Would love to see info on the Pokémon SV DLC. Hope this new 2D Mario game has a great new art style.

Don't want to dunk on Chis Dring too much as he has legit sources and is a credible reporter on UK sales, but I can't help but feel he is way out of his league engaging in speculation. He has bad takes on Nintendo because of his UK PERSPECTIVE and sometimes, like today, either his sources or his gut failed him. He really should just stick to reporting what he knows, which is UK sales.

Nope, this one is being used by NCL account ever since 2019 I believe. Other branches are just switching between this and blank red. They will likely not change until next gen at this point.

Yeah I'm not the biggest fan of dunking on people in the media but, uh, I ain't losing sleep here. The guy should take a step back and focus on not failing to revitalize E3 again.
 
Looking forward to it but it completely clashes with an uncancellable (from my side) work meeting with a client. My long shot hope is that the client is also a Nintendo fan...
 
Eh, saying the event got brought forward by 2 months points to either a bad guess or bad sources, because 2 months from now is mid August, which is well before Nintendo's usual pre TGS Direct spot.

At this point in time I'm inclined to believe Mr Dring made a bad guess based on knowledge Nintendo were skipping E3 but attending GamesCom. edit - and there's no shame in that! You just can't compete with a hype-powered community of terminally online and surprisingly well-informed shitposters who have a galvanising and over-zealous figurehead.

The issue I have with Dring (or anyone really) is when they speak with 100% certainty on something they aren’t certain about. It’s ok if his source said July/august, but then he should phrase it as “from what I hear…” not “nintendo will not have a direct in June”
 
Let's not overdo it with Dring. His schtick is amusing but let's not create a flaming brigade that we later can't control.

Give him the L and move on.
 
So we know new 2d Mario, the Sonic/Mario Olympics game, some sort of SNES remake, and wave 4 of Mario Kart are basically locks.

Still a lot of unknown, very exciting!

For TOTK DLC they just need to show a new sky island and I'm sold.

After that 2D Mario may be shown as the 2nd announcement, I'm really not sure about it but hopefully will have a new style rather than just another New Super Mario Bros lol

technically it was Dring's employer that failed to bring back E3 but I'm still comfortable attributing it to him

Your faith is greater than mine and for that I salute you. I kinda lost hope because it seems Super Mario RPG will fill the RPG slot for now (which do not get me wrong I’m over the moon from the possibility but I ultimately prefer TTYD)
 
I'm actually a touch salty I have to be in the office tomorrow in meetings all morning so I won't get to see the insanity as it happens
 
I’m in the middle of nowhere this week and can barely eke out a signal for anything. So of course this will be a great one.
 
Welp, it's officially that time of the year when you can dream about anything, cause sky's the limit, so just imagine: Nintendo and Square Enix coming together to announce the HD2D version of Super Metroid, which would play practically the same as original, but with weapon wheel. 2D-fans will get the sprites and 3D-fans will get their 3D environment, it's a win-win situation.
