News Nintendo Direct announced for February 8th

It would be cool to hear about something Dragon Quest here! Can’t remember if they do announcements on Directs or always do their own stream. III Remake or X Offline would be big ones for me

We live in a world where F-Zero is more likely than 2 possible Metroid options (happy for F-Zero fans and maybe I'll become one, but you gotta admit this is weird).

SaGa I feel has a real chance of showing up, leaked trademark and everything.

The only reason why people don't bring it up as much @9-Volt is because the series as a whole looks very intimidating. I know I'm afraid of it!

Mario Kart and Fire Emblem both have 3 more DLC waves coming out this year so those are possible mentions as well

In hindsight Nintendo would known people make a game out of predicting their Direct announcements but seeing them acknowledge the bingo card is kind of nice

Do you 'member the "What's behind the cutrain" thing? I do.

Hahaha, Metroid probably belongs on the same tier of likelihood as F-Zero but Prime Remaster in particular has been done for nearly a year and a half, so who even knows when Nintendo is positioning it for release? Especially when that announcement might be complicated by the willingness or ability to show at least a glimpse of Prime 4 in tandem.

Ah yeah, good shout, I knew I was forgetting some DLC. Adding to the list

Btw this direct might be the most important direct in a long time, depending on what they show we'll understand how far away the next switch really is. Especially if we're not getting an e3 direct

I hope it means they've seen some of my more deranged bingo cards over the years. I put Live-A-Live on them for ages and I've slipped Baten Kaitos on a number of times too - if they are paying attention and responding to my flights of fancy that means they're probably working on Seoul Mirage Sessions, remakes of every flop game I've ever loved, and turn-based entries for every IP they own. Thank you, Doug!

How likely do you think the announcement of an upcoming Tears of the Kingdom Direct is during this Direct?

Will you know if there's a Summer Direct based on this Direct?

That's not something everone knows at this point (I learned it myself last month) but I suggest you do a little google research about Ron Jeremy (tw : sexual abuse)

That's not Ron Jeremy. That's "Captain" Lou Albano.

E: But yeah, fuck Ron Jeremy to eternity and back. But that's not a topic for this thread.

A year too early for that :p
They want to sell Switch OLED with Zelda TotK, they won't announce new hardware.
Wait for the announcement. You'll see!

It's impressive how Nintendo hide so well the hardware. But the time has come. Zelda and Pikmin will shine in this new hardware.

By the way, this new Switch won't share the same form factor as the current one.

This is like xy Direct is the Switch era are we are still talking about "mostly" or "focused." Sigh.

September 2019 - focused on 2019 games. - ended up revealing XenoblaDE
February 2021 - focused on available games like Super #SmashBrosUltimate and games coming to Switch in the first half of 2021. - Splatoon 3 (2022) game shown.
September 2021 - focused mainly on #NintendoSwitch games launching this winter. - Splatoon 3 shown, Bayonetta 3, Sunbreak,
February 2022 - mainly focused on #NintendoSwitch games launching in the first half of 2022. - Xenoblade 3,
September 2022 - information mostly focused on #NintendoSwitch games launching this winter. - TotK shown, Pikmin 4

And am probably forgetting a lot of E3 cases.
The most hilarious one is the E3 2017 Spotlight.

Nintendo: "featuring a closer look to the Super Mario Oddysey game and new details for Nintendo Switch games launching this year"

The actual presentation: Pokemon RPG, Metroid Prime 4, Yoshi's Crafted World, Kirby Star Allies

Excited to finally get a good look at TotK, and hopefully see more of Pikmin 4. A new Rhythm Heaven, another sport added to Switch Sports, or a new platformer (DK or Mario) would also be really exciting for me.
