YesIs it weird that I'm starting to lose hype for the DLC?
I've decided to target all Waluigi players. Fuck em.
Given the MK8D meta, you'll be targetting...pretty much every competitive player. Have fun!I've decided to target all Waluigi players. Fuck em.

Next Tour after this is Bowser themed, as that's Bowser and Dry Bowser. Wonder what track we'll see...
Four new? Apart from Peach Gardens and the ghostly GBA track, we knew about the rest from the banner leak, didn’t we?We've been fully open in this thread for datamine discussion for months. There's no compelling reason to start spoiler tagging now when the main addition from the most recent round is mainly where tracks fit rather than new courses. We only learned of three new courses and a toss up for a fourth pick. The sixteen(!) other courses and all of the prefixes we've been openly discussing were from the initial round of datamining. We also openly discussed the Wave 2 leak as well so throw Kalimari Desert and Sky High Sundae (minus the name) in the pile of previously openly discussed leaked tracks as well.
Merry Mountain and Rock Rock Mountain were not on the banner leak. There was talk early on about Rock Rock maybe being one of them, but consensus changed to being a city track instead.Four new? Oh yeah. Those two always felt as given. Especially the latter. I was doubting RRM a little bit, but it was still by far the most likely 3DS track.Merry Mountain and Rock Rock Mountain were not on the banner leak. not in the patch notes but I and several people including myself (including some more experienced competitive players) noticed the CPUs driving increasingly well with more aggressive & accurate item usage after the update. interesting if the AI systems are still being improved and begs the question why and where these improvements could be being pulled from (Tour, future Kart game?)
I think I noticed this too. I also noticed harder rubber banding I think? Like, I'd get a breakaway and the CPU in 2nd would catch up to me in no time
I don’t think Choco Island is out of the running for the SNES track. The mud lake course is an entirely different hazard compared to Choco Mountain which is focused on falling rocks (that never hit anyone). Regardless we are in an interesting spot for this. For the classic themes something is sadly seemingly getting left out.Theme wise, we can pretty safely cross out Mario Circuit, Donut Plains, and Rainbow Road due to redundancy. We can also probably cross out Choco Island, Vanilla Lake, and Ghost Valley due to Choco Mountain, Snow Land, and Boo Lake/Broken Pier, respectively.
That would just leave Koopa Beach and Bowser’s Castle. Given that we only have one more unknown GBA track, we wont be able to cross out both of these themes due to redundancy (can only get one GBA beach track or one GBA Bowser’s Castle at this stage) so it’s probably gonna be one of those two themes. Koopa Beach feels like the likelier choice, but with how wild some of the BCP picks have been so far, Bowser’s Case doesn’t seem that unlikely in all honesty.
The tracks play very differently, yes, but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re both Choco themed. I doubt Nintendo would want to have two of those tracks in the BCP, especially since we don’t have a single beach track or Bowser’s Castle track yet.I don’t think Choco Island is out of the running for the SNES track. Played a bit this morning and I’ve noticed the CPUs are drafting/slipstreaming way more. Bananas are suddenly way more useful than as just red shell shields hahanot sure about rubber banding but they seemed faster around the track and smarter with item usage. and not because we were inexperienced with the new tracks the CPU karts were legitimately better and were causing a lot of trouble.
I do feel bad for people on this front to an extent (I fundamentally disagree that upcoming track knowledge is or should be a secret), but if you check the threadmarks you can see that we actually had the first leaks before the Wave 1 tracks even unlocked. So during Wave 1 this was already happening here and the discussion has spilled over into other threads numerous times. There’s always been two conversations in this thread ongoing at once for better or worse. Here's a compelling reason: Not spoiler-tagging is telling people who just want to talk about the new tracks to GTFO. If someone dipped out of the thread after the first wave, like I did, they remained mostly ignorant of datamined information, and the only way to have two discussions for the two crowds run parallel is for the leaks to disappear behind warning labels at least for the next couple of weeks.

I’m hardly set on the spoiler tag opinion. If it’s something that collectively we need to change even temporarily on wave drops that’s fine (through the first weekend maybe?). I’d rather we settle it now than when future waves drop. This thread is supposed to be fun and welcoming.

Castle might not be that out of the question actually, the next wave of Mii Suits are both Bowser and Dry Bowser, so we’re definitely getting A Bowser’s Castle next wave, could be SNES for all we knowTheme wise, we can pretty safely cross out Mario Circuit, Donut Plains, and Rainbow Road due to redundancy. The two most important ones I’m talking about are directly threadmarked as Leak and the contents are openly displayed in each post. (They aren’t labeled as such, but they are the Prefix and Banner Leaks)I checked the threadmark and people used spoiler tags for at least the next few pages, so everyone could decide for themselves whether upcoming track knowledge should be a secret. It's just fundamental considerateness. And, correct me - in vague, unspecific terms - if I'm wrong but my impression is the new leaks are a lot more precise in what they tell us than the one around Wave 1 which still left room for fun speculation and holding out hope?
