I hope it doesn't make a fail again like the gta trilogy. That’s not too surprising. Rockstar only seems to produce one game at a time and recently, so it makes sense all their money would go into one project.

It'd be really funny if we gave insane autuers billion dollar budgets on a regular basis
Get ready for this to get ported for 20 years before GTA7 shows up as an announcement of an announcement.
I find this crazy honestly, at some point there are going to be diminishing returns in terms of gameplay.
hopefully those 2 billions will be enough to afford a good writer and someone to tell them that “mashing X to run” is an awful design choice
This is gonna be super scalable and literally on everything. Not only I expect GTA6 on the Switch successor, I also expect it on later model smartphones. The game will look next gen while scaled back versions can run on weaker systems.
Fortnite is also super high budget project but also super profitable, thanks to its scalable nature.
I mean the story in GTA 5 was at least interesting. The missions really pulled the story together well. But yeah the sandbox is what makes the game.I wish i could see how people think these games are good, but they just seem like really fun sandbox games with subpar stories. Game equivalent of porn, nobody cares about the story (I think? I never did).
I'd be curious to hear from those who like the story. Hot take maybe cause I'm tipsy.
To be fair you just answered your own question.I wish i could see how people think these games are good, but they just seem like really fun sandbox games with subpar stories.
if u give me a choice to spend billions on a plane that falls out of the sky when it rains or hideo kojima im going with kojimaCounterpoint

how long has it been in development for... like 8 years? when you put the launch marketing into it (hundreds of millions) yeah 1-2 billion makes sense and they will be in profit easily enough (its about 14 million copies for them to make a billion, and GTA V has sold about 175 million)
From my experience as a teacher in highschool and how often i get asked if i play Fifa or GTAV i say that crowd mostly play it for the action not the story.I wish i could see how people think these games are good, but they just seem like really fun sandbox games with subpar stories. The writing in Bully was also pretty good, but they always struggled with GTA imo, they always want to be edgy and sarcastic and it just doesn’t work.RDR2 writing was very good. Very human, empathetic, never punched down. Also, a lot of people find the mash to run more engaging.
Is there any indication that Rockstar care about that? (I've never touched GTAV nor RDR2)more importantly awful for players with disabilities.

As for the mash to run, maybe some people find it more engaging but it’s bad for the controllers and more importantly awful for players with disabilities.
there was "tap assist" and "hold to tap" options in RDR2, so it'll probably be in GTA VI as well, but it should be the default setting imoIs there any indication that Rockstar care about that? (I've never touched GTAV nor RDR2)
oh yeah but theyve still been spending money on it since gta v (and prob not an insignificant amount) - obv full production yes, after rdr2it went into development after RDR2 finished 5 years ago.
Looking forward to seeing what Peter Molyneux can make with 2 billion dollars to spend and 10 years to developCounterpoint
