90+ in my opinion would mean this game has way more than what was showcased in mindblowing stuff. The badge system caught my attention though and some of the Wonder stuff (like perspective change aka 2D Zelda mode) sounds really cool.

No love for plumbers I see…this release will get a ton of reviews from non traditional review sources. That could sway the results, but I think it pushes it up. Gotta believe the newness of it will also help add a few points just for not being another “New” game.
 
the change in visuals is gonna be a big boost in positive impressions alongside inventive level designs and setpieces from the wonder flowers.

only aspect I could see being seen as a consistent negative is the lack of a proper coop mode where you interact with other players in the same world rather than playing side by side but in your own instance of the level (tho you can revive each other still in that case).

makes me feel the game won't go lower than 89 and probably not higher than 92 which would be still be great for a 2D platformer, a genre that some players/critics alike can be a bit dismissive of at times.

With most reviewers using a 10-point scale, you need a lot of 10/10s to get 90+. I just don't see it happening for a 2D Mario game, even if I do expect it to be great
 
Voting 86-90. I think it has a shot at breaking the 90 barrier, but I think at the end of the day this is still going to have the “oh it’s another 2D Mario” stigma to contend with, and mechanically this doesn’t look to be breaking that significantly from the New series.
 
To be honest I genuinely have no idea. It's somewhere in the 86-93 range and no where higher or lower. But that's such a big range already. I think the more realistic range is 88-91, but even then it's tough to call if the final score will be above 90 or not (we have seen casual or cross-demographic games get a 90+ on Switch fyi).
 
86-90 generally seems to be the sweet spot for the less prestigious Nintendo Switch entries (ie anything that’s not 3D Mario, Metroid, or Zelda) so I’ll go with that.

all this previews seen to hint Super Mario Bros Wonder metascore could be a 94/96 range, but i saw a lot of games that was praised during previews and such and only got a 85/88, i not sure if Super Mario Bros Wonder Metascore range in high 90 or the high 80, i betting on 88 for the game Metascore, the game will open with 88 on Metacritic, but someone will make a very harsh review of the game putting it final review score to 84.

I'm predicting high 80s, 87-89. I know that I'll love it, but this game has to be actively worse than the NSMB games for me to find it disappointing. But even with glowing praise so far, I would be surprised if this broke the 90 barrier, even more shocked if it were 93 and above. For a typical 2D game, those kinda scores would mean a transcendent platformer, one with the right special spice to blow past "fundamentally strong and creative experience".

Would I like to be proven wrong? Sure! But I'm gonna keep my expectations in check.
 
88-91, I think the general excitement for an actually new super mario bros among critics will keep it elevate it. The sentiment has been very positive. Plus I think the new online multiplayer is smart, critics wont bounce around and disrupt the flow of each other's game, while potentially having a lot of fun with friends.

In all seriousness, from all the hands on previews we’ve seen the game seems like a universal 10/10 waiting to happen. There will always be outliers, but I think it’s gonna be like a 91

90 seems very possible for me. People love Mario games, and presentationally and gimmick-wise this one seems like it may be one of the greatest yet.

Yeah I just did after seeing the predictions here haha, I agree that it looks awesome and could end up deserving those scores (I love 2D mario myself and been excited for SMWonder since day 1) but just worried it's going to get hit by the metroid dread "2d games aren't as important" thing by some people.

The easiest 89 cursed game of my life. This was a bad year for the 89 curse but after pikmin4 I think we’re back in business with a big 89 for mario wonder.

John Nintendo made a deal with a witch to poison the taste of Switch cartridges but failed to hold up his end of the bargain, now multiple Switch games are doomed to be ranked at 89. He told me this when we went to get shots at Super Nintendo World.
