Sports NFL |ST| Offseason

i would say that i actually have a rooting interest in the game, insofar as I very badly want to see the Chiefs lose. And because an Eagles win would make @Brock Reiher happy.

now the trick is, will the nfl let the chiefs lose 🤔

Rooting for the Chiefs because I like Mahomes and can't stand Sirianni (or Philly fans in general). But expecting the Eagles to win.

Philly is just too strong top to bottom, especially in the trenches. As long as Hurts keeps his head and doesn't turn the ball over, they should be fine. But I like Mahomes to keep it pretty close. Should be a great game.
 
Championship weekend really deflated my interest in the Superb Owl. The Chiefs very much did not deserve that win and the Eagles ended up playing against a caricature of a team. It feels like we were robbed of a better game!

That said, I'll back the Eagles because...
  • Despite living in the Denver Metro area, I'm surrounded by Chiefs fans.
  • I don't want Mahomes to turn into another Brady (i.e. default champion).
  • I want to read a news story about @Brock Reiher climbing a greased streetlight in Philly while shouting out one of his infamously questionable takes.

This one tipped the scales for me, go Eagles!
 
Cheering for Kansas City on this one, mostly because they have George Karlaftis, a Purdue star, on their defense. Pretty good game so far.

it should be 28-14 but we can’t have the chiefs down by two touchdowns cause that goes against the script

Been a fair bit of that with this being on Fox, yeah. And I was meaning to ask earlier, but… who are these announcers? I don’t recognize them at all. They’re not BAD, exactly, but they are super bland.

What a weak finish. Not gonna say the Eagles were robbed, because that was an astoundingly terrible performance by the defense, but you just can’t make that call at that point. If you’re calling a physical game, something weak like that can’t be the deciding factor. It just can’t.

Terrible finish to an otherwise excellent game. Fitting end to the season, I suppose. It’s time to move on from this level of subjectivity in refereeing.
