I think that Bokoblins on the rock enemy is new footage. Not that 0,5 secs of new footage on a sizzle reel make up for TGA reveal. But oh well...

Just a sizzle reel with some 2022 games - nothing new except a slight re-confirmation of BotW2 in 2022 (but ofc that can still be delayed).

So no Metroid Prime HD, No Mario + Rabbids, no Bayonetta 3, no Kirby Forgotten City, not even something as small as Advance Wars. Also it ain't Nintendo but no Chrono Cross?

I'll be honest, I'm surprised.

I think it's less Geoff and more Nintendo. They've been de-emphasising the "friendliness" of marketing in recent years for whatever reason, and that includes their inclination to give big reveals to non-Nintendo stuff like this. Even E3 shows, which used to be full of skits and cool speeches, are now just jumbo-length regular Directs with the exact same formatting.

Those are are very funny actually, because looking at the show people wouldnt really know that Switch is a device with new and upcoming games.
 
More mindless AAA games... Stop spending so much money on games, devs. Quality of visuals won't change the sales outcome.
 
I literally have the game they're going to announce installed on my PS5 right now and they're ending the show with it :(

I don't know, it's just starting to feel like they don't really want to 'mingle' with the rest of the industry the way they used to. Doug Bowser (i.e. the only exec who accepted an award on behalf of the devs) weird advertising speech for Dread's (deserved) win didn't help either.

Of course they don't, ever since that E3 where Nintendo dropped live presentations (and possibly even earlier with the advent of Directs) they have strived to control their own narrative. I remember reading gaming media in the late 90s through the 00s and the major thing that stood out was how much Nintendo was delegated to being the "kiddie" one between Sony, Sega, and eventually Microsoft. Now with social media they don't have to let the general gaming community dictate their image in events like TGAs, instead Nintendo can craft how they are presented to the public through their own events.

Geoff wants to be Hollywood so much, tired of it.
 
The literally only thing that will make me not super mad that I didn't go to sleep is Metroid Dread winning grand prize.

This show could have been a tweet. Sonic is like the only new thing I can remember and we basically knew all about it already. At least the orchestra should be good.

Wonder Woman, Sonic, Space Marines were the highlights for me

some games looked good, but I wasn't too interested like Arc Raiders
