed it was the same person! Mine is also to the same person.first one was the legal one, then the actual one was a three-day affair with a white people ceremony and an Indian ceremony so I say it counts twice
Eternights is legit the game I'm looking forward to the most other than FF16, it looks fun! And very much my weeb shit, indeed. That Eternights is exactly the type of weeb stuff, that isn't just a pure visual novel, I like to see. Especially because of the combat I've seen. It looks solid.
FF16 obviously is the best thing shown though. Game has the combat director of DMC 5![]()
that Spider-man mask is awfulMarvel Midnight suns cover leaked

Well of the remaining 5 characters 2 are Spidey and Scarlet Witch, not too surprising. Also that corrupted Hulk, Venom, and Sabretooth enemies.
Leaves 3 more playable characters if I remember right. Expect one to be Moonknight. Also a season pass with more characters leaked but no specific details
No Switch cover leaked... hope this does not mean digital only for Switch.Marvel Midnight suns cover leaked

Thinking the same thing. Even though I'll probably go digital, hate to see when there's no option. No Switch cover leaked... hope this does not mean digital only for Switch.
That Midnight Suns news has me nervous as someone who wants it on Switch.
Thinking the same thing. Even though I'll probably go digital, hate to see when there's no option.
Or they are doing the normal thing and it’s just not getting special editions again. I wouldn’t worry till we get a trailer, we did get Xcom 2 after allOh shit leaker did not heard a Switch version of Midnight Suns! Either cancelled or coming later. Come on 2K, don't take away our games, we're already getting less than others!
I feel like I'm losing my mind with folks making the "Sony just won E3" takesThat State of Play from the perspective of an Xbox fan was pretty good too. Final Fantasy XVI being PS5 exclusive was known since day one, but the Resident Evil 4 remake reveal and confirmation that Street Fighter is coming back to Xbox are pretty worthwhile announcements.
Now Xbox just has to bring the goods next weekend.
I feel like I'm losing my mind with folks making the "Sony just won E3" takes
1) it's dead, jim (and better for it, no more apples and oranges!)
2) that was all third party (with 2/3 of the big hits coming to Xbox, 1 timed exclusive") and 2023. Of course it was announced ahead of time to be, but if there's nothing else coming till september it's the same result
I think if anything, people saying these sorts of things is just very telling as to how disappointing the last few years have been for the industry as a whole. Any pre-pandemic show of that quantity of content would have most people doom-posting about Sony.I feel like I'm losing my mind with folks making the "Sony just won E3" takes

I really need to pull out my Bass and practice again. I can read tabs but for the most part I mess with rocksmith. I probably haven’t touched it since last augustJust picked up my guitar for the first time in a few months to relieve some stress. For the classic rock/dad rock fans out there, I learned Everything I Own by Bread and a big chunk of Ten Years Gone by Led Zeppelin. Feels so good to be playing again.
What’s the gameplay like?I want everyone to know that I’m greatly enjoying Card Shark so far
strap me up and hook me in doc, straight into my veins pleaseNow that the baby food that was State of Play is over, we can get back to the big boy meals. That's right, we're getting more Sonic Frontiers footage tomorrow!
It’s kinda like a memory game mixed with QTEs, although calling them QTEs is a little unfair. So far I’ve only played through what I assume is a long tutorial where the game teaches you different cheating techniques. Actually pulling them off is tense and satisfying. I wonder if the game will open up later on and let you decide which cheat is the best to use in different situations. What’s the gameplay like?
