with social media spread as we know, Nintendo can show a reveal trailer for the console next summer, everyone will be talking about the console, gone is the time you need a longer marketing period for consoles reveals

I agree with this to some degree, especially since initial launch supply will probably be exhausted quickly by hardcore players. The one thing I'm also considering, however, is the console marketing cycle will also be about their development partners and allowing them a proper marketing cycle for their games, especially any exclusives being made. I personally think the console could release as early as September 2024 and be revealed as late as May/June 2024, but I think there will be no fewer than 4 months between reveal and launch and probably more like 6 months. The shorter the window, the more I expect Nintendo to do and spend in that window to push the system, such as hosting their own media/influencer events rather than waiting for existing trade shows. The less time they leave before launch before they start talking, the more leaks we'll see pop up, but I don't know that Nintendo would let that affect their plans too much.

Yeah to be clear I wasn't suggesting/guessing the Focus name was real, but rather that at most devs might have a codename.

I think this is giving the data mining/RE people too much credit, since what was said about 4K was nothing beyond noting that the dock's new display chip could handle it (and the rest being speculation about whether/how that would be taken advantage of, which was all wrong), and there was nothing said about an OLED screen, just a new screen with different drivers (with the conclusion being that it was OLED only because Mochizuki was reporting that).

nintendrones, nintenbabies, nintent*rds, the whole lot of them, used unironically in the vitrolic places. and that's just to the fanbase, to Nintendo themselves, it gets weird, in that places you'd expect to be smarter just....aren't. wrong technical info, wrong business info, etc. it's like their brain shuts off when Nintendo is mentioned

Sure enough, Grubb didn’t hesitate to say over and over that we may see it as early as end of August. It’s not unreasonable for it to have ended up being just developers that would see it. Shame it wasn’t a broader reveal, but it’s probably a fair bit too early for that.

Oh, that term was thrown around a lot during the Wii U era and even in the early Switch era. It was one the go to console war insults, along with the still frequently used "Sony Pony" and "Xbot".

Yyyyep. Back in a time where it was (and in some areas, still kinda is) cool to hate on Nintendo. Truly dark times, they were.

It would look better if made in paint. Seriously I‘m more mad that someone like this Jony guy has no creative ambition at all and people seemingly aren‘t able to tell the difference and come up with any other (to be fair valid) reason why this is fake except for the quite revealing "I found the bezel effect in Photoshop" or "I watched a Blender Tutorial" aesthetic.

I disagree, nate directly said he has been made aware of exceptional information about nintendo hardware. this is just a vague post that could be used for plausible deniability if anything lol. Just thought i'd put it out there.
