News Nintendo Direct announced for February 8th

Wait... holy smoke.
For all this time I... wow, boi do I feel stupid right now

Well, sorry @reconceptualize , I'll edit my post.

It's fine. You just wanted to make people aware of this old piece of shit. Even if you mixed him up with someone different. ^^

Just do the Mario:

There are two things I really want from this Direct, and I'm sure neither of them will happen.

Ace Attorney 7. Please, for god sake, please. Chronicles doubled their sales expectations, and is on track to sell a million copies. Where is 7?

And...

An Animal Crossing remaster of one of the older games, preferably GameCube. Or, I don't care, even if they just slap GameCube Animal Crossing onto NSO (I don't see why they can't do this, since GameCube AC was an enhanced port of the N64 game). Anyway, I don't want this franchise to lie dormant until 2025 or whenever we get the next Animal Crossing.

Oh, and Mario Kart wave 4 please. Release in late March?

The direct is early enough that I can still watch it all and leave on time to babysit my 5 month old nephew. Do I plan on making him watch it too? Probably, yeah.

Woah, wait. The time of the Direct isn't during my work hours?
Nintendo WANTS me to see this!

Nate... Metroid Prime 4... fiscal year 2023 2024

I can't be having these kinds of thoughts. Goddamn it! Hate that Nate >_<

Have they ever announced Switch Holiday games in February?
yes, they usually have a couple of september releases in the february direct (xeno3 in the last february direct set for september before the change, another one was link's awakening also releasing in september).
If they're not doing a june direct they should announce some game for the later part of the year.

Primed and ready.

MP1 this summer
MP4 this holiday (with special edition OLED - which won't get announced until then, just calling it now)

"So the games we make at this studio...I mean the really, truly cool and all-new games, we're going to continue creating them, and I think everyone is going to be really impressed. I wonder when I can announce this...? Maybe around the end of the year...? I'm not sure... It may end up being next year, we'll see how it goes. Anyway, I want to hurry up and show everyone what we're doing."

i don't know, the timing seems right...

About this...
Should people want more a 2D DK, or a 3D new one?
Also, Lanky should be playable um the next game, no matter the style
I feel there are bigger DK fans who have clearer ideas of what they want from the series in the future. Personally I think a return to 3D could be interesting as it's been a while, but Tropical Freeze is an absolute delight so I wouldn't say no to more 2D or 2.5D or whatever. If the 2D Mario thing is true I feel like it could be oversaturation of first party 2D platformers unless there's a good gap between them though.

New Kongs could be very funny and less popular returning Kongs will always get my vote, especially if they have fun traversal options.

Still feeling, in my gut, that it's going to be a plinky plonky smol n' weird games Direct, bar Zelda and maybe New Super Mario Land/World.

Well, good for me that Baten Kaitos IS a weird game with a weird game world.

Btw, it still kinda bugs me that Falcom and Marvelous/Xseed can't come to terms to release Cold Steel 1 and 2 for Switch over here... Asia got them already via Clouded Leopard.

Animal City. A spin off in which you live in an appartment complex. Focus on social interactions with the animals. You can earn bells by working part-time jobs (fun mini-games).

3
-Pikmin 4
-Story of Seasons released date
- Zelda TotK (yes It is a farming game)

7 by my count.

  • 2D Mario farming platformer
  • Metroid Prime 4: Friends of Tallon IV
  • F-Zero (the 'f' stands for 'farming')
  • Donkey Kong Banana Biodome Bonanza

AA7 or/and an 4-5-6 collection would be godly honestly.
