I could use some more JRPG on my switch.

How about another one of those JRPG directs, Nintendo?
I second this, I need my monthly dose of JRPG's on Switch. And not some retro ones, big ass games that pushes Switch to its limits. Like SMT5 or NEO TWEWY.

Square is supposed to have new SaGa and Mana games in development and since they've been in dev for quite some time, I expect them to be big stuff. Hoping them to be close to reveal!

Let me just remind you all that the name of this ST is Drake's Deception...

We will surely see more Pikmin 4 info this month.

That should be good news for everyone here.

+ probably the announcement of their holiday title, either via direct or twitter.

So don’t be extreme desperate of their is no direct announcement this month.

We will see more info on some multiplatform third party titles like Mortal Kombat 1 or Persona 3 Remake

The only drawback is that with no direct its highly unlikely we will see announcement of old ports/remasters that are already available on PS4/XOne.

Y'all should know better than to doubt Lukas' prediction powers at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if he nailed the exact date of the Direct.

My current prediction is probably 22nd, not next week. Only problem is the Pikmin marketing in this, as it would start day or so month before reveal, if it's a Pikmin Direct, gameplay presentation, Treehouse or anything else. But I guess they can do bigger headline segment for Pikmin 4 in this General Direct on 22nd and then, week after it fully start the Pikmin 4 campain. I didn't even previously ruled out the posibility of Pikmin 4 Direct or some kind of deep dive coming right after General Direct.

Uncharted 3 originally released in November, yeah? Plus, if you take the first letter of June, Nate, and Drake you get JND--which obviously stands for "Jot November Down." Oh-ho, very clever. But there's no deceiving me! Nintendo clearly wants to shadow drop the holiday title! I'm changing my vote to November!

(Now quick, someone rationalize October so we can get a vote for each poll choice!)

I feel like they could easily put the obligatory month before overview trailer for Pikmin 4 in this Direct.

Also, on a completely unrelated note, I realized that if the next 2D Mario is being spearheaded by the designers behind Octo Expansion, we could be in for something truly special, at least from a level design perspective.

it's better to vote for what you think, don't try to play it safe

there are no stakes whatsoever

"hey dumbass directs have been cancelled forever i only voted june to get people's hopes up plus olimar dies at the end of pikmin 4 louie kills him

this is nate drake btw"

just found this message in my inbox, any guesses as to what it could mean?

You now cannot see who voted for which team. The funniest thing is that if I told you I made Nate voting in June fake to be more people on Team June, truly a outstanding tactics.

If there's no Metroid Prime 4 they can keep this Direct tbh

I just want a glimpse of it. That's all I ask for.

A five-second clip.

Please, Nintendo. I'm dying out here.

I don't think there will be anything else this week but we can use it to take inventory a bit. For example, if after Summer Games Fest and the Xbox Showcase we can see that someone like Square Enix has nothing for the second half of the year then that means there might be something else on the horizon, even if it is just a Partner Showcase.

It means that Pikmin 4 will be a 15 million seller game on it's first 3 weeks.

if there is no June direct, I promise I will implode into the Second Big Bang, and create a Universe for all Famiboards to live and thrive in, and engage in discussion and speculation for eternity.

There will be a June Direct.

It won't be a general Direct but it will be a Direct.

My understanding is that they are not going to shareholders meeting on June 23rd with Everybody 1-2 Switch - June 30, Pikmin 4 - July 21st and Prime 4 - TBA. As funny at it would be.

We talk about this all the time how shareholder meetings/earnings means absolutely nothing for their announcement schedule and announcements, which is true. But it's different this time, they will go to speak to them with one game burried on release, releasing at budget $30 price and launching week from that point, and their last dated game, Pikmin 4, releasing a month from that point. How funny it would be when Furukawa, like a programmed robot says his line "We are in uncharted territory" once again, while dodging questions about hardware and saying the obligatory "We are always working on new hardware, nothing to announce at this time" and reassures once again that they want to sell 15M Switch units by the end of this FY with only these 2 games dated in their timeline (one of them being really stinky).

This is not like in May at the earnings when they got Zelda just 2 days after that and everyone knew it would print money. By June 23rd, we will be way over month after Zelda and they just can't act like "We still got games! Please trust us!" It's not happening. Third week of June is the last possible date when this Direct is happening, it's really simple. Insider/Rumor stuff is also not that big of a problem as people make it to be, there were Directs, even in 2021 that were not hinted by anybody. And usually it's around a week before the presentation, maybe few days more. If the Direct is happening on 22nd, we still got plenty of time to hear from insiders. At the end of the day it's just Grubb or Nate who are saying something, no one else really.
Just wanted to ask, what exactly is the difference between the upcoming shareholders meeting and the quarterly investors meetings? Investors and shareholders are synonymous, aren't they?

Pretty sure there is no quarterly meeting.

Shareholder meetings is where you can go to ask "where F-ZERO" if you happened to have bought 40 thousand dollars in shares.

There is no such thing as a investor meeting, only people are calling it like that, it's officialy called Earnings Release by NCL, it's detailed report it goes into details about sales for previous months and into next months. Information about their profit and all of that. Shareholder meetings are nothing like that, it's just NCL Board of Directors attending which are asked questions from shareholders, it's only annual and happening once a year always in June (altough Q&A briefings are part of Earnings Releases twice a year).

June Direct only features games with '4' in the title:

Pikmin 4
Metroid Prime 4
Wario Land 4
Zelda: Four Swords Adventures

We get one every three months to review the earnings of the previous quarter and to answer questions from investors.
That's just the earnings release, the annual shareholder meeting in June is where they get to ask Nintendo questions.

edit: Basically what Lukas said above

Have we all considered the possibility Nate is just joining in on the speculation fun and voting for June, just for speculation's sake and without insider info?

edit: pressed post too soon
We don't have time for normal ideas like this.

Either Nate is CONFIRMING the June Direct and saying it'll be the greatest thing ever, or he's BETRAYING us and trying to trick us all into selling our amiibos and burying our Switch consoles.

This is serious business. We take everything Nate does and put it under a microscope 🔬

I hope we get one this month, cause if we finally get something Castlevania related from Konami, it’s more likely to be in a Nintendo showcase. 😂

I can't laugh enough with all these mentions am getting through a day, the Zelda stuff really made me a prophet I guess.

Can't wait for that Farming Games Direct, feat. Zelda DLC: Hateno Mushroom Farmer with psychedelic top-down bullet hell minigame!

Thanks, I was a little confused on the terminology. I thought that they were similar.
